Poachers Come Set Our Fishing Spot On Fire!

- What started out as a normal fishing day turned into an absolute nightmare when a poacher started a forest fire at our fishing spot. Luckily, Mark and I were able to fight the fire with buckets, bottles, and ourselves before things got too severe.

Why didn't you guys call the fire dept I hope but great job Boyz peace FROM THE NORTHEAST THE BEARDED FISHERMAN?!
@@beardedfisherman8608 they would never have arrived in time to put that fire out. It probably would have been out of control if we had seen it a few seconds later than we did.
You should seriously report that fire. The fire investigator might be able to find some evidence so they can track down who did it.
Ya check the egg for finger prints!
@@Gathorer they got us working in shifts!
@@Gathorer That would actually be cool 😊
@@SubJStan for the egg prints?

You sounded like Paris Hilton at the beginning, "That's hot" 😂
I think Nicole Richie said that more than Paris but who’s counting?
I need that Paris Hilton money
This was insane. When I lived in the Carolinas, I had a neighbor who decided to burn a pile of pune straw in his yard. Unfortunately he didn't do the best at putting out the embers and the straw went inferno and caught his work shed on fire that night. I woke to explosions as he was standing outside with a garden hose. The fire department came and put out the fire, but since pinestraw is so persistent it caught back on fire the next 3 days straight. The fd finally sent the forestry to dig a firebreak. I understand what you were going through after seeing all that pinestraw. One thing I learned though is to push the ashes towards the center and create a path of dirt so the fire has a harder time of spreading. Well done and stay safe. Some people just have no common sense or decency
Definitely. That pine straw was weirdly hard to kick away. I tried to use my hand once, and that was a mistake, lol.
Love the fact that you guys went out of your way to make sure that fire went out!! great job!!
Yeah, it kinda felt like it was all or nothing.
Thanks for being in the right place at the right time.
I do what I can
Wow I'm so glad you guys were able to get there before the fire got worse. It's crazy how someone's small negative actions can lead to detrimental results. Some good fish y'all caught also but salute to y'all for saving that environment. Great video as always!
I appreciate it. I have a feeling the guy that was their has a string of small and not so small actions to his name that negatively impact the environment.
It’s crazy how easy it is for a forest fire to start
It is. What always gets me is how fast it moves.
The Bambi reference got me blown away. I haven't think of that. Kudos to your chamnel. Keep safe always❤
Ha, yeah. It's more realistic than most people realize.
I seen some kids burning a picnic table, trash can and shade tree while I was camping, I pulled up and went Vietnam grandpa on their ass they were petrified 😂 It turned out their parents left them in freezing weather to camp solo with friends 🤨
Sounds like an interesting situation
Mmmm crappie is literally the best tasting fish there is. We catch loads of them in Oklahoma when I visit my family there in the summer. Excellent meals every night, catfish and crappie!
They do taste good. It's been a long time since I have eaten one.
Excellent job my friend good blessings you
Much appreciated
Very good job 👍
Thank you
These people need jail time..absolutely a joke what they caused and leaving trash behind eventually screws everyone over…pack in pack out!!!
I'm thinking you should join them?😂
Exactly, if you can bring it with you, you can take it out with you
@bouncerslabrealnature9143 this is a weird response
@@bouncerslabrealnature9143 I’m thinking your a little different 🤷🏻
You done amazing job. I cant imagine if that fire spread and become a wildfire. Takecare brother.
I appreciate it. Definitely a case of right place, right time.
Good job guys
Thanks
I'd love to do your gar guide - but I just bought a home so can't afford it right now! Would love to do it later this year though if it's still available. Glad you guys saved the forest!
It ends in April, but congrats on buying a house, that's awesome
They left all their freaking garbage everywhere as well.
It was a 101 example of how not to treat the environment
The hook set on the first white bass🛫😂
Yeah, I thought he was a lot bigger
u are truly hero. thanks god and u.
Just doing what we could, but thank you
People don’t understand how unstable those fires are. You can put water on it and it will still start back up as soon as you turn your back to it. You need to absolutely drench the ground with water and in a perfect world use a thermo camera to make sure theres no hot spots that are going to start a fire up again.
Nice catch! 🐟 & 🔥 🚒
Thanks!
Glade u guys were there to put tha fire out good job
Me too. It was a very lucky situation
you are 2 good people
We did what we could. Much appreciated 🙏
root fires are no joke .. that can light again after several days
Yeah, it's a terrifying but fascinating phenomenon
Well hope y'all reported it that's for sure an what an amazing job jumping into action an doing what you gotta do good job gentlemen
Yeah, it felt like the only thing to do
That was intense!
It definitely was
the lake. Crappy assho's poachers killing unnecessarily on the bank.
Civic duty done for the day, sir. Respect
Yeah, it's never easy to think how much of that happens
good video
Thanks
Definitely would have been happy to take them crappie home 😂 those were some slab sandwiches 👌
I definitely thought about it
Stuff happens 😂😂
People cause stuff to happen
Wow that’s crazy
It definitely was
Two reasons I don’t go camping. I don’t trust myself not to make a dumb mistake that causes a fire, and the need to leave the place better than I found it and dealing with the mess of other campers.
Yeah, it's always stressful to be around others who don't care
Really nice crappy and bass. what combo are you using
It's a Lews Speed Spool on a Daiwa Laguna medium heavy casting rod
Given the wind direction that you stated, that fire looks intentionally set. Like they were trying to burn garbage or evidence or something which is very ignorant and dangerous.
It's very possible that it was intentional
What was they poaching?
At a minimum, the bird they killed.
Was it off-season or something?@@wildlifefishingshow
Whoa! crazy!! 😮
Fore sure!
Cant believe that fire u saved the forest and all that trash makes me sick
That forest is more like a woodland
It's a good thing that you were there! nice job taking care of careless people! would have been a disaster if you weren't there!
It was definitely a case of right place, right time
Can’t like this video enough! This is why a lot of places are no longer allowed to be fished. Folks just don’t care!😡
That's true, although I will say that's also the least important impact that these actions could have.
Fire men in their industry..say fire is a living monster...
Great work ..fortunately these are also good folk in the world...
Looked like crow feathers..what the hell?
Handy to have boots on not like in summer..
You got there just in time..
Nice fishin..a fish a cast...
My theory is a cormorant. My real strength of knowledge with wildlife is reptiles, fish, and big cats. I know more than the average person about birds, but comparatively, it's one of my weaker areas.
Not only the fire but all the trash they left behind as well🤬🤬🤬
Makes me angry and sad at the idiocy of people like that
Yeah, it was an all-around example of how not to treat the environment
Good thing the wind wasn't strong!
The tiny red rocks came from my bait fish tank that ended up being thrown into the fire to put it out.
I'm surprised you you got it out pine needles are extremely flammable and that's what's burning your lungs
Yeah, they kept trying to reignite
What rod an reel is that
Lews Speed Spool on a Daiwa Laguna
Wow what the fuck, you got video evidence show it to police for an investigation
I would if anything would come of it, but I've been involved in the conservation industry too long to believe they would do much at all
Time to add some collapsible buckets and towels to the pack🤦♂️
Ha, it gets heavier by the day
@@wildlifefishingshow I always enjoyed Les Stroud’s Survivorman, especially when he showed behind the scenes of what it took for him to setup up all of his cameras and then the one episode where he was so exhausted that he actually left all behind for the crew to recover because getting himself out was all he could manage 👍🏻
You know they had a cooler, that is a small fire pit, I live in southern Oregon and we take that shit very serious. I always bring a shovel as well as plenty of water! A body of water nearby the campsite! Lazy inexcusable bs!
It looks like a starling
Too big to be a starling, and the pattern didn't match. I'm thinking cormorant.
You need to call fish and game!
working progress
People need to respect nature and learn to "Leave No Trace", leave the area better than what you found it. There is a course called "Leave No Trace".
It's shocking how simple it is to not do damage and how many people still do the damage
I don't think these people really care about courses like that they are just ignorant..
That first crappie died. It was leaking pretty bad.
That's a theory
looks like volture feathers
Very possible
Man them crappie were slabs great eating..
They were big
id love to catch some crappie
It was very nice to see some after years of not catching any
People sure are awful
They certainly can be, but others are out there doing incredible work. I have to remind myself of this constantly.
Te fire in north Texas wasn't enough to make these idiots put their fire out!
Right?
I hope you called the police.
They wouldn't have done anything
I hope you got checked for smoke inhalation.@@wildlifefishingshow
Could have been a cigarette flicked on the way out.
Could have been. It just seems the most logical conclusion to make is that it was likely caused by the known source of fire as opposed to a theorized one. Bad either way.
Omg. Smokey was right
Indeed he was
This is why everything posted now days
Largely, but I would say that's the least important impact of actions like these
One hour group
One hour group?
Basically, people who do this suck.
Yeah, I would agree with that assessment
Call it in. If they did it on purpose it's a federal offense and they really don't belong out free.
Nobody is going to go tracking them down, sadly.
I'd like report that. Its probably kids in the area and LE is already aware of them. They probably ran away when the fire got going or saw you fishing and knew they didnt have permission and left. Fish and Game can figure out alot, Id call! The other landowners in the area would probably thank you. Im sure tjats not the only place theyve terrorized.
It was campers. I saw them 20-30 minutes before the fire started...
@@PsychicPsychToad I hear ya. I'd still call it in.
BTW, that's a massive turtle!
Good for you guys!!!! Some shitty humans out there!
Do you resemble that remark?
Much appreciated
@@bouncerslabrealnature9143 this is a weird thing to say
@@bouncerslabrealnature9143did you do it or something
Report it or you could potentially be blamed.
The dirtbags who left that mess had their fingerprints all over that trash and casings. And people of that caliber probably have a record and prints on file.
It's not Law and Order, it doesn't happen like that
@@wildlifefishingshow did you guys just set it for the video?
@@oneofthosepeople2101 I'm sure that kind of dramatic, conspiratorial thinking appeals to your level of intelligence.
@@wildlifefishingshow I wouldn’t put it past someone who is so hungry for views and a drama major.
@@oneofthosepeople2101 I don't think you possess the mental capacity for putting reason behind a single thought you have.

@@wildlifefishingshow😂
wtf?
Same thoughts
Think it might have been a homeless guy?
No, we saw the vehicle and tent of the people "partying."
It's all too easy to assume someone who would do this must be a member of some distrusted out group, but the truth is that a lot of "every day people" do this stuff.
ik you probably always think your a hero and you may be in some situations but there are people that do this for a living man don’t waste your time on idiots call you local fd.
You seem to have a lot of unsolicited assumptions, judgments, and opinions you're dying to share
Future reference get ur mask wet it will filter the smoke
Bro that was not poachers, it was Chinese laser weapons, fess up we know your CIA and were being targetted!
I don't know what to make of this?
Drink your water and put water on your face cover.
I drank plenty of water later, lol.
Has to be a REPUBLICAN drinking coors light
Not likely. ..only Dems drink Pizz. 😂
Really just has to be someone who doesn't appreciate good alcohol to drink Coors, lol
Omg 😱 that’s good not burning all around 👍
It definitely could have been really bad
Your idea that the pit fire started the other fire does not seem logical there would be burnt grass from the pit going that way unless embers blew over there then your title don’t make sense I am thinking you just used a click bait title because the fire scene does not match
Think a little harder, a little longer, a little clearer.
Maybe a Raven
That's possible
Call the game warden.

Good job guys
Much appreciated 🙏
