Sonny. I'm an Indonesian. After the Papua series that you did back then, I tought "okay, this is it the last indonesian strange food series from BEFRS". And now you got this video. Amazing. Respect for you and your whole team
@Baise Duezcke I'm going to tell you, this food, is..very uncommon, i never once eat this, so does all my family and all my friends, i actually don't know anyone who has ever eat the dish.
I'm just an average indonesian and I swear I never heard about this cuisine before. I don't even want to eat it. Surprised how they even managed to get this information. Indonesia's strange foods I know: - Grilled rat, cat, dog, monkey, lizard, snake but this is coming just from one town only. - Clay Soil Yeah that's about it. Not gonna mention cow parts/ insects because those are widely spread across SEA.
@Baise Duezcke this bizarre food only eaten by small number of non muslim people in Indonesia, and as you know the majority of indonesians are muslim, so this is a very rare food, even numbers of non muslim would not eat bizarre foods like this

Its funny when he joked about not surprising your muslim friend with food that has blood in it. I used to trick my ex gf for 4 years and feeding her pork without her knowing (she is muslim). When I told her when we broke up, she got super mad, which I think is quite childish
@@nr1NPC lol dude, i also used to doing that to my moeslem friends back at uni, ordering a pork dish for dinner and tell them after finishing the meal. one of my friend speed running to the toilet try for vomiting what he eat, and the other just mad and then said "is not a sin because we don't know we eat haram food, so the sin transfered to you" i said OK, the one of my friend said " but, it's actually delicious" and we laugh so hard that night.

I've tried so many different types of fish gule in my life, the best one is between Kutacane n Blankejeren. Even better than the best Arsik in Toba, just slightly.
@Cracxy yep, one of my favorite food is called tasak telu in karo it is chicken mixed with chicken blood and spices while here we interpret the name tasak telu meaning cook three and still use the chicken but also replace the blood with 3 special ingredients they are onion, green chili, and lemongrass. Both have the same name but almost completely different
@Cracxy if you are in Indonesia, and in Muslim majority area, than most food are halal. Unless they specifically mention Babi/b2 (pig), snake, etc. Some restaurants put the animal pictures on their stall. Also, franchises have halal certificate logo. If you're in majority non Muslim area, it's the other way around. Muslim food/restaurant usually have halal logo, or there's Arabic writing like "assalamualaikum" in front of their house/warungs (the latter usually found in villages). But don't worry, just ask people. Even if you're in remote places and non Muslim area, if you ask nicely people usually direct you to halal restaurants or just give you veggies...
@Cracxy you don't have to be so vigilant. Everything is clearly said in indonesia, large majority of restaurant are halal and will proudly display their halal certificate so you'll know. If it's not halal, or contain pig etc they will also put that information very clearly. Usually anyways

I love how sonny changed so much, experienced so much in life and became more aware, open, and capable person.
Sonny wins the heart of the of all people for being down to earth. I cannot eat all he eats. Kudos to Sonny!
Trimah kasih Mr suda ke Indonesia 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am amazed at your ability to firstly respect the cultures and countries and people you interact with.
You have a profound love and respect for fellow humans which I admire and mostly keeps me glued to your content. It’s a rare virtue and you are amazing at that.
Secondly. Almost as importantly you are experiencing what only 10% of your viewers would have the guys to do. Some of the food you have consumed is taboo or unthinkable.
But you do this with grace respect and a open mind.
Well done. Keep up the content please.
I'm indonesian and I think he is way more open minded than I am and likes the food more than I do lol
Sonny has been and always will be, my favorite food channel host, he makes me want to try new exciting foods, despite foods I'm picky with, and just try it anyways lol. Mad respect bro.

We sometimes squeeze the stomach content juices as a finishing/Brazing ingredient when cooking internal organs/Afal/uLusu
Thank you for sharing about delicious dishes❤
This programme is the best thing on TV or any platform. Sunny just keeps getting better.
He has the best job on the planet because he actually sees and experiences it. No stone unturned. I love it.
I'm jealous of how deep our beloved host and his team get to dive into all of these cultures.
I love how he wouldn't answer if the religious people got a long lol. There is a reason why there are almost no minorities in Islamic countries anymore.
wrrrg
The guides you find are amazing
Hallo . Im From Taneh Karo . mejuah juah pal 🙏
Here in the northern part of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region, we also use Cow, Carabao and Goat gastric juice in some of our dishes. The only place in the Philippines having similar indigenous ethnic foods from our neighboring asian countries😊
authentic ilocano papaitan pinespes😅
carabao = kerbo (in Karonese)
almost the same with blood dish.. we call it dinuguan right,, but we do mix the meat and some pork intestine together and they call it blood stew😁 so good

As a Karonese, thanks for introduced our culture to the world wide. ❤ Love it
I wish they'd make more of those traditional homes they look amazing
its hard now days cuz a lot of young Karonese like to immigrate to big cities to find jobs and left their village, so not many people know how to built it anymore and young people like to live in modern houses so they forget how to live in the traditional house.
