As far as the calories, there are so many different inputs to it when I did my research with one camp saying that it doesn’t contain any (or negligable at the most) and another saying it does. Therefore, at the time of recording and posting i went with it as though it contains nothing as 1. If you aren’t losing weight, the added calories from it likely isn’t the issue and it’s moreso something else in the diet like not eating enough low calorie density foods and just eating a tonne of junk etc and 2. Most if not everyone who includes it in their recipes on YT don’t factor it in either. That being said, I should have made some sort of disclaimer looking back so i do appologise but as far as safety goes, i did find doses of ~15g per day to still be safe for humans along with there being no definitive ADI for it so I wouldn’t say the amount I use is “dangerous” or “harmful” as that’s clearly not my intention with the video 😂 that also being said, since uploading, I have still been trying a tonne of different combinations and also agree with you that less is actually “more” and that the 2-10g max or ~1tsp seems to be the sweet spot. Yes way too much xanthan. The brand i use(Carrington farms) does have 0 calories per serving on the bag, but the red mill brand has 30 cals per same size serving. I have read multiple places that xanthan gum technically has calories but is not digested so no calories are absorbed like an insoluble fiber. It's weird how different the calorie counts are from different manufacturers though.
