Nice! Met Kingsmen drummer Lynn Easton, way back in 1970...he worked at the same ad agency as my dad. My family went to their house for dinner one night and it was the first and only time I have ever seen a REAL gold record on the wall, and for "Louie Louie" no less. Despite whatever transpired in the group Lynn was very nice to me and he and my dad were good buddies. He passed away a few years ago and I will never forget his sense of humor and friendship to our family.
Wow what a treat, It's such a classic song. Top Shelf Kelly ♪♫♪♫♪
You are rockin! Louie Louie was the very first song I was taught by a childhood friend camping out in the 60's. The Kingsmen version was making radio play. Way to go Kelly Dean Allen. The original back in black if you ask me. Keep em comin my guitar teach. Loved your Aerosmith tutorials and now this.. bless you. Some interesting history on this one...The Kingsmen's recording was the subject of an FBI investigation!!! lololol, so funny in this day and age of stuff ... keep rockin
thanks, KDH! That's a tricky that one no one covers on the YT
Awesome!
Thanks for posting this!
I will always remember the late Dan Gallagher (God rest his soul) singing this song on Much Music.
Great Job KDA, wanted to compare yours to what I had figured out, got it very close... Thanks
The drums really made that song too.
Cool solo and nicely played Kelly. Looking forward to trying to learn this. Thank You
Get two in the bag, learn Wild Thing by the Troggs
Same chords and I get the two songs mixed up all the time.
Wicked solo !!!
Thanks 👍🏻
Having my "Animal House" flashback....lol.
Kelly, if you get a chance check out Slash's new album of covers. Best Wah Work I have ever heard. The two of you are great guitar players and I think you'll get a kick out of the best solo work I have ever heard him play. From "So What" to "Papa was a Rolling Stone, " and "The Pusher." He really proves he is on top of his game. PS thanks for this Louie Louie.
How about the song I Need Somebody Tonight by Fosterchild.
Correct chords for this song (in A): A-D-Em
Perhaps if played with a lot of distortion is doesn't matter, but otherwise I think you really have to play the E as an E minor. It is quite noticeable on the original.
truth, read that in the "you are playing it wrong" column they used to run in Guitar Player. Makes a big difference to my ear!
At least he mentioned that the fifth is a minor, most cover acts skip that essential chord entirely. I'm sure if Wolf Marshal disected the song, he would go into deep elaboration about the minor! Hahahaha!
"Fast" Eddie Clarke's version was way better, ruclips.net/video/WDP7_h4wkgw/видео.html , but if it hadn't of been written, they couldn't of played it.
