A house build is completed. A home is a work in progress. As you stay in your new home, the personality of the home will start to shine. Take your time.
Forget about you? I have been in withdrawals waiting for you to post again. As you were doing your tour, my eyes were drawn immediately to the gorgeous floors and doors (and stairs) in every room. The wood finishes look fabulous. And I agree with you that the fluffy white towels in the upstairs bathroom really are the finishing touch that makes that already wonderful space and design look so elegant. Great job, Abby!
First dream came true. Congratulations and the lovely thing to see (for me as a Dutch man from Amsterdam) is that there are modest and gracious Americans aswel. I've been following your development from the beginning of this channel and your enthusiasm about every improvement in the project was inspiring. Your reactions to the arrival and install of the front door or the new roof, Seth saving the bay window construction and all the work Jay has been doing were genuine and an inspiration to being grateful in general. Happy new year and make sure to fully charge your battery before jumping in another huge project, that is an investment you will not regret. But most of all grant yourself time to enjoy what you've achieved, and take your time to pick the rugs and furniture you absolutely love so you'll make your house your home and not a soulless showroom
An electric fireplace under the TV would look great! Since you don't have a fireplace in your house, turning on the flames, would bring some beautiful ambience! I use mine, just to see the flames, I rarely use the heat in it.
Nope, there’s no way we could forget about you. ☺️ Absolutely loved going on this journey with you right from the beginning. There’s always a time for rest and a time for work. Enjoy both.
It has been wonderful to watch you renovate your home! Sorry to hear you were sick and glad you and Gomer are feeling better. Giving yourself a break to one video a week is totally fine. You have worked so hard the last 2+ years and you deserve to slow down! Happy New Year!
Things look great. You can’t expect everything to be decorated quickly. It takes so much dreaming and just living until you feel satisfied, and then you have new ideas to make changes. This is life.
Oh Abby, you're gonna have to convince that friend that she doesn't want that bed back...because it is perfect for you. Put a bed skirt on and it will always look fancy! I thrilled to see you settling in so nicely. Looking forward to a video with you and Jay having coffee at the kitchen counter or out on the porch. Just sit back and enjoy all your hard work.
@@BluegrassprincessI was wondering what Jay is doing. Probably lost with nothing to do. 😂 I think an interview is a great idea. All the different aspects of the house, how it all came together. And what is the plan for the outside. I know Abby touched on some ideas.
It looks absolutely beautiful. You have a very nice piece of land and home. You've made a great decision when you bought this place. I bet the kittens are so happy you are there now. Your patents must be so proud. I remember when you first showed this place, what a transformation
Seriously …. you worked so hard for so long you deserve a long rest! And Jay too! Take care of you first , we’ll be here for you when you return! Your house is amazing you are an inspiration for young ladies! Enjoy your new 🏠 😊
It feels good to relax after being tired. You've done a good job these two years and made your dream come true. You have more dreams ahead. Happy for you Abby.
I love that you had a vision for making this house your home and you went for it! You did it Abby, with Jay, your parents, and others of course, but you did make it your home. It is a very lovely home. Thanks for deciding to film your journey, create a RUclips channel, and share it. I have enjoyed every minute of it. Have a beautiful blessed night. 🙏
Oh you sweet girl, you have worked a full time job and completely renovated your home, while doing this U-Tube channel! 😳 Exhausted? I would have ended up hospitalized 😂 Bless you for entertaining us. 🙏💕
After three years of hard work I would do nothing for the month of January. Relax, rest, heal and enjoy your new home. February: finish inside. March: head outside! I’m so proud of you. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Are you going to invite the people that used to live in that house to see the finished look? feel that they will love the changes that you did to the old house. Such a drastic change.
So happy for you and your sister!!! Missing Jay but I'm sure we'll see him again soon! Take care of yourself and we'll be here when you post. We could never forget about you! Congrats again sweetie!!!❤🎉😊
So glad you’re back, Abby. You’re my favorite RUclipsr to watch. I like the contrast between the metal bed and the wood floor. Love your bed quilt too. Congrats on your move.
Just a suggestion. put felt furniture caps on the bottom of all the furniture to keep from scratching and gouging the floors. also makes it easier to move the furniture by yourself. Also, you mentioned your sister is not crazy about cats. maybe put a rag bath towel on the chairs for when no one is sitting on the chairs/couch. This way when she wants to sit, she can fold the towel and put it on the floor beside the chair then put it back when she is done. I know from experience that they do not like to have fur on their clothes either. The house looks good. No rush on painting and stuff till you can open windows.
Abby, I am SO EXCITED to see this! Give yourself some time to recover - you need that after all of the months and years of work. We will still be here, waiting for more!
Wow those hanging racks in the laundry room are amazing- I wish we could get those here in New Zealand- now I know why you filled the drying drawers. So smart !
Take a break, you deserve it. Gives you time to regroup and refresh yourself. I heard a quote, "Everything works better when you unplug and restart and that includes you." It's so true!
You can put peg board over the slats for the bed so the sheets dont fall through the slats. Do you need some furniture coasters under the legs from the bed to protect the floor? When you came down the stairs your home looked like it came out of a magazine. What a transformation from where you started. Your Home.
That bedframe is so perfect for your room. That gold metal adds a extra element of style to the room...love it. You should get a bed skirt for it. You might want to measure the length from the floor to the bedframe ledge that the mattress sits on. Personally I have the kind that has an elastic band around the top of the skirt so you don't have to take off the mattress if it needs washed. Also, you can use storage bins under the bed that nobody can see.
After three years of pushing hard, you NEED a break - mind, body and soul! Do not feel bad for taking some time off. Burnout is real and nothing to dismiss. You can slow down for a bit now and smell the roses - enjoy the process of picking out the FUN stuff. Don't let RUclips dictate the timing of anything. Congratulations!
Perhaps wrapping a vinyl tablecloth around the plywood would work for a temporary counter. Everything looks great. I especially like the staircase & railing.
After 3 years...just take that breather. The "heavy lifting" is done inside, and you need this break to re-energize for the new year. Take as much time as you need, enjoy your beautiful home and you'll get that "pep in your step" back and want to start tackling what's left, but over time.
I am so happy to see you and Trudy in your home that you worked so hard to bring back to the present time. Take your time in choosing your decor, and I think once a week for videos will be fine. You also need to take some time for yourself to get totally well and your immune system built up. Your bed is lovely and you might think about a bed skirt in a color that matches one in your beautiful quilt. That will solve the problem of the sheet showing. Thanks so much for sharing this tour and have a Blessed day. Oh...also get a cheap plastic table cloth to put down on the cabinet top where you are preparing food so it can be wiped off easily, until your counter tops get installed.
i'm an older guy.....watched your mom and dads for a year or two ......started watching yours......a bit too ..too for me........but i did watch some and i'm so happy for your accomplishment...
Abby one video would be good,I think you have been working so hard with holding down a job and doing a house, you have hit a wall. You need to relax a bit for the spring.Dont run yourself into bad health. As for decorating you have your whole life in front of you to shop for things.Glad your in your new home.Happy New Year to you Jay and your sister.❤️🥰
Your house is looking good. Hanging plants are really good when you have cats. I have the vine type and my cat leaves it alone. You can hang it up to the ceiling as it grows and it looks really cool.
What about adding an electric fireplace framed in wood like a surround with mantel? It would really add warmth ambiance to the LR, and definitely need rugs to cozy up the spaces.
It is so good to see your happy face Abby. You were so missed by all. The house looks fantastic. Take your time, and get whatever you want for this gorgeous dream house of yours. There is lots of time now to sit back and ponder your needs. Take care of yourself
Hi Abby! My goodness..you need and deserve this down time. You have been working so hard for the last 3 years! It's unbelievable how much you and your Drill & Dream Team has accomplished in really a short time taking into consideration you did it in working a full-time job. Thank you for popping in to say hi and I can't wait to see your beautiful kitchen complete and what exciting projects spring brings for your little homestead. Happy New Year!
Your new home is so beautiful and a labor of love. Decorating over time is a great idea, It all takes time. Pinterest is a great resource for decorating inspiration.
Happy New Year! Glad youre feeling better and in the mood for the next phase of turning your 100+ year old house into a home. Please know that we will be here to see your progress.
You deserve a break, Abby! Enjoy settling in to your beautiful home…You worked hard for it! Everything looks so fresh and nice! Yes, speaking for myself, I missed you! I was so excited to see you had posted today! ❤
Glad to see you again. Glad you're feeling better. Sometimes we just gotta have some rest. The bed looks awesome. Looks like the cat has grown! Beautiful house. I think that it takes living in a space for a while to figure out how you want things. I've been in this house forever and I still move things around. but you sure did make some great choices when designing all your spaces. Couldn't have done any better.😊
Love how things turn out in your home. I hope you are going to work on that back deck or porch by your patio door. So you can enjoy that space too. Take time to live in your home. Then you will see what you need and want. 😊
So glad you’re back. Just enjoy your home Abby. I’m slowly updating my home and enjoying the process. You will get there. Don’t rush. Just take it all in. ❤
I love that you are shopping second hand and vintage. it will take weeks and months and years to get every room the way you want it and slowly it will evolve. But it will be so very personal because you are choosing one item at a time and one place at a time. Enjoy. The hunt is so much fund. Love the bed.
So nice to see you enjoying your lovely home after all the hard work you put in, Abby! The bed is lovely. If you can't find a suitable replacement for the TV bookshelf, you could always build one :-D
This is so wonderfully satisfying to see. Congratulations! Also, Happy New Year! I like the idea of one video a week pretty much permanently. No need to drive yourself nuts.
Beautiful home Abby!! When you hang the tv make sure it’s at eye level when you’re sitting across from it. Hanging it too high can give you neck problems. Plus it looks better when it’s lower. 🎉
Thanks so much. Take care of yourself. Not too long and your job will slow down . The days will be longer. Everything will be done eventually! Here on west coast we have short days also. Eugene oregon
Hi Abby, you is such a good job designing your home. You have thought of so many things to keep eveything in its place but handy. You have worked so hard for three years so why not take January and February to recuperate from all the hard you e been doing for the last three years, enjoy these months to just look around for the furniture an all the decoration you want durning these winte month so you are up for the spring outdoor jobs. I Love your house and all the things 24:38 you and Jay did in it. I also love those adorable kittens and am glad you let them stay in the house as they will be so much company and give you lots of laughs. You and Jay did an awesome job!!!!! Have enjoyed your videos and looked forward to the next time.
We certainly did not forget about you. I've been waiting, patiently? It's nice that you have the laundry room sink to use while you wait for your countertops. It must be strange for Jay to have a different situation going on at the house. Can't wait to see what fun purchases you make for house decor. Now that you’re in, you can take more time to check off the to do list. Enjoy!
Abby! We are so happy for you 🥲 Please relax and enjoy this space of enjoying the fruits of your labor. There will always be more to do so there’s no rush to get it all done now! God Bless You, Everyone Who has helped and Your Beautiful Home 🏡
Abby may God bless your house and all who enter it. You deserve your rest. You you have come so far and you have a bit further to go. Will enjoy watching your future videos. As you beautify the outside
The house looks great! For your counter tops you could buy some oil cloth to put over the plywood then you can wipe it off when done. When your counter pops are installed the oil cloths can be used on a picnic table.
I have been going crazy without your videos 😂 I kept checking RUclips to see if you had uploaded any new videos. Welcome back. Cannot wait for a new one😊
foot board ... Get a plastic table cloth (heavy) to put on kitchen counters, then you can wipe easy for cooking, until your counters come in. the house turned out so nice. Congrats!
So good to see you back! Its got to be the best feeling living in your dream house. I am looking forward to upcoming videos of this next phase of making your house into your home.
Welcome back, Abby!!! I've missed you, but rest, family and celebration are all an important part of your journey. Please say hello to Jay and let him know how much we have missed him as well. I m so glad that you're taking the time to let your home tell you how to decorate and that you are open to previously loved furniture and items. It makes for a layered, timeless, and curated feel. It does take more time, oh, but so worth it in the long run. Just be patient for the pieces that you ❤️ Until next time... Happy New Year!!!
Hi Abbie I think a good rest was definitely needed. I hope you take us with you, when you go shopping pleeeeaaaaasssse 🙏🏻 That’s the fun part I think. Glad you’re feeling better. Elly from Manchester, UK
Missed you....glad your back. Glad you took the time to enjoy what you worked so hard for. Pray you feel better, and thanks for sharing your new home with us.
You guys are amazing the house is beautiful and you guys did a wonderful job with the house especially for Jay did such a great job helping you out God bless y'all ❤

Be sure to buy some pads to protect your beautiful bedroom floors. The metal frame will eventually scratch the floor.

I think the little dresser you refinished is perfect for your bedroom. It makes a great nightstand.
An electric fireplace under the TV would look great! Since you don't have a fireplace in your house, turning on the flames, would bring some beautiful ambience! I use mine, just to see the flames, I rarely use the heat in it.
Good idea! 👍🏼

Be neat for her to do something special for Jay and interview him on the highlights of each project. Or his favorite Abby request
I was thinking she could buy it off her friend, if she is willing to sell it? Probably should get a better understanding of what her friend wants.
@@BluegrassprincessI was wondering what Jay is doing. Probably lost with nothing to do. 😂

She, Gomer had to be on guard outside! Inside, she can truly relax!
It looks absolutely beautiful. You have a very nice piece of land and home. You've made a great decision when you bought this place. I bet the kittens are so happy you are there now. Your patents must be so proud. I remember when you first showed this place, what a transformation
I like the bed because it is not bulky, and I think you have enough wood in the floors. .. Keep it airy and light. ❤

I love metal beds!! They don’t fill up a room too much and are not heavy looking, but still decorative!
You can even find a cute nightstand at the antique stores or a thrift store or something you can even DIY from a thrift store

You deserve a break, Abby! Enjoy settling in to your beautiful home…You worked hard for it! Everything looks so fresh and nice! Yes, speaking for myself, I missed you! I was so excited to see you had posted today! ❤
Footboard is correct. And I hate them when making the bed. 😂
Everything is beautiful. All your hard work paid off. So now just relax a little and enjoy 😊
I think an iron bed frame fits the age of your house. It was very common back then to have an iron framed bed. Looks great!
Abby ,put a bed ruffle shirt around the botto of the bed . I have a beaded curtain instead of a door to my walking closit .I like it very mush .
Yes antique furniture is perfect love your house. Has so much character.........
Just an idea, but maybe cover the thin temporary countertop with a vinyl tablecloth. Just staple it on the wood.
Trays and worktop savers would also be useful.
Love how things turn out in your home. I hope you are going to work on that back deck or porch by your patio door. So you can enjoy that space too. Take time to live in your home. Then you will see what you need and want. 😊
I recently rewatched your first video. You and Jay brought it a long way. The house is beautiful.
Decorating is really the hardest part. So many options. You'll get it done eventually, don't hurry.
Glad you’re back! Your house has a typical craftsman style, a place for everything!❤️
This is so wonderfully satisfying to see. Congratulations! Also, Happy New Year!
I like the idea of one video a week pretty much permanently. No need to drive yourself nuts.
YEEEES!!! You went MIA and I was wondering if your channel was over. Don’t go anywhere, we’re addicted 😂
Like many RUclipsrs, Abby misquotes the last line from the John Milton poem: On His Blindness.
“They also serve who only stand and wait. “
cant wait to see some garden and backyard renovations. A walk in woods would be great too.
Put a curtain rod with a nice curtain over your closet. Still accessible but able to cover it if you want.
Beautiful home Abby!! When you hang the tv make sure it’s at eye level when you’re sitting across from it. Hanging it too high can give you neck problems. Plus it looks better when it’s lower. 🎉
Abby you needed a break, your home is coming along nicely, look forward to seeing your next video, your enthusiasm is always
so delightful 👍
So exciting !! Congrats for moving in.
Thanks so much. Take care of yourself. Not too long and your job will slow down . The days will be longer.

Great job Abby, everything is coming together! Now comes the fun stuff!
Congratulations on moving in. Now you can take your time putting on all the finishing touches and decor.
Time to build something else,,,
nice on the property. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
The house looks great! For your counter tops you could buy some oil cloth to put over the plywood then you can wipe it off when done. When your counter pops are installed the oil cloths can be used on a picnic table.

Just be patient for the pieces that you ❤️
Until next time...
Happy New Year!!!
I’m not surprised you’re exhausted. Try to slow down & enjoy your beautiful home now. You did an amazing job.
