Top notch stuff! Always seen the trains heading in your direction but never knew what they actually did! Always good to see the other side of the rail operations! Definitely need to get some model railway stuff done from Ashville! How about some lorries eh ;)
My four-year-old son loves his trains and trucks and diggers. We often come down to Kent, so he will be looking out for your trucks en route. We love your video, thank you. It’s absolutely awesome.😎✌️
I liked the idea of the insta 360 only problem was I felt really dizzy from watching the footage, great video as always and appriciate you trying different things
For us model railroaders, this is a nice glimpse at how things are done and offers some great information about how to model it along with potential operations too.
As a woman who worked for 3 years with a forklift (and other machines), Ashville weekly has become my Sunday treat. Love your stuff. Great work Dan, Will, and Flo.
Regarding the wagons mentioned at 16:30 , the side tippers. As an ex rail worker, they are indeed in the uk as we used them for large scale renewal projects. After the fresh base material, sleepers and rail were in place, the wagon would run on the adjacent line and tip, dropping the fresh ballast 1 wagon at a time along the length of the job. The part after involved a shovel and wasnt as interesting
Hi, new subscriber, really impressed with the content of these videos, watched the last two episodes and this is an example of British business at it's best. Well done lads.....
Daniel, the gravity drop wagons would work. The discharge chute would have to be near the entrance of your property where it connects to the rail line in order to access all the cars. Back in completely, unload front to back as the locomotive pulls up. A minor issue with anything over 18 wagons as somewhere in the process you would have to move cars to the secondary line.
The amount of skill and production quality in the video editing is insane - amazing job guys. I first started watching at the very beginning, and the video dept has grown tremendously
Great test on the cameras capabilities. I have to say I am impressed with the quality of the camera and the multiple ways of getting a better quality image or footage. I would be happy to own one but it's out of my price range. However, if the price comes down in the near future it would be very useful for my new website and recording studio. Anywho, the lads and your good self really put it through its pacess. stay safe J.
Wow, no idea how i was guided here but im glad i was. Brilliant video. The sort of rail ballast yard that you only see from a passing train and never see anything going on. Must be a lovely working atmosphere there. Hopefully there are more like this, ill be looking out now. 👍👍
Fantastic vid as always and another fascinating insight into your business. I'm a HGV driver myself so see a lot of what you do daily myself but still find it all very interesting. Well done Daniel.
Great video! Entertaining on-the-go explanation by a charismatic presenter backed up by a well trained team. What's not to like? Thanks, Ashville team.
Something that might help the excavator operator is a wireless camera looking into the wagons. We use backup cameras around the farm all the time and its good and cheap solution if you need to keep an eye on something without climbing out of the tractor.
I commented a few weeks ago saying I was a little board of seeing fill in bits of train offloading , a full video on the subject was what was needed , great job Ashville team
Great video as always. Love the camera work. Always interesting when the videos contain trains, asI work in the rail industry. This video especially intetesting as you've shown the whole process. Please keep up the good work Daniel. You have a great team of people. Looking forward to thenext video.
Must say I did enjoy that . I am a rail enthusiast and enjoyed the behind the scenes look at how you unload the box wagons . You now have to convince GBRf to paint a class 66 in Ashville Black and yellow livery like your Trucks .😎
Unreal Content as always Dan. Serious video. Would love a Video of an in-depth Yard tour to see all operations in full swing and what takes place where. Also a Day in the life of some of your lorry drivers would be cool.
@Andreika Kapeika it could but not practical when trying to quickly offload the train, also it doesn’t have scales like the loaders so if ot was going off site you wouldn’t know how much material to charge for accurately
If you are doing unloading like this on regular basis you can get machines similar to Walinga Barge Unloader. You can get pneumatic or auger ship unloader in all sizes and capacity. It can suck one train wagon in a mere minutes...
Nice video and great information. On the subject of fines, Network Rail do have to pay rail freight (or passenger) companies if a train is delayed or cancelled because of Network Rail. Likewise said train companies have to pay if they delay anything (including their own services). There is a lot of money moving about with Train Delay Attribution but that never gets filtered down to terminals and companies like yours!
The yard you’re in used to have bottom unload facility back in the 1990’s. I can’t remember who owned the facility but it was mainly supplied by Bardon Aggregates.
9 otta 10 score on that camera filming buy 10 more then you can place them enywhere make awesome recordings. Looks f, amazing the 360 shot from the elevated excavator :D give that camera guy a extra pad on the back well done and the vid editor for the fire music and killer scene switches !:D
I would love to see a video of where the aggregates come from and where they get used, like the journey of a grain of sand, and I mean in detail like from how the aggregates were formed millions of years ago and when they become part of a building and how long they will last
A freight train unloaded in seconds in the middle of my hometown in North Carolina in 1984. The entire train pulling tankers full of methanol derailed in the center of town. Everoyone for a mile radius was evacuated due to a possible massive explosion. Luckily it didn't happen. Ever since then I've loved trains and how they operate. This video is very interesting. Learn something every day.
This seems old fashioned to me... I'm used to seeing pit offloading and conveyor belts in aggregate suppliers rail yards. And the coolest thing is the remote controlled locomotive.
her in us we wold unload the stofe from buttom from hatch on the car and it loads into conveyor belt and loads into a silo or in your case a little holding area
The Insta360 is useful for amazing POV driving videos from the rear window, GTA style. Thanks for showing us the different angles! I'm definitely getting one now.
Not really a fan of the Insta 360° 🤳 camera. I do not like the "round" distortion created and it makes me a bit 🥴 dizzy, distracting from my viewing pleasure and experience. The videos and editing are excellent overall and Daniel, you are natural in front of the camera mate!
On the day I meet Daniel I wanna say to him “Grow up”!!!! I had all the assets he has around the yard in my toys box as a kid and he seems to have never left that age 😅😅😅. Another great video 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Great video as ever! Top work. Just a quick idea. It might be useful having some cameras up high like on the water tower looking over the yard that you could put in the time lapse mode so you can get shots of the trains unloading and general content for the weekly videos. Keep up the good work
Great content, as always. If you could do " A-day in the life of a London City lorry driver" with 360s it would be cool. Think of all the close shaves with disaster and how tricky it is to maneuver safely... maybe not, in hindsight....
The largest train comes from the mendips and is up to 4500tons 2000feet in length. Pulled by one class 59. With locomotives on the railway it’s about tractive effort and starting torque not totally Horse power. Max load for a class 66 that you have here is route gradient depending but usually 2000ton max. The viewing of the train as it leaves the yard is called a ‘roll by exam’ and is to ensure there are no locked axles or dragging brakes.
Daniel, you should design a side discharge rail car for over there, build a couple, then lease them to the railroad and see if they catch on. I would imagine they would
Things we didn’t realize ONE X2 is perfect for: Freight train offloading videos ✅🤣 Thanks for the awesome lesson, Daniel 🙌
The camera looks so good in this video especially at 10:20 . Gonna have to check it out :)
also possible without the logo?
What's better than a Train offloading montage? A train offloading video!
That's was a great video! Keep it up guys!
Should do a video of day in the life of a skip driver showing delivering and picking up skips. Showing tipping full skip at the yard
This is the video the whole channel has been waiting for. You should do more videos about the train because everyone loves it.
Top notch stuff! Always seen the trains heading in your direction but never knew what they actually did! Always good to see the other side of the rail operations! Definitely need to get some model railway stuff done from Ashville! How about some lorries eh ;)

Yes same here.
I was the same lol good footage just dizzy
Mad Respect for Flo! working with equipment you have never operated.. AND maintaining a schedule is not easy to do..
As someone that will have worked on the train plan for this schedule, it's interesting to see it from another perspective.
Daniel your really a true inspiration and to any young person watching your video. Mad respect to you and your team .
Love the surprise videos out of nowhere. Big inspiration.
Insta360 must be proud of their sponsorship here with the longest running advert they've probably ever had for this amazing product.. good job Daniel

That last angle at 10:45 is the best. ... Scratch that ... all the angles are great.
Hi, new subscriber, really impressed with the content of these videos, watched the last two episodes and this is an example of British business at it's best. Well done lads.....
man this is alot of work , but man the motivation from here is really good and nothing is too much is you have a passion
Nothing beats Ashville on YT 👊🏾🥇
Daniel, the gravity drop wagons would work. The discharge chute would have to be near the entrance of your property where it connects to the rail line in order to access all the cars. Just came across the channel via sticker man.. Great set of videos... Really enjoy your enthusiasm and professionalism on all things you do...
Need a video in real time off the train being unloaded....straight up no nonsense. I'd watch the lot
Great test on the cameras capabilities. I have to say I am impressed with the quality of the camera and the multiple ways of getting a better quality image or footage. I am impressed with your videographer and the results.
This GUY should be a Movie Director. Look he made us watch trains and trucks ❤❤
Love seeing the train off loading and getting a birds eye view of how it gets done is just amazing. Big up Ashville an crew💕
Great video! Entertaining on-the-go explanation by a charismatic presenter backed up by a well trained team. What's not to like?
Thanks, Ashville team.
Love the shots of the 360
Something that might help the excavator operator is a wireless camera looking into the wagons. We use backup cameras around the farm all the time and its good and cheap solution if you need to keep an eye on something without climbing out of the tractor.
Oh just saw it comes with them already installed, should have known my aincient equpment was lacking a bit.
I commented a few weeks ago saying I was a little board of seeing fill in bits of train offloading , a full video on the subject was what was needed , great job Ashville team
That 360 camera is awesome too!
lol it may have been your comment that made us want to do this! AND the new WARNING in Weekly! 😎
I guarantee there is not another channel in this industry giving this kind of content. Dope video!
That's actually the best thing I've seen done with this camera.
Dan with his Tonker toys 😂👍
First time watching one of your videos and you had my sub by the time the train rolled over the camera! Quality shots big man!
Hi Daniel
Great videography mate Will and the rest of the team are a credit to you great content thanks Daniel😊😊😊😊
Great video as always. Love the camera work. Always interesting when the videos contain trains, asI work in the rail industry. This video especially intetesting as you've shown the whole process. Please keep up the good work Daniel. You have a great team of people. Looking forward to thenext video.
Excellent, the mighty classic 66 AKA “The Ying Ying”, the noise from the super charger from the EMD 710 2 striker engine
Love this guys energy. Inspring! Wish to meet the Ashville group one day! :)
Great amazing shot with the 360 👊
Must say I did enjoy that . I am a rail enthusiast and enjoyed the behind the scenes look at how you unload the box wagons . You now have to convince GBRf to paint a class 66 in Ashville Black and yellow livery like your Trucks .😎
love the videos love your office routine a great deal loved your show from Canada
Excellent camera footage 👌 love your videos Daniel keep them coming very impressive 👏
What a video !! Those 360 shots really gave it a whole new perspective, which was very cool !
those shots from under the train and on the crane realy show to great possibility of a 360 camera. Amazing shots :)
Wow like an art installation video worthy of viewing in a gallery very very well done
that spinning shot was actually pretty sick
Unreal Content as always Dan. Serious video. Would love a Video of an in-depth Yard tour to see all operations in full swing and what takes place where. Also a Day in the life of some of your lorry drivers would be cool.
I'm a videographer, not really into the 360. However with that being said this is actually a very nice camera and outputs high quality video.
When off loading, you can save time by not stopping for the material to drop.
Continue rotating and emptying seamlessly without changing direction.
Might be a safety hazard since other equipment and people are around and the space isnt all that big
By swinging the other way it stops you getting dizzy. I know this from a small 3 ton machine, but I guess same applies for the bigger machines.
@@HurairahGT1 H&S is paramount in there yard. No issues. All about the feel, it'll come
You get dizzy, thats why you stop and swing opposite direction
@Andreika Kapeika it could but not practical when trying to quickly offload the train, also it doesn’t have scales like the loaders so if ot was going off site you wouldn’t know how much material to charge for accurately
that camera improves the videos quite a bit. keep it up boys
Now this is amazing - Thank you Daniel for this video very informative keep up the good work. 🥰🥰🥰🌹🌹🌹
Dogs cajones as usual Daniel. Great work by all, especially Flo', clearing that train & young Wil' for the video. Onwards & upwards Ashville.

Great work Daniel and Will ! Great camera shots and content ;)
10:46 bro that's sum good shot right there 😊
Thank you Daniel and the team, you've made my day with an unexpected treat when I got home from work to eat my tea! 🤗
I also eat tea
Absolutely smashed it.
Brilliant!!!
Fantastic video that felt like a combo of Dirty Jobs, How it's Made, and your favorite vlogger.
I like how there's a time crunch but they're stopping the bloke every 10 mins and using 3 minutes to reset up a camera.
That was a Serious video. You & the team nail that. Well done flow for going up & down to let young Wilson change the camera, with out having a break.
Ashville does such a good job content and work wise. Cheers from Canada.
Great vid .Wilson getting the shots 👌

This was a good change in the perspective can't wait for you guys to change up the recordings & flo is the best when it comes to unloading the train!

Another great vid. Just watching in bed before going to the big match today. The mighty Terriers v QPR. May the best team win.
Omg those 360 camera shots/edits were unreal! Great perspective and great vid.
her in us we wold unload the stofe from buttom from hatch on the car and it loads into conveyor belt and loads into a silo or in your case a little holding area
This is a great video on the technical working of your yard
Love the video and all the new cams and new angles for all the vids absolutely stunning vids keep up the work guys
Big up ashville content is fire . drill instrumentals are mad also.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love the initiative on How we do of loading in saving and utilising operational costs.
hi Daniel
saw one of your trucks in Swindon this morning, to see, as I am an avid follower of your operation 😀
Great video .. question if there a break down with the crane what happens?? Is there a back up plan.
I've learnt so much watching this channel!
The Insta360 is useful for amazing POV driving videos from the rear window, GTA style. Thanks for showing us the different angles! I'm definitely getting one now.

I’ve always been curious if someone has to get in there with a shovel to clean them out fully
huge vacuum cleaner..
Best camera angles you have ever done.
Coolest video ashville has made, some great shots
Love the camera work and subject 👍👍
On the day I meet Daniel I wanna say to him “Grow up”!!!! I had all the assets he has around the yard in my toys box as a kid and he seems to have never left that age 😅😅😅. Another great video 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Great video again Daniel. Happy Easter.
All cracking shots
I watch every Sunday without fail
Great video as ever! Top work.
Just a quick idea. It might be useful having some cameras up high like on the water tower looking over the yard that you could put in the time lapse mode so you can get shots of the trains unloading and general content for the weekly videos.
Keep up the good work
Excellent!! Really insightful & helped answer a number of questions.
halfway through and awesome like usual!
3 metres of seriousness 😂 another great video Dan love the ashville graft 👊
Just found your channel Daniel very entertaining also you are very enterprising
Great content, as always. If you could do " A-day in the life of a London City lorry driver" with 360s it would be cool. Think of all the close shaves with disaster and how tricky it is to maneuver safely... maybe not, in hindsight....
I'm a 360 op......id bloody love a play on that LH60....its an awesome tool
