This is honestly a gift from Capcom to gamers. They made so playing every major megaman game, except the legends series (yet) is super easy, accessible and with some new goodies. I wish other companies would do that. Imagine a Castlevania legacy collection, Zelda legacy collection, pokemon legacy collections with all GBA and DS games plus minor changes, updates, goodies. And they are doing it right, honoring the entries, unlike say the GTA trilogy for instance.

I religiously followed the Battle Network and Star Force games back in 2003-2009, and I can assure you, Capcom meant to end the Battle Network series with Battle Network 6. When I first heard about Battle Network 6 in 2005, Capcom went on record to say it is the "Final Installment". They wouldn't have said that if they had possible plans for a Battle Network 7. The sense of finality towards Battle Network 6's end was made on purpose. Besides, how in the world can a Battle Network 7 "bridge the gap" between Battle Network and Star Force? Though Star Force is set 2 centuries after Battle Network, Star Force 1, 2 and 3's plot has no ties to the Battle Network era, because in the Star Force series, Internet technology is gone, replaced by radio wave technology.

If the games are the original Japanese versions retranslated it should mean two things.
1: Restored content. Most notably the maps, Immortal Area, Graveyard 2, Hakushaku and Django in MMBN6.
2: Retranslated means fixed grammar and spelling errors. This mostly affects BN4, but it also fixes the "What am i" and "OldMine" find-and-replace typos in BN5. (and "you're mouth" in BN6)

Different transformations are enough gameplay spice up to change everything. Have you seen the number of diff possible folders and how many are tied to specific Souls/Crosses? When the entire core gameplay is the combat system and the combat system isn't actually just Buster spam, transformations literally make up the entire games and so why wouldn't anyone play at least 4-6 twice for the diff gameplay experience?
Repeating BN4 6x just to get all 12 Souls across both games will indeed be very annoying, but Buster MAX Mode will help a ton with the annoying random encounters in the annoying sidequests. It lets us breeze through the story mode super fast too, just skip cutscenes and spam buster, I'm sure it won't be as intolerable

1:40 so before you mentioned the alternate versions, is the first roll the official main cannon path? (Blue Ver., Red Sun, Team Colonel & Gregar)??? I've seen another review video of someone explaining that it's recommended that you choose which version of BN6 to pick first before playing BN4 because the game is split into two slightly alternate cannons; mostly based on which characters appear. On one playthrough there are: Blue Moon, Team Colonel & Falzar. On the other side we have: Red Sun, Team Colonel & Gregar. The reason for Team Protoman not being cannon is because of the game release structure. Unlike BN4, BN5's versions were released 2 months apart. This was obviously a marketing tactic involving greed. Despite having that said apparently capcom treated the more updated version (Team Colonel) as cannon. As far as plot goes, this is a problem for Team Protoman because BN6 was built and written with Team Colonel as the basis and are vital plot important characters in BN6. In Team Protoman, Baryl & Colonel rarely make an appearance confusing new players in BN6 with little to no knowledge of the these two characters. So depending on your game choice, they'll either appear more mysterious or as old friends. But the uploader never mentioned BN3.

It certainly misleads the audience especially at 7:15 where you refer to used copies but show a sealed copy. The other two you show are CIB which are expected to be priced competitively as well. On average cartridge only copies are listed on eBay at around $50-$60 per piece. Your point that the Legacy Collection is cheaper in value is still valid, but it seems you grabbed the screenshots rather in favor of the argument. Just saying.

honestly, the main thing i'd be concerned about is the retention of Boktai content, like sure you technically see Otenko on a poster in one of BN4's versions, but it's kind of another thing to include a self-insert of Hideo Kojima; like Konami is probably mad for royalties and would definitely shove Boktai under the bus, but it'd be kind of a miracle for them to be A-OK with the Kojima cameo.
Also, if they include E-Reader Mod Cards in some way like the Zero Collection (DS) already has done, it'd be neat if they actually made the jump for the english versions of 5 and 6. the E-Reader functionality for 4 is coded in western localisations entirely fine but disabled. there's people who did reverse-engineer the Japanese cards and created english-functional variants. (assuming you enabled the menu previously).
It might also help that all E-Reader content is actually on-cart, and isn't simply just information that's generated by the cards themselves. (rather than being like the Super Mario Advance 4 series cards. people HAS made custom level cards for that game). Zero 3 and 4's E-Reader content were just internal game flags, which got localized.

@@hammylove821 i guess the Boktai IP might be fine, but having Kojima standing there just sounds like they're giving affiliation with the company. like poeple would probably know Kojima produced Boktai but it's a lot less of an issue compared to Metal Gear Solid.
Even dominos pizza in japan had to delete their Hatsune Miku ads showing the CEO because they stood down. probably just boils down to if Konami wouldn't ask for much royalties just to show Django+Boktai elements at all or what, or if they'd just pull a full Namco and edit over him like they did with Ms Pac-Man.

imo, I think the $60 price tag for both collections at once is still a decent price and not really much of a con, per se. Because it's $60 for 10 whole games, technically. While, sure, the games are old, but I'd say the price is well worth it. And considering how I've been hearing that they took lots of care and effort working on porting (not emulating) the games, which makes a lot of sense considering it probably wouldn't be easily possible to do online matches, trade, leaderboards, etc. without first reworking a bunch of the games' systems. And to be able to interact with one another in some ways.
And there are the e-reader card bonuses they've included from the recent news update several days ago (at the time of this comment).
Although, I guess what I'm also bummed out about is Battle Network 5 Double Team. Would have been an amazing addition to the collection, but I guess it would be way more work than they needed.

One thing of note is the most recent information put out by Capcom that came out after this video was uploaded.
The legacy collection will also support the originally Japanese exclusive e-reader cards for battle network 4 through 6. This matters a ton because it opens up a ton of new doors for customization that were never available to anyone outside of Japan. And even if you were a kid in Japan at the time the odds of you having all of the cards at your disposal was pretty low. This is going to severely change the landscape of battle in these games now that everyone has access to them.

While I think 6 served as a nice conclusive ending to the series, it would not be too farfetched to see a new installment or spin off release in the future.

Probably Battle Network X, as BN5 and BN6 already set the stage for BNX (i.e; Darkloids are basically Mavericks, Copybots could enable Mavericks to invade the human world, and of course, Colonel.EXE's existence).
