Also, bonus points for adding all the Boktai content and chips. I think we will be only missing the Sol Cross, maybe. No confirmation about that.
Used copies of the original cartridges are probably very expensive but you can't pull in the sealed copies for comparison, they're not the same. It certainly misleads the audience especially at 7:15 where you refer to used copies but show a sealed copy. The other two you show are CIB which are expected to be priced competitively as well. On average cartridge only copies are listed on eBay at around $50-$60 per piece. Your point that the Legacy Collection is cheaper in value is still valid, but it seems you grabbed the screenshots rather in favor of the argument. Just saying.
I am SO excited for this. I practically jumped for joy when this was first announced. The Battle Network games, starting with Battle Network 3 - White, were such a great part of my childhood. I cannot wait to get this collection!! :)
For me it'll be totally worth it. Incredible fond memories of 1-3 growing up however I never got to play 4-6. So it'll be a half nostalgia revisit and half new experience for me.
I am definitely getting this and playing them again! This series was my childhood, me and a neighborhood friend would walk the 2 miles to gamestop, buy each version and play it on the streets till the sun went down. He lost his life to gang violence and never got to play Star Force. Wish he was around for this collection, he would have loved it!
honestly, the main thing i'd be concerned about is the retention of Boktai content, like sure you technically see Otenko on a poster in one of BN4's versions, but it's kind of another thing to include a self-insert of Hideo Kojima; like Konami is probably mad for royalties and would definitely shove Boktai under the bus, but it'd be kind of a miracle for them to be A-OK with the Kojima cameo. Also, if they include E-Reader Mod Cards in some way like the Zero Collection (DS) already has done, it'd be neat if they actually made the jump for the english versions of 5 and 6. the E-Reader functionality for 4 is coded in western localisations entirely fine but disabled. there's people who did reverse-engineer the Japanese cards and created english-functional variants. (assuming you enabled the menu previously). It might also help that all E-Reader content is actually on-cart, and isn't simply just information that's generated by the cards themselves. (rather than being like the Super Mario Advance 4 series cards. people HAS made custom level cards for that game). Zero 3 and 4's E-Reader content were just internal game flags, which got localized.
I think Kojima would be A-Okay in the games. It's HIS likeness. The Boktai stuff is different though. I mean, Konami had their stuff in Smash, so maybe it is possible.
@@hammylove821 i guess the Boktai IP might be fine, but having Kojima standing there just sounds like they're giving affiliation with the company. like poeple would probably know Kojima produced Boktai but it's a lot less of an issue compared to Metal Gear Solid. Even dominos pizza in japan had to delete their Hatsune Miku ads showing the CEO because they stood down. probably just boils down to if Konami wouldn't ask for much royalties just to show Django+Boktai elements at all or what, or if they'd just pull a full Namco and edit over him like they did with Ms Pac-Man.
imo, I think the $60 price tag for both collections at once is still a decent price and not really much of a con, per se. Because it's $60 for 10 whole games, technically. While, sure, the games are old, but I'd say the price is well worth it. And considering how I've been hearing that they took lots of care and effort working on porting (not emulating) the games, which makes a lot of sense considering it probably wouldn't be easily possible to do online matches, trade, leaderboards, etc. without first reworking a bunch of the games' systems. And to be able to interact with one another in some ways. And there are the e-reader card bonuses they've included from the recent news update several days ago (at the time of this comment). Although, I guess what I'm also bummed out about is Battle Network 5 Double Team. Would have been an amazing addition to the collection, but I guess it would be way more work than they needed.
I remember when I was in high school the students I went to school with they told me I was too retarded to play the first 2 battle network games and it took a long time to bring my confidence up but this what I'm about to say is making me cry. My mom took in 2 little kids who are now 17 and almost 16. Well my sister when she was 6 years old she kept telling me she thought I was special but she got upset when I was afraid to let her watch me play the battle network games but I had no idea that kids would love me this much. My sister's friends have boosted my self esteem so it is going to be amazing
One thing of note is the most recent information put out by Capcom that came out after this video was uploaded. The legacy collection will also support the originally Japanese exclusive e-reader cards for battle network 4 through 6. This matters a ton because it opens up a ton of new doors for customization that were never available to anyone outside of Japan. And even if you were a kid in Japan at the time the odds of you having all of the cards at your disposal was pretty low. This is going to severely change the landscape of battle in these games now that everyone has access to them.
@@WesDoesGames check out this video for A brief rundown on the mod cards for battle network 6 ruclips.net/video/BFAoiv9H1y0/видео.html -New charge shots. -Changing normal megaman’s Colour and element. -New Abilities like Healing after every chip attack. They even had a special bracket in official tournaments in Japan just for the use of these. I don’t think people know just how big of a deal this is going to be for battle. They’re really going above and beyond to make this collection special. They could’ve just Ported all the games to the cartridge and called the day they’re really putting in the work here Also here’s the confirmation as well as some new info to catch up to speed ruclips.net/video/9n8H5SAhMmU/видео.html&feature=share
A bit Biased from my part, but another reason to BUY the collection is, Even if the price tag may be not worth it to some, especially since Parsec exist and N1GP fan tournament of Battle Network 6 with Rollback Netcode romhacks do as well, Supporting the Legacy Collection is a way to show Capcom that people want more Battle Network, which may allow a new game to come out in the future if it does really well, like how MegaMan 11 Was eventually released and is one of the best selling MegaMan games. While I think 6 served as a nice conclusive ending to the series, it would not be too farfetched to see a new installment or spin off release in the future.
@@WesDoesGames I knowwww i played them so much when I was little and I was only able to get black ace for cheap recently and I kinda want to play the other ones
I think you forgot to mention that Capcom games tend to go on sales almost always. Their price tag games are known for be reduced as time goes on. Honestly, I wouldnt be surprised if the games later on cost 30$ or 40$. As a company Capcom isnt that bad.
im buying this as well. The amount of grinding needed to get optimal folders and 100% all games is ganna take a while. If pvp wasn't in here I would've just waited. Also for the digital versions, pretty sure I saw 60$ for an entire collection, so you don't have to buy it separate.
I don't think it it will take as long as you think. Trading is going to be phenomenal and while I do think Hackers will exist to get 99 copies of each chip, those that want an authentic experience will make it feel like an MMO of sorts.
if it wasnt worth it at the time of this video, its definitely worth it with the recent announcement. all the e-reader cards for 4-6 are available right as soon as you boot up the collection. most of the boktai crossover content is kept intact, with only sol cross and crossover battles missing. but the chips from cross battles are still available. also also. buster max mode: jacks up your buster stats to insane levels to steamroll through the story. it's truely a glorious time to be a battle network fan.
@@stellarisk2822 crossover battles: needs a physical connection that cant be emulated. the chip traders will spawn normally through story progression. sol cross is ds exclusive.
I think by "only available separately in digital form" it just meant they're still two different games even when bundled, the physical version probably has a combined game with a menu selecting which one you enter kinda like zero/zx
Thanks for pointing that out. So on Steam currently you can pre-order the bundle for $60, but when it comes out you'll have the option to buy either volume individually for $40. Sorry for the confusion, I was working off information that was written before Steam announced their bundle price 😅
With the recent reveals that the Django content is in the games with previous E-reader only content and a mode to make the story more accessible to new players, I'd say that it's worth it
Fun fact: When Andrew Francis (voice of Megaman in the anime) was asked to reprise his role as MegaMan for the Legacy Collection, he calls it "one of those dream calls you'd get."
Worth pointing out you can still buy those games on Wii u eshop till closure for 6.99 each and those version have some of the extra content. Also your picture of the link cable is wrong...that was the GameCube to GBA connector. MMBN 3 White for life.
Just pre-ordered for me and my friend on steam he's a new player I'm not a harcore player I just remember playing maybe 3 of them when I was a kid and I loved them I never got to experience pvp so I'm looking forward to it I've been hyping my friend up for this release can't wait
You forgot a factor there is a pre-order version of the physical copy digitally that comes with both for the same price as the physical copy so it saves you time and money too only drawback is that if you go this route on switch is that you have to pay for it a week before the games release.
The only other GBA seriesto hold my attention as much as Pokemon did, was the Megaman Battle Network series. Definite plan on buying it once my backlog has slim down a bit. Thing I might try to go for platinum for most of the games.
I played all version and the games were my favorite. I even watched almost all anime episode from them. I was sad to hear at the time, that there were no english sub and dub for megaman stream..
I own the 3 and 5 games games on original hardware so yeah, I wish pricing for all of them was 40-50 for all. If you've never played 3 or 2 though then it's worth it just for those 2 games alone. As far as I'm concerned 3 is one of the best games of all time for me with the secret area postgame playing a big part in that. Hopefully new people give these games a try too.
I know I saw a video a few days ago that said about having 400 some battle chips that were part of the e reader that will be available to use. Plus the bass cross soul so to me definitely worth it
I've been HOPING and praying we would've gotten a port and I'm glad with what we've got. begging for a BN7 or a remaster for the switch (2d or 3d i would. mind either) so im gonna support what i can
I pre-ordered it as soon as I could just because I loved the Battle Network series back the day. I just hope a Star Force Legacy Collection is on the way. I already have all the other Legacy Collection games, so why not complete the set?
The online play is specific to each game right? So if someone spent most of their time playing battle network 3, they wouldn’t get to battle someone who spent all their time in battle network 4?
Mod cards are added.....(Cards that were scanned using the GBA scanner and were exclusive for japan) . and the neat part is that the rare cards are included
I wish there was a toggle for random encounters, that was the only gripe I had with the original games, I guess Buster MAX option can mitigate that whenever
Here's what I want the Starforce Legacy Collection to have: - A fixed port of Starforce (Ala Starforce DX) - Starforce 2, but you have the ability to create TWO Auto-Brothers for the non-selected tribes. - Starforce 3 - BN: Operate Shooting Star and BN5 Double Team DS
With the ending of 6, I wonder how they even would continue it? Have a complete reboot? Follow Lan's kid? Or maybe a new protagonist altogether, possibly from another of the in-universe c countries we hear about in the games? I mean I guess ultimately they tried continuing with Starforce, but that weird alternate future take was not the best call imo. Games were ok I guess, but just always left me missing the Net from BN games.
It's worth it, I wanted to play it but I couldn't find it anywhere in the stores in my area, but now I am finally be able to fulfil one of my dreams to play Mega Man NT warrior game
So for the 3-6 series its a minor but important part of gameplay and thats the cross soul feature which is the form change megaman has and i know in 5-6 but i don’t remember 3-4 since i didnt play far-ish
Battle Network 7 is unlikely, since the end of BN6 wrapped up Lan's arc. What's more likely is a sequel series featuring Lan's son Patch. Probably Battle Network X, as BN5 and BN6 already set the stage for BNX (i.e; Darkloids are basically Mavericks, Copybots could enable Mavericks to invade the human world, and of course, Colonel.EXE's existence).
Actually that's not how digital work. U can get the full collection for 60 on digital (that's both volumes)(also how I bought it), or buy each volume separately for 40 a piece. It's not really stupid considering some people might just want a single game of the 10. I'm got em all, but I know some ppl favor the first 3 over the last 3 and vice versa.
It's worth it solely because of the fact that these games have all of the Japan exclusive features (besides the Crossover Battles). There are other reasons why they're worth it, but having the full version of BN6 and all of the mod cards is THE main selling point for me.
I for one am definitely hyped to get it because the only one I played was Battle Network 5 and I pretty much 100% just about everything in that game as the years went by so all the other 5 games I know nothing about and I'll just play the other version of the 5th game. (Which I had Team Protoman.)
I know it probably won't be there, but I am hoping the Boktai crossover stories will be kept in the Legacy Collection. Edit: NVM, apparently there will be at least a bit of crossover!
Definitely worth it, all the games for just $60... Thats already worth it for me. I cant remember which Battle Network game I grew up with, might've been 2? I just know it was a GBA one, but I looooved it. I love battle networks take on Megaman games over the actual mega man games, im suuuuuper hyped for April to come.
5 and 6 are masterpieces. from the story, to the gameplay, to the character designs (core characters) to the soundtrack, just amazing. but especially 5. battle network 5 is in my opinion on par with Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy Crisis Core as my favorite games of all time. all equally so.
I kinda want one where you get to be an OC and have different navis you can play as or parts you can mix n match. Have the game set in highschool and have the OC be a classmate of Lan
I am disappointed they didn't include Mega Man Network Transmission, especially after they included all of the loading screens from the game as Collectible Art in the Collection. Other than that, I am stoked. $60 for 6 games is not bad in the slightest and I don't have a PC for emulation, so these Collections are heaven sent.

I mean if they will give a totally new Megamen Battle network game after this, with modern graphic and more feature, i will buy it too for sure
Did they do that for any of the other series? No. It's just cash-grabbing.
@@hammylove821 they did for classic and X
By giving us Megaman 11 and Megaman X Dive.
@@androgamerzx389 A shitty gacha game that was asian exclusive for the longest time (is it even in the states yet?) does not count. Mega Man 11 was years ago. One game. That was moreso out of spite for Mighty No. 9 and Inafune.
I literally can't wait for the actual online battles...I will become addicted!!! This is what MMBN was made for!
I can see my thumbs actually getting tired lol.
For me every collection of Mega Man series is worth it. I feel a lot of sentiment to this and without hesitation I've jest bought it like 3 days ago and don't regret it, waiting patiently for 14th of April.
Yes, I never played it, but I love watching Let's plays of it
I never got to play 1 through 4 so this is super exited for this im just hoping that they do starforce as well maybe even the canceled 4th game
A star force collection would be awesome
@@WesDoesGames 100 percent and if it does good we may finally get the canceled 4th star froce game which looked awesome
not only am I hoping for that same thing with starforce, I hope both series and their respective animes get revived as well

2:01 that is very debatable
Lol
Preordered today, just saw the latest update for the new features and are beyond amazing. Can't wait to play it! Still remember how I beat the frist game under my bedsheets at 3am with a flashlight in my mouth just to see the screen. I LOVE these games and all of them (even god forbid MMBN4) have a place in my heart. Please BUY these games if you are a fan and let Capcom knows that we still care. Also, bonus points for adding all the Boktai content and chips. I think we will be only missing the Sol Cross, maybe. No confirmation about that.
Oh man, the things we had to go through before the days of lit screens, haha. I'm glad you got those memories, that's really special
My question is can you wear the bass costume in regular fights
Theres new info now! Boktai crossover features are confirmed, the mod cards are all in, and there's a special feature called bustermax
Great info!
Fair point!
I can't decide if i want to get the switch version for handled gaming or ps4 for better online experience...
That is a tough call
Maybe we'll get starforce collection with operation shooting star
That'd be great I've been wanting to replay those
Excellent video production here, I love the video!
Thank you very much!
I really need a star force collection one day.
Same for me. I never played 6 nor any of the alternate versions (4 blue, 5 colonel) so I think this collection will keep me busy for a while
I am definitely getting this and playing them again! This series was my childhood, me and a neighborhood friend would walk the 2 miles to gamestop, buy each version and play it on the streets till the sun went down. He lost his life to gang violence and never got to play Star Force. Wish he was around for this collection, he would have loved it!
I was going to get the collection regardless, but the online play is what I'm excited for the most.
honestly, the main thing i'd be concerned about is the retention of Boktai content, like sure you technically see Otenko on a poster in one of BN4's versions, but it's kind of another thing to include a self-insert of Hideo Kojima; like Konami is probably mad for royalties and would definitely shove Boktai under the bus, but it'd be kind of a miracle for them to be A-OK with the Kojima cameo.
I'm curious to find out as well
I think Kojima would be A-Okay in the games.
Lmao
One thing of note is the most recent information put out by Capcom that came out after this video was uploaded.
The legacy collection will also support the originally Japanese exclusive e-reader cards for battle network 4 through 6. This matters a ton because it opens up a ton of new doors for customization that were never available to anyone outside of Japan. And even if you were a kid in Japan at the time the odds of you having all of the cards at your disposal was pretty low. This is going to severely change the landscape of battle in these games now that everyone has access to them.
Great info friend. I'm really excited to hear more about these cards 😍
@@WesDoesGames check out this video for A brief rundown on the mod cards for battle network 6
ruclips.net/video/BFAoiv9H1y0/видео.html
-New charge shots.
They could’ve just Ported all the games to the cartridge and called the day they’re really putting in the work here
Also here’s the confirmation as well as some new info to catch up to speed
ruclips.net/video/9n8H5SAhMmU/видео.html&feature=share
And imagine how awesome it would look with Unreal Engine 2d sprites like in Triangle Strategy and Octopath Travelers!
They need to remake the DS megaman games I loved those games they were so much fun
Starforce games are hecka expensive on ebay right now. Maybe someday I'll replay them....
True
dang... i miss it. I played it so much when i was in high school
The price is slightly steep but pvp easily makes up for it
I agree
Unless you don't have the ability to spend 60 dollars at all, I couldn't call it steep by any definition.
@@RippahRooJizah true
@@RippahRooJizah I meant steep as in since without the pvp u can just play the GBA emulator of each game
@@cazimim3375 Emulation is emulation. I have only played the BN series through emulation and I don't think 60 is at all steep for these games.
im buying this as well. The amount of grinding needed to get optimal folders and 100% all games is ganna take a while. If pvp wasn't in here I would've just waited.
Also for the digital versions, pretty sure I saw 60$ for an entire collection, so you don't have to buy it separate.
I'm definitely excited about the pvp
Yes, 100%
why are they not including the crossover battles and sol cross?
@@stellarisk2822 crossover battles: needs a physical connection that cant be emulated. the chip traders will spawn normally through story progression.
sol cross is ds exclusive.
Definitely worth it - Let's Go, Battle Network 7!! Great video
Jack-In! MEGAMAN! POWER-UP!!
I think by "only available separately in digital form" it just meant they're still two different games even when bundled, the physical version probably has a combined game with a menu selecting which one you enter kinda like zero/zx
I'm a bit confused because on the eshop its selling both volumes for preorders together for 60$
Thanks for pointing that out. So on Steam currently you can pre-order the bundle for $60, but when it comes out you'll have the option to buy either volume individually for $40. Sorry for the confusion, I was working off information that was written before Steam announced their bundle price 😅
do you think they added the beast link function in battle network 6? so you can be perma beast out mm?
side note: these games has a competitive scene still. PRetty cool they get this now
With the recent reveals that the Django content is in the games with previous E-reader only content and a mode to make the story more accessible to new players, I'd say that it's worth it
I'm discovering this through my comment section - so cool!
Why is this even a question? It is totally worth it if you've never played it and especially if you were a fan of it when growing up.
I like your presentation transitions. Your video is very informative. Thank you
Thanks friend
Fun fact: When Andrew Francis (voice of Megaman in the anime) was asked to reprise his role as MegaMan for the Legacy Collection, he calls it "one of those dream calls you'd get."
Definitely cool they brought him back
This collection can't come out soon enough! I can't wait for my nostalgia trip with the whole series!
I'm really excited for this week!!
Worth pointing out you can still buy those games on Wii u eshop till closure for 6.99 each and those version have some of the extra content.
Also your picture of the link cable is wrong...that was the GameCube to GBA connector.
MMBN 3 White for life.
Lol yes a few others have pointed that out, but thanks for the feedback.
I got white originally but I'm gonna try blue for the first time soon!
I'm rewatching the anime currently and wondering if it has an "ending" before the non English seasons kick in, or if it just abruptly stops
Plus the bass cross soul so to me definitely worth it
I've been HOPING and praying we would've gotten a port and I'm glad with what we've got. begging for a BN7 or a remaster for the switch (2d or 3d i would. mind either) so im gonna support what i can
For my cpu or my switch?
I pre-ordered it as soon as I could just because I loved the Battle Network series back the day. I just hope a Star Force Legacy Collection is on the way. I already have all the other Legacy Collection games, so why not complete the set?
Can you play competitive wifi intergenerationally? Like I am using BN1 and opponent is using BN2?
Unfortunately no, there's too many differences between games that wouldn't work (like styles in 2 that don't exist in 1)
@@WesDoesGames sounds like a brilliant diamond shining pearl situation :(
👌🏽Man I LOVED this game. Unfortunately I deployed and when I got back I was completely lost on what I had to do and so I never finished it
The online play is specific to each game right? So if someone spent most of their time playing battle network 3, they wouldn’t get to battle someone who spent all their time in battle network 4?
I believe so, since the gameplay mechanics are different in each game (BN2 has Souls, but 1 doesn't, BN5 has team-ups, etc)
Mod cards are added.....(Cards that were scanned using the GBA scanner and were exclusive for japan) . and the neat part is that the rare cards are included
Awesome!
I wish there was a toggle for random encounters, that was the only gripe I had with the original games, I guess Buster MAX option can mitigate that whenever
Do you know if it’s steam deck supported?
I'm not sure, sorry
Yeah of course steam deck will run everything
I'm just happy that I will be able to get a physical copy.
I have mine pre-ordered for PS4 and switch. I am trying to schedule for surgery so I want to really have fun with this game.
Best of luck with your surgery, friend
Here's what I want the Starforce Legacy Collection to have:
- A fixed port of Starforce (Ala Starforce DX)
- Starforce 2, but you have the ability to create TWO Auto-Brothers for the non-selected tribes.
- Starforce 3
- BN: Operate Shooting Star and BN5 Double Team DS
Would you be able to play this game in ps5? And does the physical copy of ps4 has all the games?
I know little about ps5, but I know the ps4 version is a complete set just like the switch version
Also steam has a current $60 preorder bundle so if you dont want to spend 80 on digital release theres an option
It's been so long since I've played battle network I almost forgot the souls mechanic. It was a pretty cool feature
Love the background music 👾🎶
Battle Network has a great soundtrack :)
It is on sale right now in the nintendo store for the switch 30 euro's for both (valid till 22-10-2024)
It's a VERY close race between 6 and 3 for me being my favorite.
Then 5, 4, 2, and 1.
I think for me it's 3, 2, 5, 1, 6, then 4
Actually that's not how digital work.
Wes, having not watched but 3 seconds of your ad, I can assure you that I am getting BNLC and you cannot stop me
(Attempts to stop you)
I was already planning/preordered the game but this video showed me it was a good decision
Glad it was informative!
Same
Definitely worth it, all the games for just $60... Thats already worth it for me. I cant remember which Battle Network game I grew up with, might've been 2? I just know it was a GBA one, but I looooved it.
I love battle networks take on Megaman games over the actual mega man games, im suuuuuper hyped for April to come.
it will be on steam? also holy crap baskets batman iv still got all of my collection sitting in a plastic carry case along with my gba and ds.
So excited! 🤩
I played BN3 White as a kid, and I didn't care for it much. Can't wait to finally play from the beginning. I may still start with BN2 or 3.
Do we know it this will have cross platform multiplayer ?
I don't believe so
How I would love a Battle Network 7. With all former enemies out of the picture, we actually have room for new evil organizations.
I agree!
im so excited for it i played it when i was younger and was just looking for a gba copy
of battle network 4
