I think lead gets you so pumped and tired it doesn't allow you to recover before boulder starts. Although ideally we'd see both rounds on a different day so we don't have as many issues with skin for athletes
For the women there's a few that could take it, but I think it's gonna be pretty tough to beat the queen. For the men I think it's really interesting. I think Lee, Jakob, Alberto, Toby, Adam, Tomoa and Sorato all have a good chance of winning it, and perhaps if one of the others has a few really good rounds we could be surprised. But genuinely all of the above are at such a level they could take it imo
For the men Sorato Anraku is definitely my favorite to win it all, he is just on another level. After him I would say Toby Roberts, Dohyun Lee, and Jakob Schubert are next most likely. Legends like Adam Ondra, Alex Megos, and Tomoa Narasaki could also all take it if the boulders/lead end up playing more into their style. Tbh all the athletes who I didn't mention are also insanely skilled and could easily win, which definitely makes things exciting. For the women Janja is of course the favorite, but the gap between her and #2 has narrowed in the last 4 years to the point where it's possible for other athletes to steal the win. I will definitely be looking out for Brooke Raboutou, Natalie Grossman, Miho Nonaka, and Erin McNeice (I think I'm missing another name here but I'm not sure who).
Sorry but no one is close to beating Janja, only Ai has a chance to beat her in lead. I can count the number of boulders she hasn't top in one hand this year
It’s fun to try to guess who is going to win for men, but they are all so good- it probably depends more on how the Olympics boulders and routes are set. Personally, I hope Ondra wins so he can stop competing (for gods sake, enough), and do a lot more outdoor climbing.
@@dailyclimbing its cheaper or less expensive, but never "ridiculously cheap" as you put it. Plus, €479 for a jacker cant be real. What kind of target audience do you guys have? Im shocked... for 479 i can buy full gear to climb a 30/40m sport climb (rope, quickdraws, etc) by the lattest scarpa or la sportiva shoes, drive to the route, pay for gas, climb it, go to diner with my friends and get drunk and i still have some left, or i could buy your jacket lol 479 for a jacket its not ok
@@joaosoares7446 that’s how much a technical alpine jackets costs, the amount of work that goes into them, means the standard RRP is that… a jacket like that will last u 10 years at least, depending on what your activities are… sounds like from the activities you do, u probably wouldn’t need it, but when u take these jackets into the environment they are supposed to be in and u see it perform at its limit, that’s where u see the difference between a 400-500€ jacket and a 200€ jacket… so we reckon it’s a bargain 🙌
@@dailyclimbing quick google search... you are right. What the actual fuck... there are some over €800. Thank god i just do rock climbing... Sorry for the overeaction but at least my ignorance is cured now... still, wtf xD

Shoutout to futaba ito, performed well but didn’t get a seat
People forget she once beat Janja at the Adidas rockstars competition. Very few female climbers who can say that
Absolutely 🙌 quotas 😕
Without sounding negative (but still sounding negative) , are most climbers actually interested in speed climbing - I mean, at all? ??
No, it’s not for the climbers though. It’s very simple and easy for non climbers to understand.

Teresa would agree with the first point for sure 🙌 as for the second, we agree it’s pretty open, and therefore v exciting!

whats with Janja Garnbret? Have I missed something? Is she injured/retired?
She qualified for the Olympics in Bern World Championships in 2023. She's competing at the Innsbruck world cup right now, she's fine.
And she is the name that will not be uttered by our hosties, or does everyone sort of huck a turbo over your head when you blink?
Love the massive slab is sexy sticker on Teresa's Laptop! Gotta support our Anna ❤

3:13 what shoes is she wearing?
It looks like it’s the women’s solution comp.

Any reason why janja isn’t there ?
She got the first Olympic ticket in 2023 at the world Championships in Bern
maybe in 2028 we will have more athletes per country?
Maybe we’ll have more medals as well 🤞
are you mental? calling a 270 USD jacket cheap? lol
....when you compare it to the normal price of €476.00 its pretty cheap
