idk i'd consider poor being unable to make your monthly payments consistently, while being broke is more living paycheck to paycheck. I definitely think there's a difference
Happiness is 100% mindset regardless of situation. Some of the happiest people I've ever met were broke as a joke. However, money does allow someone to put themselves in an environment where it is easier to keep that mindset.
If he/she lives in America - then they certainly do. They have the same opportunity to acquire wealth if they sincerely wanted to. There has been plenty of people who started off homeless and eventually became millionaires in America. I can’t speak for other countries though.
@@tracknation7285 This is such a lie, you don't become a millionaire just by trying. It's impossible for everyone to be rich because the system needs poor people as well. Like what are you on

And before you say anything about drug addiction, your input is invalid if you've never experienced the need for a way to immediately cope with life.
I really wish Graham spoke more. He seemed to be the most aware of the economic issues facing the country. On the other hand, I wish Timothy spoke less lol; he just seemed way out of touch 😒
arnesha nelson i think it’s more their personality type, a lot of millionaires have a dominating personality so I think that’s why the conversation was so argumentative. I think they’re obviously all very smart since they’ve all been able to start out from nest nothing and become a millionaire.

Having access to electricity is a privilege. Having access to a technological device is a privilege. Having the time to learn something instead of worrying about/struggling to survive, eat/have the energy to get food, having food to get, is all a privilege. Having the emotional/mental capacity to externalize your problems, to meditate through a difficult situation, is a PRIVILEGE. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Linda being all "BuT wErE yOu HaPpY??" I mean, people in third world countries are plenty happy... but they're still poor. Poor is an economic status, not a freaking emotion... -_-
Fuchsteufelswild Agreed. Being broke does not meant you can’t have other good things and being rich doesn’t mean everything is great. However, the question clearly meant poor as in “not having money”. If you lived in a penthouse while getting domestically abused, that is awful and I am so sorry that happened to you...but you weren’t poor. It’s a bad experience but that also wasn’t the question. It’s like being “my parents got divorced when I was young”, again, it sucks, but it’s not about being poor.
they highfivd each other because they were in the same position if someone poor did the same thing it would not be a problem but the fact that they are wealthy is making it a problem
The fact that Timothy the millionaire has the nerve to say he’s jealous of them.. of the mindset… no poor person would every wish that life on another. It’s not just another experience you have in life. It quite literally becomes life or death at certain points. There’s a special place in the after life for Timothy. And it’s filled with fire
he didn't really say that, he said he's jealous that he didn't procure the values that the others did from the experience. indicating that he wish he had a stronger mental drive to become even more, not necessarily jealous of being poor....
Graham and Austin are actual people that came from nothing unlike the rest literally a girl said she was poor Bcz she was in a penthouse being abused by her bf she could’ve always broke up wit him
Exactly, he is very self aware and humble enough to understand that there are people out there with adversaries in life that can prevent them from becoming a self made millionaire. Not everyone can become "rich", but those who can, should try to, and he informs and helps those people.
Graham is rich, definitely a smart hustler, and most importantly, humble. I didn’t care for his content so much before, but I realize he really truly wants to share his knowledge on how to reach financial well-being:) Bravo, Graham.
I’m just confused as to why Linda and Timothy HIGH-FIVED when they were both on the disagree side of the “I know what it feels like to be poor prompt.”

Like happiness doesn't have anything to do with being poor. Poor is not a mindset. It's a financial reality. Poor people can be happy, but still be poor. They face different struggles. Rich people can be sad and depressed, but their struggles are different in life. Poor is something in and of itself that you have to experience to know. Saying she's never been poor because she was happy is bull. she's probably never been poor period. saying they were broke, but really what does she mean by that? come on.
Then don't be poor? Simple as that. Unless you have a disability or you're carrying someone else’s weight, then it's not your fault. Everybody can get rich if they understand it's not always about school and getting a career. If you're a 16 year old and your parents are extremely broke, it is achievable to get rich by working your ass off and getting into real estate / business / etc. But most people don't put the effort in, you can take 90 hour weeks being drained, but people dont.
I needed to see more Graham. He’s one of the more insightful and logical people in this group. The producers needed to do a better job of getting everyone’s input.

@ANGELA MARTÍNEZ No. @A Jo is saying that he basically will forever be judged by those who think less of him because he didn't experience being poor. He will always be scoffed at whenever he complains about life. These type of videos don't really afford an opportunity to give context to what people are saying. Obviously he's not suggesting they have it better than him. He's having a conversation with other individuals in his circumstance. If he said it to a poor person's face, then yeah. The anger would be a lot more valid.
@@Spacewalrus2010 I think if ppl knew more about him and how ppl like him got there it, the "coming from the bottom" statement would be secondary and ppl will change their views on him but if they see the secondary as the main problem then it'll just be problems
Even though there are a lot of people living at or below the poverty line, millionaires are slowly becoming the “everyday average people” as more people reach that level. In comparison to how rich the mega-wealthy are. There are lots of people out there that would make Bill Gates and the lot look average by comparison. The amount of wealth that’s out there is insane.
@@enriqueisaacs8181 let me put this in perspective since “trillions (of dollars) a day” is a substantial overexaggeration for all but a few companies. these millionaires made at least a million dollars in their lifetime by definition. for a multibillion dollar company to increase their worth by another billion in a year requires a few millions of dollars per day.
Not true at all. Everyone can be healthy but not everyone is. It’s about discipline. Everyone can become rich if they push themselves. Most people do not have the discipline to work that hard for that long.
@@musicchaos7342 Discipline is not enough, a big part is privilege, for instance Musk said he was broke, but his father possessed a half of an Emerald mine, was he really broke? No! There is a lot of people working more than 12 hours a day just to survive, do you think that working 12 h a day is not being disciplined enough? Seriously???
"I was only given a couple of thousands dollars" But you weren't. There's a huge difference between having thousands of dollars, and having thousands of dollars that you can risk invest. All money I've tied up in stocks is money that I'm willing to accept that I can lose. It's very unlikely I'd lose all of it, and it would suck hard if I lost it; but if I WOULD lose it, I still have enough money to survive and keep my apartment for some time. And that's the difference, it's not about "x amount of money", at one period of someone's life they probably do have e.g. 2000 dollars in one form or another (inheritance, value of a car, partial value of a house, etc), it's about if I have financial flexibility to invest it.
Well in that case invest in stocks that are not risky then then put a down payment on a house if you live where living is cheap but yeah he did get that privilege but that doesn't mean you cant reach his success its just going to be a lot harder which sucks but thats life its unfair. :/ Good luck with your journey tho
Space Nerd problem with that is that you get little amounts of money ( low percentage of what you invested anyways), very, very slowly. But yes, it is smart to have some sort of passive income.
It doesn't matter. Realize the questions was about being self-made. that would make him self-made... The whole term originated from when people had wealth passed down onto them vs people who were, self, made...
@@kyrball naah not really she was mostly bregging about how poor she was and how her life was. Graham for example the other guy he had much more valid points and they cut all of it out of the video just like the other people in the video

People always want the things they don't have. Maybe being poor would give them thrill. Life must get boring at some point if you get everything you want.
Nah. He thinks that if you work hard and use your head then making money is just a matter of time. Which is true for a lot of people. Unfortunately he doesn't quite realise how unfair the world is to many people. That many people do not have the opportunity or the sheer luck to be able to work hard to obtain success. Many poor people do work hard, do use their heads. But unfortunately it's not good enough.
you can't succeed by being a lazy ass person, he is willing to put the work to it, but people are jealous cuz they think it's easy but still are not willing to change
I love when you just allow rich people to say whatever they want without guiding them, it's really enlightening to see the nonsense they say sometimes.
I feel like we all want to connect to that underdog story. I don't think he was trying to make light of it I think what he was trying to convey was he wish he had had more humbling experiences. I mean I could be wrong but that's what I took from it.

2nd gen or 3rd gen rich people.
The people that believe people didn't work hard enough while they did is a stereotype when luck is a huge factor in all of this
Miguel Hernandez a stereotype of rich people is that they're ”tone deaf” and Linda literally said inequality doesn't exist...
Miguel Hernandez They also all tried to promote the idea of the ‘American dream’ which is a rather futile concept

Money doesn't necessarily buy happiness but it sure as hell removes obstacles to happiness.
Obstacles to happiness is a subjective thing
for me money removes all obstacles to happiness
Kyotosomo It buys time. With that time you can go search for happiness easier.
Happiness is 100% mindset regardless of situation. Some of the happiest people I've ever met were broke as a joke. However, money does allow someone to put themselves in an environment where it is easier to keep that mindset.
If you have this mindset, you won’t be happy even if you will get all the money in the world
The way Linda said a homeless person has the same opportunities as a rich person :')
If he/she lives in America - then they certainly do. They have the same opportunity to acquire wealth if they sincerely wanted to. There has been plenty of people who started off homeless and eventually became millionaires in America. I can’t speak for other countries though.

Fuchsteufelswild Agreed. Being broke does not meant you can’t have other good things and being rich doesn’t mean everything is great. If you lived in a penthouse while getting domestically abused, that is awful and I am so sorry that happened to you...but you weren’t poor. It’s a bad experience but that also wasn’t the question. The fact that Timothy the millionaire has the nerve to say he’s jealous of them.. of the mindset… no poor person would every wish that life on another.

But… they ARE more like average people when compared to multibillion dollar companies…

"I was only given a couple of thousands dollars"
But you weren't.
:/ Good luck with your journey tho

ah come on repliers.. why are you guys embodying being poor as if its who you are? your bank account isnt who you are, its just an everchanging number. they high-fived because they can't relate to the mindstate of believing someone can be "poor". when they spoke after high-fiving, they didnt speak about bank account balance at all. maybe listen again
Graham is the guy who could be successful in life with or without money... Huge respect to him
this is more of a competition of who has suffered the most than do they think the same
Because they think they can relate, but are definitely not.
Theyre trying to be humble so bad lmao
literally no one:
not even Erin:
Linda: yeah but my husband
HAHAHAHHHAA
This comment has only been out for 33mins and you 150 likes but still this is underrated
SCREAMING
*He was a dishwasher technician
Not even Erin 🤣🤣🤣
Did he just said “I’m jealous you were poor” wtf 🤦🏾♂️😭
People always want the things they don't have. Maybe being poor would give them thrill. Life must get boring at some point if you get everything you want.
I think he meant it more like "I wish i had the experience you did so i could be more understanding and more appreciative of what I have"
He said jealous of the mindset
probably because people appreciate other people who had nothing and still became millionares more
it’s really interesting that these people think that being poor is solely a mindset when it’s so much more than that
Timothy is the type of dude to be like "omg you're homeless? Just by a house!"
Ema Shearin 💀💀💀
Ema Shearin he’s like the modern day version on Marie Antoinette!
But unfortunately it's not good enough.
hes willing to work hard, not dillydally
you can't succeed by being a lazy ass person, he is willing to put the work to it, but people are jealous cuz they think it's easy but still are not willing to change
Nobody:
Not a single soul:
Linda: "Well my husband.."
Stolen
@@spaceT999 ok BOOMER
"Anyone can make it cause like you know my husband..."
Literally survival bias, just cause he made it doesn't mean ANYONE can make it.

oh and she is sooo good looking which has really helped her, u get that one?
Graham is super self aware and you can tell he’s a deep thinker. He really stands positively out in this crowd. Austin is chill too.
I love when you just allow rich people to say whatever they want without guiding them, it's really enlightening to see the nonsense they say sometimes.
I feel like Graham is the most humble and “woke” out of this group
Melissa too
Desmond Murray i agree melissa and graham def.
Dude struck me as ignorant, but I'm only halfway through the video so far.
Yesssssss
My favorites were Graham and Austin
Them: discusses their childhood poverty and struggles
Timothy: I’M jeAlOus oF YOu GuYS
Not about the struggle, about the experience. You could've atleast listened bruh
I feel like we all want to connect to that underdog story. I don't think he was trying to make light of it I think what he was trying to convey was he wish he had had more humbling experiences. I mean I could be wrong but that's what I took from it.
Luisa McGill I think you’re spot on
Funny to think all their money combined isn’t even near the amount that one 8 year old kid makes reviewing toys
C H truth
Lol
lol
It's less than 1 tenth the amount of money Mike Bloomberg has.
I see that kid's surprise egg things in Wal-mart now, he is rolling in it lmao
