My wife bought a new Caddy SUV sometime around 2013. It is the only car that we have ever owned with a heated steering wheel. I would never have thought how awesome that accessory is. Especially old arthritic hands in cold Kansas mornings.
must say im technology junky and a mechanic and all those people say they want everything digital as in instrument cluster have never thought about long run and cost of those and all those extras such as air suspension. some of you wont be spending your money where you want because of all car issues done the road. This xt6 cadillac made is simple to fix if anything comes up. People always want the new but dont think of how time will beat it down.
Hey, always enjoy your videos and eager to watch your new entries. Thought your remarks on changing into "dad" clothes was pretty funny. Anyone can do a review, but your personality is a great addition to good content!
What a great surprise it was to see a new video James! Great review and that is a really nice SUV. Merry Christmas to you and Happiest of New Years too!
Replacing the XT6 with the VISTIQ is a huge mistake, with EV sales tanking. In fact, Cadillac recently acknowledged that they most likely will NOT be all electric by 2030 as first announced. If they want to stay in business, they have to keep selling ICE vehicles, because no one wants the EVs. I for one will never go electric!
Subscribed! You’re doing what I wished I could have done all my life. Instead I bought and traded losing my shirt in depreciation UNTIL, I started buying below wholesale and selling wholesale. I drove many cars just not always the ones I wanted. I was born a little early before the internet. Good things because I would have never got anything done if I had the resource’s of the WWW like we all do today at age 10. I would of died from not eating and never washing up lol
I was expecting a more aggressive exhaust note since it is the sport edition. A very nice vehicle nonetheless. I wouldn’t complain about anything if there was one in my driveway with a big red bow on it this morning🤣! Merry Christmas James!
James, hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! Good to see you back doing another review 🎄🎅(I honestly thought it was your Dad at first, you did good playing the part 😂)
The lighted door handles are only part of the optional headlight package, which can be ordered on the Sport trim, but the lighted handles are NOT included - weird !!!
Hi James! Cadillacs have one of my favorite designs in the industry and this certainly doesn’t disappoint, although I detest black interiors. I was surprised the as tested price was just short of $70k, but the lack of so many features explained the “cheap” price. Cadillac clearly just threw this together until the Vistiq is released.
Love love love all of your reviews, however I must be honest, me being older, the analog gauge cluster is beautiful. I can't stand a computer screen where the Dial's can be almost jewel like and just show much more class and really show individualism. Think about the physical clock on the dashboard. They ooze luxury.. We are loosing design to a screen that in time will fail where the other will always be a tangible reminder of when designers showed their true talents.
Very good point! In some cases mechanical instrumentation can certainly be more beautiful than an LCD display. It's a shame though that high quality craftmanship is missing from most cars these days... Thank you for watching!!
If only they made an actually sporty XT6. Sharp car but RWD, 375+ hp and a little suspension work would go a long way. I think I will have to explore the ‘24 Lincoln Nautilus or aviator instead.
Merry Christmas, James! Entertaining review. I’m glad Cadillac still uses the crests with color inserts instead of the silver outlines. Seats look great but the door panels look cheap. Keep up the good work!
Great review James. I’ve never considered the XT6 as a contender as for looks, but “Wow! That sport trim is a sharp looking vehicle. Thank you for the review.
I have the exact same looking 2024 XT6 Sport in black, with “Cirrus” off white interior, in my garage. Have the muted Caddy badges front and back (extra) and painted to match mud flaps (extra). Love it!
No, the 360’ four camera built in dash cameras work all the time when driving. Record on SD card. Can be played back in the infotainment system or remove the SD card to watch or copy to a computer hard drive. Will also start recording if vehicle is bumped into on a parking lot or someone tries to open locked doors.
Thank you for the review. I am disappointed in this vehicle for only two reasons: It is missing too many features/tech you expect on Cadillac and the headlight design. There should be two headlights on each side of the grille not one like some economy car or stripped vehicle. I guess the 2026 Vistiq will correct these things I am sure. I think it should have full digital gauges and it seems they cut corners to be cost effective. The issue becomes what makes the XT6 different from Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia? All them are longer and offer the same them. XT6 comes off as " me too" in this case. Thank you James. Have a great and festive holiday season.
You're very welcome!! Good point on the headlights, it would be nice if they looked a bit more special with more lights. Thank you so much for watching and have a great Christmas! 🎄
@@kevinmatthews365 I appreciate your comments. I do thank you for responding. I still do not like the look. I do not want to drive a vehicle with one headlight on each side of the grille where it looks like I bought the stripped low end model or the economy car. It looks cheap and low end. If I drive something like this it needs a quad headlight design( two on each side of the grille). Just my thoughts.
@@OLDS98 , certainly a personal opinion then. That’s why there is a myriad of vehicle options out there. As far as a digital cluster, Cadillac won’t change that as 2025 is the sunset year with the new Vistiq EV replacing it. For those that say it’s a dressed up Traverse, well it shared the same platform. Don’t think the Traverse has active air ride suspension as even the lower lines of the XT6 don’t have this silky smooth ride. And the all new Traverse doesn’t even come with a V6 engine option. So there’s that. I’m glad we are not all the same in our preferences or that would be boring.
@@kevinmatthews365 Indeed. I saw the new Traverse. It is more rugged now. It looks closer to a Tahoe which it is close in size to as well. I am sure the Vistiq will have digital gauges. based on the other new Cadillacs as of late. Oh, I knew XT6 Traverse, Enclave, and Acadia are on the same platform. It was different flavors and unique in their own way. People could say the same thing about Ford and Lincoln and Toyota and Lexus and Nissan and Infiniti. I understand what you are saying.
The main thing That bothers me about my '22 XT5, is going through a car wash and pushing up a 1/2 knotch into neutral. Also a great feature I miss is the brake hold that my Honda CRV had.
Still don't understand why they didn't use the CT6 engines platform for the XT6 the V-6 Turbo and V-8 Turbo ,they were already in place, you want to compete with the Germans and other Luxury Automakers but cost cut and still expect people to pay $ 70 grand for a vehicle that goes up in trim but has only one engine choice V-6 3.6 L , and the 4 banger Turbo is way to small and is a joke.
I agree with what he says about needing more upgrades. For a Cadillac, I expect more without it jacking the price up. The Dodge Durango has fancier options in some aspects. The dash needs updating. I can’t believe Cadillac is forcing dealers to go electric- that is a huge shame. Who goes on road trips and wants to sit waiting for a power up? No bueno. Anyways, the gear shifter needs changing also. Cadillac is so iconic and should be top luxury.
I had a 2020 luxury and now I have a 2024 Sport.. this was supposed to be refreshed this year but they didn't do it .still I had to buy the car because my 2020 and this is still the best car i had, drove the Genesis gv80 and was all over the road, small, X5 also very small in the front with standard vinyl seats, what a joke this car does everything right.. remote start engages automatic heated or vented seats, climate control will also turn on heat or AC whether or not you left it on when you shut the car off as well as the heated wheel. the car will automatically lock itself when you walk away.. the sport rides better than the luxury because it is an active suspension it's much more controlled I passed on the 21 inch rims because they do not ride as good as 20s and the ride is magnificent the car feels like a tank, steering ratio is also tighter. The brembos work magnificently in a panic stop... I wish they would have went with the wrap around dash I have to live another 2 1/2 years in this lease which is fine with me
I have a '22 Sport, if the info screen was larger it would be a more complete car. Other than that, it's a pretty good vehicle and people still stare at it when I drive by.
$70,000 for a Chevy Traverse with a Caddy badge. I'll wait for a certified two year old Sport edition for $50,000. Then it's decent value. GM should redesign the rear to slope it, like the Aviator...
There are a lot of details included with the XT6 that easily separates it from the Traverse/Acadia. The step up to the V6 motor rather from the turbo 4 for one thing. The turbo 4 motor sounds like a strained gerbil wheel when pushed...which is nearly all of the time because it doesn't have enough power for the vehicle's size.
Regarding your amusing costume change - I'm considering an XT6 so I have something to camp in! I'm not a parent (and have no intention of contributing to overpopulation).
Can't wait xt6 update its display to the same display like XT4 and XT5!!! Current display is too small ! If I buy small display with 2024 version, then 2025 came out with a big display......
Magna ride caddy name to fame even ferrari got it super cruise semi autonomous I'll pass cause it gives access to vehicle electronics through turd party
A very unimpressive vehicle and outclassed by many other vehicles in this segment. And that exhaust clip was unimpressive. There is no exhaust note, just engine noise when it’s revved. 😢
Well, thank you Cadillac for making it easier for me. I’ll cross you out. This year will be the toughest for the SUV market. The Lexus GX550, TX and Land Cruiser will shake it up so bad that I can only wish good luck to all.
An awesome SUV. Cry about the interior all you want. The General isn’t going to make changes to an SUV that will have its sunset year in 2025. Being replaced by a 3 row mid size EV SUV for the 2026 model year. Releasing mid 2025.
Old and archaic screen, style, technology. Why would anyone buy one when there r so many more options out there. Cadillac really dropped the bomb. I’d choose the 2024 explorer or Arcadia of this SUV.
They won’t redesign a vehicle that has only one model year left. Cadillac will be first in the GM line up that is all EV. New EV in the way mid next year to replace the XT6. It’s a fine vehicle just the way it is imo.
2024 Cadillac xt6 is trash nothing has changed it should have a 48 inch screen more horsepower, no plastic, instrument panel should look like the Escalade and have super cruise I prefer the Lincoln aviator over the xt6
Why? Looks great to me - devoid of ugly screens, elegant looking. Screens = cheap looking and most frustrating to use. I'll take this any day over glitz.
