It is somewhat unfair to sample "modern judo" with Maruyama uchimata. There is literally one guy on the planet capable of such unreal execution. Looks like a scene in a staged super hero movie. And he does that to top ranking olympic level opponents, that get shooted up in the air like in a japanese manga cartoon. Standard modern judokas, even good ones, are very far from such a devastating effectiveness...
The modern ones are better in every sport
@@scarred10 simply not true. We're in open devolution in almost every domain. Put a modern judoka in a contest of the seventies/eighties, with the old rules, he would be obliterated, unless is one of the very few like Maruyama. There are no modern boxers like Marciano, Tyson or Leonard. Watch the clips.
@@ilmaio tyson and leonard are modern,marciano would be destroyed by many modern heavyweight due only to his size, hes wasreally a cruiserweight.
@@ilmaio Of course old judoka would win if you specify "with the old rules." Modern judoka would obviously win with the current rules, too! It's a totally pointless statement

@@paulfrost8952 probably referring to shidos (penalties). A modern trend is to win not by attacking but by baiting the opponent into taking shidos.
