Yep. My best was Edson Range. I didn't know I was left eyed dominate. I always held long guns right shoulder, shotgun. I just say it wasn't pleaseat experience. I got the toilet seat. I believe it was given to me. I think the Range DI took notice I was writing lefthanded near the end of second week. I found out about my left eye at the police academy after the Corp. I still shot right handed with a scope. I never miss. I shot hand guns right handed very well also. 73/76.

camille carter you absolutely can do it! It’s all time/ labor you are paying for. You just can’t rush the process. Take it slow and follow the guidelines and you are golden for a fraction of the cost!
Good video, car looks great. Not clear on one thing, did you use one bottle per coat, or did one little bottle do all three coats?
Kathy VanDoren one bottle for all three coats. I used 1/3 for each coat. For a car this size one bottle should be plenty. For an suv or truck, you need 2 bottles.

Thomas Marengi I did apply it to grill and all painted surfaces. I didn’t do the glass but you absolutely can! It helps bead water off the windshield.

What ratio did you use for mixing your IPA?
Good job. When my C8 gets delivered I'm going to get the full PPF wrap and then apply the ceramic coating on top. Would you suggest otherwise? At first I thought if I do the full PPF I didn't need the ceramic coating. But they say it will make it shine even more.
Kerry Little full PPF with a ceramic coat is by far the best way to go. It gives you full protection and then the shine as you mentioned. It also keeps your maintenance down on washing.

That is the pads I bought, and they came with the handles which make applying wax and compound so much easier!

Peter Campanella it depends on a couple factors. If you do 3 layers like I did and keep the car fairly clean by washing regularly with a wand and not needing to touch it as often then they say up to 5 years. I’m looking for 3 years at least!
Question after I wash clay bar and do all the steps can I ceramic coat the car and put a protective clear film over that? Expel or any other so the car shines underneath
You dont want to put ceramic coat under the PPF (Paint Protection Film). You always can paint correct with clay bar and polish then you would PPF and ceramic coat over the top of that.

It depends on how many coats you apply as well as how often you have to wash it. Typically they say the range can be 3-6 years depending on factors. I would recommend 2-3 coats to help increase longevity.

No, I had put a few miles on it. But even if brand new from dealer it’s amazing the amount of micro scratches that you will want to clean up before you ceramic coat. It adds time but any time to improve paint will help in the final product.
Question can you put clear film expel over the ceramic coating?
You need to do expel first then you can ceramic coat!

Aceman365 you absolutely can! Many people will ceramic coat their fully vinyl wrapped cars.
Getting mine delivered directly to my house (enclosed carrier). What prep should I do with essentially zero miles? The whole clay bar thing?
So I did have some paint correction even with virtually no miles. I have read guys say they got the car right from trailer and needed a decent amount of work. Sounds crazy but its worth fully correcting to be sure!
Did you use any mechanical buffers in between the coats of ceramic coats? Or just wipe with a microfiber cloth?
w5nasham the directions say just to buff in with a microfiber. You have to let it sit between 1-5 minutes depending on temperature. I think you don’t use a mechanical buffer because it heats up too much.
You should really do a one stage or two stage paint correction before doing a ceramic coating especially if you clayed the car which will cause marring in the paint.
Can you add it to the windows and windshield?
YoMama yes you can! It helps with water beading when driving.
A new car needs to be corrected as well. Especially if you are going through all of the other steps. Dealerships do quite a bit of damage to a new car’s finish while they have it on their property. Just looked at a clients new c8. I’ll be coating it and it certainly needs a light correction.
Totally agree. My situation was different. I showed up as the car pulled in the lot from the truck. Took it home that night. So yes a bit of correction was needed but very very little in my case.

1) Do you need to tell the dealer NOT to wax the car when they prep it;
2) do you need to clay bar the car if the first thing you do when you drive it 5 miles home is ceramic coat the car? So the steps would be wash, polish, IPA, and ceramic coat.
knowwhentofoldem I had my dealer not prep my paint as you said - so no wax. And you are also correct in that you don’t need to clay bar. I had a little over 500 miles, so I did overkill just to be safe. Then follow the steps you said! It will turn out amazing!
Thanks for the info and the prompt response. One last question. Did you polish and put ceramic coat on your painted wheels? That looks like a difficult job with all the nooks and crannies.
knowwhentofoldem I did not. And you are right, it’s a tough job with the tires and wheels on the car. I actually have some new wheels coming in this month. I had them shipped to me before I put them on the tires. I will fully ceramic coating them before I mount them. That is the easiest way!
Why would you not have the dealer wax the car?

Yes, it’s all the same product. I am not sure you can put them on the tires though. Usually only hard surfaces!

If your going to use alcohol to wipe down the car as the last step for the ceramic coating to remove everything off the paint, I don’t what the point is to polish the car. Since you put the polish on and then you alcohol wipe it right back off it seems to be a waste of time for no reason. Can you explain your reasoning of that step? I would think you clay bar and then do the alcohol and your now ready for the ceramic coating.

Talk to body repair men or paint shops. They say there is only one way to take ceramic off. You must sand it off. So repairs suck.
You would still need to sand off the clear anyway for spot repairs or blending.

As a professional detailer who has been in the industry for a very long time and has personally be using ceramic coatings over 7 years there is definitely some miss information in here that need to be address... at 18:58 you mention it’s going to prevent any type of swirl marks. THAT IS FALSE! it will help minimize swirls and scratches as it has hydrophobic properties and when doing the pre rinse most of the dirt will be removed if the vehicles is maintained regularly. ALSO.... You don’t want to use a car wash at all as they are going to instill swirls and scratches. Proper hand washing or a touch less car wash is the best method to minimize swirls and scratches. There is so much that goes into this but I will leave it at that. I appreciate you trying to put content out there but please leave this type of content to the true experts who have experience.
Cruising California Auto Detailing I actually mention that touching a car should be minimized. By applying the ceramic coating if you wash regularly, you should be able to do mostly wand (touchless) washes, so you can prevent swirl marks. I understand you are a professional so I appreciate the insight, but I still feel I provided good information to the viewers.

Take an outstanding car, an outstanding ceramic coating and “prep it” with cheap ass auto parts store Meguiars garbage.
You didn’t accomplish anything by using that shit by hand, it’s not wax, it’s to remove defects. You’re not removing anything by hand.
