Hello Reviewer, after reading the behind-the-scenes disasters that befell this movie, I understand why Disney doesn’t take more risks. In fact this is probably the movie that put them into permanent risk-aversion. It’s a mess, but I thought it turned out pretty decent. I probably saw it 5 times in the theater, mostly because of this great music score by James Horner…which replaced the first score by Georges Delerue…just one of many changes they made AFTER they thought the movie was already completed. Check out articles in Cinefantastique and Cinefex on what all was done to this film in post-production.
Crazy how he took that theme from John Williams I’m amazed it was allowed to go through the music is beautiful but the only memorable part is what he stole from John Williams
@@PrehistoricMagazine well, now Disney owns both this and the imperial march, so I guess it all evens itself out. Sometimes you can tell what scores were used as temp scores in these instances
Again this was another great brilliant film that didn't get what it deserved. Many people didn't like this because it wasn't anything like the usual Walt Disney films. All it gets is a very low amount of likes thumbs up. To me and many others it should have got what it was denied. This was and still is a brilliant great film from a fantastic writer and a great Walt Disney. Writer Ray Bradley. So then what's not to like about this. A great writer and the brilliant famous one and only Walt Disney. I can guarantee that in many parts of this world is thousands of people who like this film. And I'm talking many thousands that's not even on here with thumbs up along with the small amount it's got. Now do people really like Ray Bradley and Walt Disney. They wouldn't know a great film if it hit them right in the face. They wouldn't know a good Book to read. It's the name of the film. Something wicked this way comes.
Something Wicked This Way Comes (2024 Remake) Directed By Jaume Collet-Serra Written By Kate Dippold and Michael Green Produced By Dan Lei and Jim Whitaker Music By James Newton Howard Runtime 125 Minutes Genre: Supernatural Horror Thriller Dark Fantasy Starring Gerald Butler as Mr Dark Jacob Tremblay Isabella Sermon Josh Gad Rosario Dawson Harrison Ford With Meryl Streep And Michael Douglas Also Starring Martin Short Jason Bateman
+MK1MonsterOck1989 Yeah, The Watcher in the Woods cam out in 1980 were Something Wicked This Way Comes came out in 83. While I do think that Something Wicked This Way Comes is stronger this is most likely do to Bradberry himself adapting the script. But this doesn't mean The Watcher in the Woods is bad. Honestly I'd recommend checking it out at least once. Man Disney was brave in the 80s. :)
Another underrated Disney film. It should be part of Disney Plus catalog.
Beautiful, everyone should know this movie!
One of my favorite movies to watch during spooky season
I love Halloween 🙂
A well made film, not Disney's usual movie fare for the time. A lush gorgeous score by the late James Horner.
I love this movie so much, it's a fantastic film.
I wish Disney took more risks like this, sure it's unlike what they normally make, but it was a risk that really payed off.

my favorite childhood movie.
Horner channeling Williams' Imperial March! I love it!
