Music from soundtracks, especially action sequences, are NOT songs! They're called "cues." A cue is music written strictly to enhance the scene you're watching. Cues may often contain elements of some thematic material which can remind the audience of that theme. There are sometimes many themes in a movie. The composer very often will include elements of one or more of those themes under the action on screen. These, however, are NOT "songs," as most people define the word.
"Firemares!! Firemares could travel over a thousand leagues in a day!" Absolutely one of the most iconic cues, and Mr. Horner's score in its entirety lifted Krull from something that could have been somewhat pedestrian to the heights of 80's swords & sorcery greatness.
Soundtracks have been the " classical music " of the 20th and 21st centuries so far . . . Every soundtrack reminds you of the story and the characters . I love all of the soundtracks to the Star Trek franchise , Star Wars franchise , not so much . But all of the movies of the 80s had incredible soundtracks . All of these composers are great !
This piece of music is amazing and is from the part of the movie when they need to reach the Black Fortress very quickly, so they tame the firemares - very fast flying horses. It amazes me that this film is not known about by more people, as it is one of the best films made at a time that was a golden era of film making. The part where the harp is playing is when the horses take off and it still makes my eyes water thinking about it now.
