Under LEOSA, I traveled and carried out of state via airports while active LE and off-duty since day #1. That included Hawaii, east coast, west coast, everywhere. It was never an issue at ANY airport. When I retired last year, I knew that I’d still carry everywhere under LEOSA, but that I’d need 10-rnd or less capacity magazines in some states. No big deal, as I just carry two spare magazines with me and a smaller framed gun (Glock 26, 27, 43 or 43X). Being retired now for a year, I still carry concealed in Hawaii and thanks to LEOSA, it’s good for us retirees there as well. However, I’ll NEVER travel to NY with a concealed weapon, even though it’s technically legal under LEOSA, I’ve heard of some active and retired cops that still have had some “hassling” by local LEO’s while carrying a concealed weapon. I think it’s usually from the uninformed and anti-2A LEO’s out there. …plus NY is a siht-hole anyway, so I have no desire to ever go there again.

As long you do not leave the secure terminals, you are ok. You are taking a connecting flying. Your luggage transferred to the connecting flight .
