Heya bud, id recommend for a better outcome on the streaking grime. Before applying, add a layer of Matt varnish, once dried then apply the streaking grime, once thats dried (15/20 mins) then use odourless thinner on a cu-tip and wipe off the excess, that will remove pooling on the surface and then keep it in the recesses
You are absolutely correct in that it's a method to take the effect further! I thought about whether I should add those steps, however it gets a bit more complicated for folks starting once you start using extra chemicals. As someone who's especially sensitive to things like IPA and Mineral Spirits, I wanted to show what the effect looks like without that step. It also comes down to a matter of taste, I kinda like the left over Enamel paints on the surface mini. Thank being said you can bet when I move onto doing my big knights I will be Matte varnishing before adding ANY enamel paints. lol
A good alternative for streaking grime 50/50 mix of contrast medium and garaghaks sewer. For the homies that dont vibe with enamels yet want a very similar color and effect
Pretty intriguing video. Probably the most straightforward introduction to streaming grime I’ve seen. I quite like the result too, seems like a low barrier to entry and reasonable method to get cool looking minis on the tabletop. Thank you
I'm glad you enjoyed it! As you'll see in some other videos or comments there are more steps if you want to have additional control/make it much more subtle, but I think this is a great start for a lot of folks who just want to get a basecoat down and want their minis to look good for the tabletop! :-)
You really have leveled up since the early video i saw. Also for what you mentioned about trying to document your journey and provide a much more achievable result for brand new painters i think it works. Its also pretty neat that youre sharing techniques that seem new to you. Really gives the sense that youre helping newbies understand that getting outside of a comfort zone can get you amazing new results.
Thanks for the time to watch and comment! That's been a big thing for me watching other videos, I'd feel like I couldn't match the pros and I'd have a little less confidence for trying to new things. Just trying to make it a little more accessible for everyone :-)
death Guard color scheme, bot Raven Guard. Other than that, I think this is a great format. I can't wait to see the progression over the upcoming episodes! Thank you for sharing!
I have a pro tip for you: Visit a warhammer store with some friends. Make the model of the month and walk out with minis - all to yourself. I have 6 new space marines. (and no more friends)
Always down for some constructive criticisms or tips if you have any! I personally enjoy the dirty look of the mini at the end but I'm always open to different ideas and tastes!

Thanks for the tip :)
Contrast Paint is tinting the Surface beneath and you can't remove it after 5 minutes. Great tip. 👏🏻

Another pro tip for hydration paper, keep an old gift card and use it to help get air bubbles out, I use an old lil caesars gift card for mine
Ooooo... Great tip!
Warhammer curious 😂
It's true. It all starts with an interest!
Looks excellent!
I really appreciate that! Thank you so much :-)
Cool tip. 🖌
Thanks for saying so! :-)

Hey! I'm glad you enjoyed my video! For clarities sake, is Wraithbone not used for the Deathwing knights? I tried to keep it the official color :-/

Great Tip! Now I have all these minis to paint!
Somebody pass the Nuln!
*Crickets*
Should have seen that coming…
"High Quality Video Content". All the painting is out of focus. 🙂↔
Yea, this Mobhammer's a schmuck ;-)
Ngl that doesn't look good.
