    In this video, I go GREEN and paint plants! Ferns, flowers, greenery!!
    Plus I invent a 1 pigment experiment with Green Apatite Genuine, by Daniel Smith. 💚
    Always Direct Watercolor because I like this approach so much and because of the #30x30DirectWatercolor2018!! 😃
    Paintings plants and using greens can be so much fun, either with a lot of color variations or with only one pigment!! I ended up inventing this 1 pigment experiment #1pigmentexperiment by playing with Daniel Smith Green Apatite Genuine. What a luscious color!! 😃

    Wonderful! I crazily love green (also because I'm passionate about plants) and this pigment is fantastic. The one-pigment painting is a very tempting idea, I'll try :) I've known 30x30 challenge thanks to you and is a so enriching experience! I'm grateful for that and for your beautiful videos

      I am really happy you liked the video and the 1 pigment experiment in this one. Haha, I have the same problem as you with the song!!! These days, I just can't help having all the time in my mind the "paint it bright" one!! 🤣 It makes me laugh a lot to imagine you humming "Paint paint paint..." at work!!!!! 😱 😂 🤣 Haha, I got you!!! 😛 😜

    There are so many blackberry bushes in flower near me now. I’ve been looking at them but felt it was too much to paint. Maybe I will try now. I love the green appetite color. I have it. Also I have not been at all interested in lettering but it looks so lovely in your sketchbook that I am more interested now. I’ve been inspired. 🧡💛🧡💛

    Thanks for the walk in the woods! I look forward each time to where you will take us. I especially enjoyed today's paintings because your approach to each one was so creative, such as adding one frond at a time to the fern montage and then creating so much dynamic interest in the second painting using only one pigment. Quite a tour de force! 🌿

    Well, thanks a lot, another paint to add to my pallet! Actually , I had recently been thinking that there are a million greens on the market, but that not very many of them appear in Nature. I paint a lot of florals, some in Botanical style, so good greens are essential, and I usually mix my own. So, it will be nice to have a short cut, so, really ... Thanks!
    Ferns, while intimidating , are beautiful and you did them well. A good solution to the problem. Well done!
    I always feel refreshed when we go for a walk in the woods.... so thanks!

    • @FollowingtheWhiteRabbit
      @FollowingtheWhiteRabbit  6 лет назад

      You are very right, Deborah. I was thinking I would always mix my own greens for the reasons you talked about and this is the paint that made me decide to do otherwise. 😉
      As you said, it's a real shortcut for the mixing as it's already a nice color for a green, not too bright,plus you kill too birds with the same stones with the effects you can get with it as well. 😃 Thank you, see you!!! 😘

  • @layercakearts

    SO beautiful, amazing what you created with just one color! I'm so inspired to try this, sometimes having too many watercolors to choose from feels paralyzing to me, I'm glad to get back to basics today with this challenge. And your hand lettering is just the perfect finish. Thank you for such wonderful YT content!

    • @FollowingtheWhiteRabbit
      @FollowingtheWhiteRabbit  6 лет назад

      Thanks a lot for so many great compliments Layer Cake Arts! 😃 😘 I have a tendency, too, to sometimes use too much colors so I guess the challenge is good for me too. 😉
      I am happy you like the lettering! I worked a bit on it these past weeks and I think it's so soothing! I like to do that when I don't know what to draw in my sketchbook. 😊 I write down a quote or something with calligraphy, or sometimes a few stamps. 😛 😉 I am really happy you like the channel! ❤️

  • @scarlettHischild

    It looks soooo amazing!! I love the fern, and how you blurred out the edges too at the ends and the splatter. I forgot about the little squirt bottle spray that you suggested in another video of yours I have watched. I need to make one for myself and to try that technique. It will probably help me a lot to not over wet the paper (as I tend to do 🤦🏻‍♀️), when trying to do the wet on wet technique. I love how you explain even at the end the splattering. I learn so much from you. 😃 I love that green, and I really love how Daniel smith paints pigments just come to life and bring so much texture and character of their own. Your writing is divinely exquisite! Where did you learn to write like that? Such fun!! 😃😲🤯🤓😊🙌🏻🙏🏻❤️

    Last night I was thinking that maybe a better way for a pen and ink guy to try direct watercolor is to do it with a single color.. It simplifies everything quite a bit.
