Unacceptable...the Mormons do the same thing...once the meetings start the doors are locked ...no one comes or goes from the center and if you've registered to be there and don't check in when you get back to your home church you are asked about it ( grilled)
Thanks for sharing Non-Stamp-Collector's video with us. I've seen them all, and they are priceless. The story of Noah's Ark is so full of patent absurdities that there just isn't enough time or space to list them all.
JWs are nuts and all, but as a person who lives in the middle of bum f nowhere and is accustomed to driving at least an hour to get groceries I chortled when you you said ‘we drove OUT OF STATE’ in reference to what is typically my daily commute.
You can actually build a boat without nails/pegs etc, irving finkel's ''the arc before noah" presentation that is up on youtube talks about it, it's really cool! They still failed at building it but them following the sumerian description is neat
Growing up Christian, and going to youth groups, I never felt like I fit in , I had to be someone I’m not. I never enjoyed being with kids that were very judge mental.
Yes, true Christians are hard to find sometimes. A christian welcomes others, doesn't judge them, and tries their best to understand them. I'm sorry for those who hurt you in that way.:(
If the rectangular prism has the four "long" faces equal, it's called a cuboid. So that's the shape of the ark to the JWs, it doesn't look....boat-like!
My condolences to any children who have to or had to live with this religion for a big part of their lives. Instead of looking forward to Christmas or Halloween, you look forward to a 3 hour trip to do what you already do at church but longer, and much more boring.
I think they purposefully tried imitating the art style of some of the most endearing and progressive shows from the past decade, particularly Steven Universe (immediate association with the environmental art). I think they sorta mixed Californian Arts with their own take and it's scary because they know this shit is going to work on at least some kids. I wouldn't be surprised if they had personal beef with Bluey (another incredible show with great environmental art) and some modern Cartoon Network shows. Suuuuuucks, man, I can't believe they can just do that
Funny thing: if Noah was supposedly putting pairings of animals of each kind, then he would have had to know about taxonomy which didn't exist back then. Yes, actual speciation did exist, but the science covering it was unknown to humans (although there were some Greek philosophers and scientists who suggested something akin to evolution). So how exactly would he be able to figure that out? Well, he wouldn't, not without observing and proving evolution. It is impossible, it's a paradox. Even if God theoretically told him who to choose, it's still in direct conflict with the fact of evolution and taxonomy.
I thought about that too. Most of their animations resemble modern-day kids cartoons. I'm thinking that perhaps one of those shows' animators is a JW and of course provides their services to the religion (FOR FREE!)
Oh wow, I had a copy of My Book of Bible Stories as a kid. We were Baptist, but I was also a voracious reader as a kid and we probably snagged it at a yard sale, I remember those illustrations. It always creeped me out, I never actually bothered to read it and went straight to novels marketed as Horror genre openly. 😂
it reminds me of historians in the past, 2000 years ago historians were not like now they recorded histories and such but many of the times it was what they were told, they had no way to verify if the trojan war happened or such.
The "can't wait for the convention" brought back so many memories. It's not the Jehovah's witnesses convention, it's a Christian thing. Some of you might know it, the ACE school of tomorrow national convention. There was also the international convention but I didn't have the budget for that. So glad those days have gone by and i get to live as a happy heretic
Why does this 1st song make me think of the JWs wack,off-brand version of Adventure Time, where instead of fun they just read the Bible with their hands folded, sitting quietly😂
This reminds me of something I went to as a kid, CA conventions I think it was christain ambasadors or something like that, we would all head to the convention and have a few days of praise, singing and events. I was a pentacostal at the time.
Mormons had General Conference. There were satellites at the chapels. So, you would go and take notes too. It was fun too. Now of course you just watch it online.
I grew up Seventh-Day Adventist and we had a regional gathering every year called Camp Meeting. It was basically half a week of worship at a campground. I remember getting excited for it too. I'm not religious, and now I have friends that live across the street from the campgrounds that Camp Meeting is held in. I go to this friends house to play DnD 😸
I remember my aunts and grandmother took me to an "assembly" back in the 1970's when I was little. It felt fun, knew it was a religious thing but not my church function and I got to hang out with my cousins. I was baptised Protestant- Dutch Reformed. Small church slowly grew very small; the Korean community now has it. I live 20 minutes west of NYC.
Ah, so Noah's Ark is Gilgamesh fanfic, got it. 👌 Love your work, man. My bff got involved with JWs a year ago and she stopped talking to me after 30 years of friendship, so you help me understand how that happened. Thank you for real.
Actually he didn't help you, he brainwashed you can't you see he doesn't even believe the bible is God's word, Satan is controlling this guy's thinking, he's the serpent don't be fooled like Eve.
My grandmother was Lutheran but was too nice to turn away JWs and let them visit her regularly. I think she liked the company but she still went to her church as always and her beliefs never changed. Anyway, they gave my brother and me each a JW children's book of Bible stories when we were very little and hadn't yet learned to read. I remember the pictures scaring and creeping me out me out.
A few pedantic points: Particle Board uses adhesive to hold chunks or pulp together, is entirely inappropriate for structural uses, and I believe that they can't be directly exposed to water either. Plywood uses adhesive to hold thin sheets together and is likewise inappropriate. Most likely Noah would have needed whole boards. One significant advancement in shipbuilding is a weight in the bottom called a keel. Technically, any shape could be held upright with a proper keel, but the wider and more regular a shape is for the height the smaller the keel needs to be for that purpose. The reason the bottom of almost all watercraft of any size is round is that true corners have very low pressure tolerance compared to a round bottom. The only exceptions that I can think of is jet skis and airboats that can't be used in rough water and also use a technique called fluting (which is not a true corner anyways) to resist bending, and flat rafts that are used because better options are not available. I apologize if I appear aggressive or haughty, I don't mean it like that.

There was a story with three kids reading that exact same story!
You're right about the flat bottom , I know somebody who built his own wooden boat with a flat bottom to go fishing , huge mistake. I went fishing with him and almost got turned over by a shallow wave at slow speed 😂 I was having stomach cramps from laughing too hard 😂
6:20 Caleb and Sophia Cameo? I mean it makes sense to include the quick subliminal message of "Caleb and Sophia are at the convention like good little Jehovahs Whitnesseses. Are you going to be at the convention, and be good like them?"
---
Also, is it weird I get giddy every time I see your tree? Idk I guess It's just a symbol of your freedom, and ultimately your happy life out from under the thumbs of the governing body 🤷
The yellow book, I loved that book, not because I was JW, my great grandma was converted, and she gave it to me, and I loved my great grandma. And I'm happy that she never took me to get converted XD
Fab video as always!
I just have to let you know that I think the word you were looking for is cuboid 😂 16:40
I’m pretty sure it’s rectangular prism, which he actually says out loud and doesn’t seem to notice
My best friend of 16 years is from a (non practicing) Mormon Family. I can't remember if practicing Mormons fail the Byte Model or not. I remember she told me that Non Practicing Mormons are called Jack Mormons.
I lived long time around Muslims in a secular country. Most of them remember of Islam only when it’s Ramadan or they want to insult lgbtq community. They were called cultural Muslims.
Nice to see I'm not the only one who had their Christmas tree up still in January lol.
That taylor swift song popped up in my head! Lol!
"We can leave the Christmas lights up til January"
I use Ethiopian Christmas as an excuse.
30 minutes? Not everyone is arriving on time, especially for example, if someone is late because of horrible traffic
Unacceptable...the Mormons do the same thing...once the meetings start the doors are locked ...no one comes or goes from the center and if you've registered to be there and don't check in when you get back to your home church you are asked about it ( grilled)
That's a stoning.
@@gregoryferber3231 that's interesting because I never heard that word before, but thanks for explaining that i guess.
Do I spy Caleb and Sofia's family by 6:21 what a crossover 😅
Thank you for keeping up the awareness.
Thanks for sharing Non-Stamp-Collector's video with us. I've seen them all, and they are priceless. The story of Noah's Ark is so full of patent absurdities that there just isn't enough time or space to list them all.
6:21 there! thats them officer! caleb and sophia thinking they can hide in another jehovahs witness animation!
6:20 The family in this shot kind of looks like Caleb and Sophia's family.
6:20 i think i found caleb and Sophia. Should've guessed they'd be there.
I always fall asleep during these conventions. I would've stayed awake longer if the ones I attended were in English.
Idk how people stay focused during these conventions. I used to always space out
I don't believe there are any scriptural passage that suggested noah went out preaching...unless someone can tell me one.
In the UK, you'd've learned that shape as a cuboid. But the US does have some differences in mathematical language, so idk.
Y'all, that Noah's Ark parody video 😂😂😂😂 so many great points, I can't
You gotta give credit where credit is due. JW's got some skilled artists.
The Noah animation also gave me major Steven Universe vibes (and, of course, singing along with the ukulele is a thing that regularly happens on SU).
Wow; a giant "floating" box. No bow, keel or rudder huh
WAIT at 6.22 there are caleb and sofia lol
Saw them! Lol! And their parents were there, too
A parallelepiped is a shape where all 6 sides are shapes with 4 corners. Great video! 😊
*where all 6 sides are parallelograms
Oh wow, I had a copy of My Book of Bible Stories as a kid. We were Baptist, but I was also a voracious reader as a kid and we probably snagged it at a yard sale, I remember those illustrations. It always creeped me out, I never actually bothered to read it and went straight to novels marketed as Horror genre openly. 😂
I need MORE Owen's cats!
🎶 ... and two felines in a cat tree 🎶
More like "Can't Wait for the Convention to be Over ". Conventions are the WORST when you're a kid.... And an adult.
it reminds me of historians in the past, 2000 years ago historians were not like now they recorded histories and such but many of the times it was what they were told, they had no way to verify if the trojan war happened or such.
Noahs house looks like a trailer…. Didn’t know there were Airstreams in those days! Haha😅
what a welcome surprise to see you giving promo to non stamp collector!! two of my favorite creators having a lil moment :’)
Jehova's house is a room with a drop ceiling that could be literally any corporate thing anywhere in the us?
Why does this 1st song make me think of the JWs wack,off-brand version of Adventure Time, where instead of fun they just read the Bible with their hands folded, sitting quietly😂
This reminds me of something I went to as a kid, CA conventions I think it was christain ambasadors or something like that, we would all head to the convention and have a few days of praise, singing and events. I was a pentacostal at the time.
Mormons had General Conference. There were satellites at the chapels. So, you would go and take notes too. It was fun too. Now of course you just watch it online.
Had? It's still happening, most people just don't go in person because of distance or time.
18:40 it’s 500. 50 is the absolute minimum you could survive with, but at least 500 to avoid the worst of biology
Love your work, man.
15:49 this page scared me so much bc I thought that everyone that wasn’t Jehovah witness would choke me for being JW
A few pedantic points:
Particle Board uses adhesive to hold chunks or pulp together, is entirely inappropriate for structural uses, and I believe that they can't be directly exposed to water either.
The Ark story is even more ridiculous when, like the YEC's, you put dinosaurs on it.
bru. Is that the long beach arena in Cali?
I had a friend who was in that cult and she hated it i felt so bad for her 😢
Together in Jehovah's house (totally not the Staples Center...)
I'm sorry, but 16:40 made me laugh: "A cube is a unique type of rectangular prism...I don't know what you call it then" 😂
According to research, boats were not invented until the third Millennium bc in eygypt.
At 6:20 they show Caleb and Sophia! Neat little inclusion.
No horror, slasher, or crime movie has ever been as scary as the video you just showed us @telltale 😳😖😨😂
Flashback to Spring Harvest.
Thank you editor for the kitty fan service :) such fluffy butts!
Even the literal cult uses the accursed Calarts style
It is called a rectangular prism.
