What NETFLIX DIDN’T Tell You About the SWAMP KINGS - The REAL Story of the Florida Football Dynasty

- In this video, I document what the new "Netflix Untold: Swamp Kings" series did not include. The Netflix series covered the University of Florida Gators football team from 2005-2010 - while Urban Meyer was head coach - but did not get into the highly popularized and controversial events that made this team so interesting. The series had the potential to be great, but ultimately fell flat on it's face. I try my best to tell you what they didn't.

I made this video nearly a year ago and in the past few months it has finally began to gain traction. So let me address/clarify this:
I put my best foot forward in creating this video, but I still missed a lot of information, I'm sure. The entire point of the video is to point out what Netflix Untold's "Swamp Kings" documentary left out. They did a horrible job. In a four part docu-series where you tell "Untold" stories about a controversial team, it should've turned out a lot different than it did. They had access to players/coaches/staff, tons of money to produce it, etc. You can go watch the series if you'd like, just know it's going to romanticize the team and turn a blind eye to all of their issues. This video was meant to pick that documentary apart. Thanks for watching.
Where is the Cam video?
Copyright issues took it down

Fire content brother
To those who are unaware, you should know that Urban Meyer only participated in this series after being granted editorial control to sanitize this era of his coaching career to improve his posterity in college football history
As soon as I saw that Meyer and (whispering) Tebow were the main people being interviewed, I knew it would be some BS.
Haha the Tebow whispering commentary was very odd. Trying to distract us from all the stuff they left out
Especially that that waffle teebow😊
They really wanted to romanticize the Florida gators like they were some great fairytale... good video , keep the truth coming.
exactly right. they left out all the bad parts, which is the large majority of the story. thanks for the support and comment
Why can’t they just want them remembered as a great football team? Which they were.
@@juliananthony1226 it's almost like they were not use to that level of success . or maybe they wanted history to remember them as the best ever. I think they are top 10 for sure.
@@jimmyjam5453they are. Legacy team. Swimming has had studs at UF. Baseball has been decent. Tennis. Basketball. I keep saying this and I'm a UConn Husky over Gators all day. Rebecca Lobo is my girl. My Michael Jordan.
Not many other schools sports wise have done what UF has done. UF is humble about it too. Again UF golf isn't a slouch either. UF rollerblading? We never stopped. 😂
@@juliananthony1226i think the lies or general skirting around issues makes it look bad. Youre not wrong but you have to address the culture of the program also.
There’s so many juicy stories like this from teams in the 70s, 80s, and 90s but we probably won’t ever hear about them
Suggest a few, I’ll look into them
@@barreldelphia I can’t think of any from college of the top of my head but I’ve read books about craziness in the NFL from teams like the 70s Oakland Raiders. I just know there was some good old characters running around campuses back then
@@Football__JunkieI’d have to think Alabama from the 70s had to be pretty interesting. Also the old notre dame and penn state teams
@@barreldelphiaJohn Brantley and Joey Sorrentino went to trinity catholic in my parents town. I knew some kids who went there and ran into them quite a bit. Ocala is was and will always be a party town and we partied hearty for sure.
@@barreldelphiaone of my family's church members Chris Johnson was also a Gator. (I knew him well I drummed at the church then occasionally when he was younger) I'm not a sports guy like my dad was but apparently he had a less than desirable performance and it bothered him apparently. He shipped out to a lesser known school and committed suicide. It was really sad. As I'm watching this I see some of the footage is from Gator Bait😂. I'm from CT we didn't move down here until early 2000s and I was already nearly done with school. Growing up we'd visit my parents parents in Ocala and my Father would always have past issues of Gator Bait from his mother waiting on him.😂
Again I'm NOT a sports guy but the UF stuff rubbed off on me. I own the NIKE trainer 1.2 Tebow Promise shoe. 😂 I passed on buying it in its original era because I didn't think I would wear them, but later regretted it as I love shoes. I got lucky not long ago and grabbed em for not much over 100 beans.
The Gators and I are still attached in 2020 I was cooking for Dan Mullen. And I forgot in mid 2000 with a stoner friend we did a boat cover for Billy Donovan. 😂
I've always been a James Patterson fan and even that was goofy he wrote about hernandez, as we know soo much controversy around the Gators. It's actually the bigger story.
Cool somebody covered these incidents. After Cam left UF, he was infamously called "scam Newton". Supposedly, the laptop was stolen by somebody else.Cam bought that laptop through a third party allegedly.
Cam was caught red handed stealing the laptop! Otherwise he would’ve never been run off. But you bet that had they not had Tebow he would’ve never been kicked off the team.
They most likely didn't mention those things in the series because alot of the things you bring up happened after they left college. Pretty sure the documentary was about their college years
Still plenty of stuff going on with them in college. It’s fair not to include stuff that happened after their years at UF, but he did bring up moments that should’ve at least painted a picture of more fanatical sides to college football programs.
Like what? So far everything he’s talked about happened while at Florida! Matter of fact it seems they were their worst while at Florida! So please explain what you mean by “happened after they left college”!
Cap bro most the shit he talked about happened while they was in college😂😂
@@chrisemerson7743he don’t know what he means bro 😂
"I don't want to spend to much time on this topic" in a video that's completely about how a documentary didn't spend enough time on a topic is actually crazy
That’s because I don’t want to talk about murder. They’re making money off their’s, I’m not.
@@barreldelphiaI always forget Billy Donovan brought back to back championships when all before this certain period UF wasn't taken too seriously as a basketball school. So even before the Tebow era the schools legendary status was cemented. And this is coming from a UConn guy.😂
Roll tide 🌊 6 title since 2009- 18 national championship total and the two highest rated college coaches ever. The first goat Bear Bryant - 6 national championship the new undisputed goat -Nick Saban with 7 national championship 6 at Bama and 1 at LSU. Roll damn Tide 🌊
Why don’t they do a documentary on 90’s Nebraska teams
I love those teams.....
The players stayed lowkey afterwards or just disappeared. Unfortunately for FL they got public with all the nonsense and it continued into the NFL.
Theyre still a crazy story. Just look at those teams in the 90’s and their arrest records😂
Why does this video have less than a 1k views. This video is gold and deserves a million views
We’ll get there soon. Thanks for the support
Great video! I agree that this story left too much on table. It seems the Untold series is doing that with most of the stories. I was really disappointed with the Johnny Manziel story as well.
This was fantastic. Subbed
Appreciate it my friend
Rest of the team is like "Let's get some strippers, some liquor, some blow, xanax for come down, definitely need herb, probably couple hotel rooms" Tebow is like "But we need to say our prayers and thank the lord and savior Jesus Christ for this wonderful team and putting us together on this faithful night"
idk if this is good but tebow was the angel standing in the Hood
Can you imagine Tebow being A Hernandez’ chaperone for his weekend visit? 😂 now that’s funny!
Need a part 2 ASAP
Stay tuned
Phenomenal video
Wasn't the man shot in the arm Matt Patchan who was a gators recruit that ended up going to miami?
Not sure but the dude he shot in the back of the head was supposedly a good friend from back in Connecticut! He didn’t want to leave any witnesses! Aaron was a messed up dude! I don’t think will ever fully know what he had done or what he was capable of! He had killed 3 people but I’m betting there were more!
Great vid, I left a like and a subscribe. Keep up the excellent content.
I'm not sure which is worse. Netflix's butchery of the truth on any topic or any person expecting anything realistic to come from netflix.
Urban Myer controls the narrative
Seeing other teams get the "death penatly" for recruiting violations all while this shit was going on at Florida is the sole reason I hope the program stays in the fucking gutter, especially Urban Meyer. I can understand covering up failed drug tests, but they were covering up murder, theft, and assaults. Worst part is the NCAA was asleep at the wheel so Florida literally got off scott free.
It takes a little more to make a champion.
They won on Basketball too... and other athletics have done well like swimming... I mean don't hate. And this is coming from a Uconn guy. I got lucky I'd say.
@@kevincollins8620you lose cool points when you don’t win honorably. That’s the point
@@julius.shambles7 Honor only matter in Anime my guy. As a skater ball sports don't value honor. Where you been? And tell me I'm lying.
yea thats insane like this isnt as crazy as the nevin shapiro and the Miami situation but its still worth talking about, meyer is one shaddy SOB
Just about everyone in the state of FL knows that the Urban Meyer gaders were some of the worst people to play football since the 80s/90s Miami Hurricanes. If it weren’t for Tebow they would have gone down in history as the most disgusting team to ever play. Meyer attracted despicable humans to his team and covered up their misdeeds continually.
After i watched the documentary i as a Florida fan was terrified that this was an attempt to whitewash Urban's shit so the university could hire him back
I think Cam Newton knew he was NOTICEABLY better than Tim Tebow, and starting Tebow over Cam Newton was “office politics” . Not to say Tim Tebow was not an all time great cfb player, but he is not Cam Newton. With Cam Newton as starting QB, I can’t say it would have meant an additional 20 pts to change outcome of the game, but it would have definitely been closer. Tim Tebow was a great facilitator of ELITE ball carriers, WITH one future HOF offensive lineman, and another elite multiple pro bowl offensive lineman. Put Cam Newton on that offense, and actually, they have a good shot at beating Bama in SEC Championship. Deshaun Watson was another very special player who gave Bama defense problems. If some country bumpkin defensive end from Kentucky hit Cam Newton, he probably would have broken the tackle, Tim Tebow went fencing reflex. I wonder if he and Tebow tangled in those sanctioned tussles on the matts. Cam would have embarrassed him. “If this happened, we would have heard about it from Cam Newton.” Not necessarily, Cam had good guidance from his father on how to navigate those waters. Tebow was a media darling, who had proven himself to be a multiple time national champion, and Heisman trophy winner. But just do me this favor: off the top of my head, I can name six Florida offensive players not named Tebow (Pouncey, Pouncey, Harvin, Hernandez, Cooper, Will Demps). On Auburn, I can name Dwyer #5 the running back because his sprawl out to keep knees off grass vs Oregon. And white dude #43 RIP. Very solid players, but not high round draft picks.
ya idk much about football but the series felt very underwhelming i felt like i had felt like there was something i was missing out on
Wasn't there a player who did squats and his quads collapsed or something like that?
Yess!! It's literally called the valentines day massacre
Yes. His name was Kevin Nash
All of Meyer’s combined scandals are nowhere near as bad as actively cheating and knowing EXACTLY what every single opponent is going to call.
The rug starts lifting up and he scurries out of town like a coward to escape accountability.
At least Meyer faced his shit like an adult
When? When did Meyer face any of his shit like an adult! He tucked tail and ran more than once! “I must retire because of my health”! Took a year off and went to Ohio state! Or did you forget that part?
That aaron hernandez sure was a killer on the field, crazy good TE
😂 about as good a killer as he was off the field!
I enjoyed this documentary (even as a Georgia fan) but it did feel like a constant highlight reel that never explored the true issues this team faced in this era, and really made urban Meyer seem a like an angel which isn’t this case. Also Tebow was credited for being some super cool leader guy but apparently that didn’t translate to some of his teammates who did stupid shit which the documentary hardly explored.
So grown men went and made mistakes and that makes tebow not a leader?
Tebow was a leader on the field. But off the field they looked at him like the teachers pet. Someone who had probably never been in a real fight in his life!
@@robertpulliam4152everybody makes mistakes. But most of us don’t make these type of mistakes! The type that can get you some real time in prison!
And Jameis Winston kept Cam from getting one at Auburn.
That doc isn’t even worth watching. Same for the Manziel doc. Only thing I can imagine is that the filmmakers chose access over truth.
Even I heard about the UF guys and went to school in Maryland. Lol
UF is legendary. I was revisiting an old emo band Sunny Day Realestate and their front man has rocked 2 Gators shirts 😂 back in their early years. They are from Cobains region....
It's pretty common for you to hear about a dominant powerhouse all the way out in...Maryland? I mean if you would have said you heard about them in Lebanon or Turkey I would have been shocked. But you said Maryland?? Really??
@@corysheffield7775 China and Korea messes with UF heavy.
This is great info. And it doesn’t change a damn thing about how good that team was.
It shouldn't necessarily do that. What it is supposed to do is shed light on the reputation that Meyer should have rather than the one who works so hard to scrub of these things.
Bo it don't. They produced the Biggest Murderer in NFL History. Be Real Proud Bro
This is fantastic
Appreciate that my friend
They did cover the laptop story.
I didnt see this, but I remember all the gators stories.
Can Vice Sports or somebody give us a real documentary
I went to your page to look for your Cam Newton college career video and couldn’t find it. Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what?
Hell of a team though.
Well done
I would imagine they wanted to avoid any lawsuits
They glossed over Hernandez. I'm glad that The Dynasty (Apple TV).
I watched the Aaron doc and love the untold serie never knew he played for them
I wonder what happen to their TE. That dude was a killer on the field.
Killer off the field too
He was got more hang time than a North Korean missle
Zach Smith wasn’t mentioned because it didn’t happen in Florida
Where's the Cam documentary?
Can’t help but hear you saying “Iron Hernandez” over and over again
History being revised(even in sports)? You don't say....
Nope Myer is scum
They glossed over Aaron Hernandez
I think them leaving Aaron out was probably out of their hands and for the best
The trailer lied. They still need to a 30for30 about these teams and learn the true story
Wondering how Bill Belichick drafted Aaron Hernandez? Did the Pats do their homework?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 for your video
I was 4 and even I can remember seeing them on the news damn near every day
Florida and Cam could have had 2 more national championships and a Heisman or two more if not for the laptop incident
Watching this shit as a student is possibly the saddest thing ever
Texas had the 3rd most passes thrown against in the ncaa because you couldn't run the ball..
Now we were 33rd in passing efficiency defense... so it's not all bad news in the back end..
To me , I there Was a lot of things they left that in that documentary They didn't mention aaron hernandez much on the documentary and they didn't mention much on the D line accept for the linebackers in secondary a tone of things they left out
Arrested “Either in college or after” .. What the fuck does what someone does AFTER college have to do with the University? Man! Yall hate the Gators so much it’s wild!
Rest in peace Aaron Hernandez 💗💗
I still love urban
As a Gator fan, I would gladly take a lot of players getting arrested for a championship. 1990-2010 was the best time of my life. And being a Gator was a huge part of that. Make the Gators Great Again! Go, Gators, always 🐊🐊🐊

Why put Reilly Cooper in the video if his only screw up happened in the pros? Did he ever get in trouble while at Florida? And you wanna group him in with the likes of AH and the Pouncy twins? That’s reaching don’t you think!
Cool story, but I didn't want to see this either. I wanted to know the football related stuff the controversy in regards to the game. We can all Google arrest records. I wanted to know how all these personalities meshed together

I still remember that. When I saw his runs I would say to my Dad "Dude did say he hits hard..."
Yet Gators call us the Criminoles
Cant talk about Aaron Hernazdez probably due to legal reasons . Also there is also a stand alone Nextflix series on him. I would imgaine the rest of the stories were not allowed due to legal reasons and NDA
Not true. They interviewed a ton of people and just cut their material once Meyer pushed hard to come on board and control the doc.
Espn is a Gloss Factory. Especially LeBronze and Kobe!!!
Hernandez was cleared to not be guilty after he died in prison
I didnt know that about Zach Smith, hes famous as a youtuber who got his fame from being Urbans Assistant.
He did this same video downgrading everyone but left out his pregnant wife beating of course!
Yea cam said they left out hella shh.
Ummm I’m literally watching swamp kings for the 1st time on my Xbox and this video is recommended on my iPhone.. wtf!

Do you really think Netflix would bring up black crime? They absolutely ignored it purpose
I love my Florida team🐊🐊 they will always be my team until i leave this world. But i did remember all those times when tebow was there i would get pissed off on how some of the best players that i enjoy watching will get in some trouble. It was imbarssing for us Florida fans.
I want to see urban coaching again in college
All teams have trouble players they just hate Florida more
Just got started but good coverage you know Obamas and Netflix gotta cover up
I think people dont see that out community is toxic. I get why they said what they did. I also realize its a symptom of a community thats, for lack of a better term, ghetto. Even if hes your brother you saw he wasnt a good person. Multiple people have shown this. They knew he wanted to be a gangster. Just like the pounceys early in their lives. If my brother or friend is going that path i correct them or they have to go. I did the gangbanging and made it out. I dont say this to be cool. I want my people to do well but they hold themselves back by having views like this. I went from being a gang member to trucking to armed security and now a deputy. I changed my life because people held me accountable at home. I couldnt come home wearing my colors. My mom and step father never once wavered on setting me straight.
Just like urban Meyer, all netflix did was cover up every actual untold stories that happened with this team full of criminals
Kirby smart is speed running urbans Florida
Bru talk Gators swimming.
I’m waiting for the episode about Tebow and Hernandez being closeted lovers during tear time in Gainesville.
GO GATORS
Love that enthusiasm
Everything you mentioned regarding Aaron Hernandez was covered in depth in the NETFLIX “the killer inside, the mind of Aaron Hernandez. Why tell that story twice? And They clearly brushed over Aaron Hernandez in “The Swamp” documentary so that his own crazy story didn’t overshadow the obvious “Gator dynasty football story” they were trying to tell.
Urban Meyer is an egotistical but job.
I’ll tell you what happend , them gators was the best team in college football ever. Mind her business about Aaron. Oh except Cam. Go ahead and do a tell all on that piece trash.
