Yeah a couple weeks ago I was out at Foss reservoir in Oklahoma and there was a guide out there that I talked to first thing that morning when I unloaded my boat and he was unloading his boat. About noon he came by with his boat as I was fishing and asked if I had caught any and at the time we had only caught two over 20in. I told him I've been here the last 3 weeks in a row and can't catch any hybrids under 20 inches and he said yeah we can't catch any unders either so I asked him how many fish they've caught and he said 18. Well with three people in his boat counting the guide himself you can only have five over 20 inches per person per day and if they haven't caught any unders that means they're three fish over the limit. So if he does that and counts himself and goes over the limit and does multiple trips a day imagine the violations this guy commits every day. Totally unbelievable and there's nothing you can do about it you can tell the game wardens and they are never there.
@glynnreid1217 well the guide isn't allowed to count him or herself beyond a standard daily limit so if they are doing that every trip to get more fish for their customers I'd say there's no telling without checking them every trip But when the do multiple trips per day and count themselves every trip I'd say they keeping at least 15 over the limit fish per day minimum. The point is people should follow the laws and limits when taking wildlife of any type. It's called being a responsible, respectful, and morally sound person.

Recently I read an article about a couple people that got arrested for spearfishing Bass personally as long as you eat the fish I don't really care. And I don't think it should be illegal to spearfish given the fact that it's been a form of fishing since the beginning of human history and it's literally the earliest form of fishing but to each their own.
Yeah but when spearfishing started, they didn't have advanced devices like Pneumatic spearguns using compressed air. That's what these guys were using. I read the article. Now if they go out there with just spears they would not have caught so many bass and it wouldn't be as severe. Imo
My license was checked at my local lakes 3 times in a single week last month…DFG was called on reports of illegal poaching activity. I typically have my license checked once or twice a year. Fishermen, be sure to report any illegal activity to your local DFG. Typically, on the back of your license, there’s a hotline # you can call to report suspicious/illegal activity. Sure, by the time a DFG personnel gets the report, the perpetrator usually is long gone, but from what I’ve witnessed, the DFG will increase their visits to that body of water and catch other poachers by just being there more frequently.
not only fishing, hunting too. i was out for a sunday afternoon drive and i started seeing all these dead rabbits laying in the road. Probably about 7 or 8, kept on going and ran into a few teen age boys with guns and then i knew what had happened. got the license plate of the vehicle they were driving. Turned them in to the local warden at that time. Nothing ever happened, they all walked away not even a fine, or anything. But now days our wildlife is too precious, renewable or not. One day hunting will be a thing of the past. And that is sad.
I just had a quick comment. Your video recording volume is very low. I have excellent hearing. My devices have great sound. Most videos I can listen to at less than 50 % volume even with a lot of noise around me. I understand that a lot of people may use earbuds, headphones or other listening devices, but that stuff will wreck peoples' hearing if they do not keep volume down on them. I do commend you on the video content you provide and the no sudden fluctuations in volume though.
Apology... I had not noticed a friend changed my youtube video volume for some reason. I let them use my electronics while I was on a 2 week vacation without any electronics with me.
They will be back at it soon.courts don't seem to care about wild or domestic animals. In Florida an immigrant took a sea turtle home to eat but it had a tracking collar on that they found in his garbage. He didn't understand what he did wrong
I agree Randy. As a minority myself, I realize that some people just don't check the regs. But that doesn't mean they can get away with breaking laws and rules. The state enforcements are so weak and rangers/wardens are too soft.
I’m not understanding this. As someone who has lived and fished on Lake St Clair for 68 years are these criminals eating bass? I guess we’re spoiled to also have the # 1 walleye fishery in North America. The only way to eat bass is grilled on a cedar plank for 8 hours, then remove the bass and throw it away then eat the cedar plank 😂😅😂😅
What they did was wrong but I don’t think them trying to get some meat is on par with those guys that loaded up those fish with lead weights for years on end. Also down here on chickamauga I got checked 2 times for fishing license in one day. We get checked all the time. This info is just for reference versus how they do things up north or out west.
I own a speargun, probably the only person that has one. I dive in the Carribean but why can't l use it in my area. Set a limit on what and how many l can take. Like Asian carp for instance?
This is absolutely awful, those were some good sized Bass, key genetics for the lake’s population! Sadly this crap happens more than we would like to imagine or even know! Not just illegal fishing practices but over harvesting, poaching, etc. Here in Wisconsin I’ve seen some pretty nasty things on the water when it comes to people poaching, snagging, netting, using frog spears and carved out spears to catch fish. You call the DNR and rarely does anyone actually show up , either due to lack of funding or short staff I am sure. Between the amount of licensed fisherman, poachers , and technology advancing, lack of funding for DNR/Marine biology research, it is getting harder and harder to manage our lakes, rivers, and ponds. And every body of water has to be managed individually, there is no one regulation fits all when it comes to managing fish populations. Hopefully we can keep up with the times and problems we face and still have a future in this sport and generations to come! I’ve seen the fishing in many places go down hill for fishing the past 5-20 years , some so quickly it’s shocking. There’s no denying the impact of fisherman, poachers, and today’s technology. Good luck fishing ! 🎣
People who see violations won't even call the poaching hot line. You may as well just get used to it. Game laws only impact people who are willing to abide by them.
As a Mexican who follows the rules, I can say there’s a lot of beans who eat EVERYTHING. Then feign they don’t know the rules, it’s always your own people.
I fish salt water here on Long Island (NY). I strictly adhere to all size and numbers limits, so I never worry about being checked - in fact I would welcome MUCH more oversight to catch all those who cheat - which is as much (if not more) of a problem here in NY as it is in TX. I probably have never been checked because I'm one solitary older (age 71) individual (which I imagine makes me a low-yield target) but I wish I'd see more Dept. of Environmental Conservation officers out on the water!
The judges probably can’t justify the cost for jailing and feeding the inmates for such “minor crimes” in their eyes, though adamant testimony by the state fishery and the rangers themselves should be enough to mandate jail time of at least a month, a $10,000 fine and loss of license for five years or something like that!
They don't have time to check people fishing most of the time. Especially in the summer. To busy chasing drunk idiots. I have talk to them more than once . We definitely need more law enforcement on the water . To save people and our fisheries.
I met a guy once from an Asian country. He didn't believe in creel limits. It's unfortunate. I could see spearing carp or snakeheads. I know some anglers who don't like large mouth bass and leave them alone.
I commented to you last year about the illegals. I worked for three years with legal Mexicans and south Americans and while we got along well partly because I can speak a decent amount of spanish, I cannot tell you how flabbergasted they were when I showed them pictures of bass I caught and released. They come from a dog eat dog culture and cannot understand the concept of fishing in the name of sport or conservation at all. 😢
BIG BASS DREAMS has come around to the right side & 2025 PUT BASS BACK ON THE TABLE!! If you throw every bass back you hate Big Healthy Bass. BC you are killing the lake with little bass. Facts are facts backed by Big Bass Growing Biologists. Who also manages lake’s and pond’s. He’s retired and owned his own company that he sold and has his has a shocking boat and subs out to the southeast and has only trophy lakes and ponds he is managing now
I can say what is hurting bass fishing the most. Is people who throw everything back. Thinking every bass can grow big. That’s why fishing is gone to shit not FFS even though I don’t like it. It’s the every bass is going to get big people who have ruined it. That’s why it was better years ago everyone kept a limit every time they finished.
ZERO tolerance for this kind of crap. I will say if someone is going to get caught for this I am glad it is in Texas because Texas Wardens do not play around and they will absolutely lower the boom on these thieves. I promise you in Texas poaching and the destruction of Bass is taken very seriously here. I see TX game wardens often and they are great people and at least in East Texas they have a strong presence.
Nothing will happen to these people who do this! And YES, they WERE eating cats and snow geese… I try to be considerate of the laws for fishing and game in My state… just not enough game and wildlife officers …
How about instead of spending all that money on Resource Officers and equipment so they can ticket us for everything, they simply take all that money and re stock the fish populations?
That wouldn't work plus it takes many years to sufficiently "re-stock" any fishery. We aren't ticketed "for everything" and poaching and taking way more than a fair share of fish should be subject to a ticket or arrest. Otherwise things would really get out of control so nature definitely needs to be regulated and reasonable laws should be enforced. I take it you are not a pleasure or sports fisherman whatsoever?
@ No, I am a realist. That is how generation revenue works? And you are full of crap. Look into the walleye stocking program in TN. We have one of the best populations of walleye and most anglers are unaware. It is all because of stocking. Look at how the Chick has become a mini Guntersville, all because of stocking? Besides, all we have is time.
Hey Karen's get mad when I keep one now and again to eat. I bought a fishing license that allows me to keep and eat fish 😂 in other words. Nunya business
We have a lot of Issues here with people taking bass illegally. Of course they them selves are here !11egally. With Illinois being a safe haven they seem to feel safe crossing the river over here. Well our DNR does not screw around. We also have very strong laws against people of this status. Good luck amigos
You should see the ponds I fish on NJ. These fuckers bring five gallon buckets, seine nets, and keep any and everything they catch. DEP won’t do anything. They’re afraid to even approach them. Makes me nuts!
Careful what you wish for. Do you really want to get checked every time you go fishing ? Have you ever forgotten to buy a license or left it at home? I live in a tourist area and it gets annoying getting pulled over twice in one day or another example two times in three days guiding same client. To have a free society there will be those examples like you mentioned where people don’t follow the rules, however a police state is the only way it would rarely happen. I sincerely hope you think about what this video is advocating.
I'll tell you what , Colorado will fine you 1,000.00 bucks for fishing without a license and 5,000.00 for taking fish home that are under sized.....unless your an illegal immigrant.
What ethnicity were they? That's in Austin and diversity is their strength, and there's a cornucopia of anglers from all around the world there! If you fished all your life, it's hard not to notice that certain types of people do not care about conservation or getting a fishing license, I may have no issues with harvesting fish. Do you also bring up a good point about other wildlife. People from the third world do not respect forward here to the standards that we ought to follow, but like you said the problem is nobody does a goddamn thing and there's not enough game wardens around. Play no stretch of the imagination and my all for more government ever reach but at least something useful is fishing game preservation and I try to do my best to adhere to those conservation laws. Yeah sometimes we're a little bit draconian yeah sometimes they're a little bit draconian, but it allows all of us to have a hell of a lot of fun when out on the water. Another thing though that we as anglers can do is simple stewardship. If you see somebody obviously harvesting illegally, tell them to fuck off. I know that is on a case-by-case basis and you have to read the room, but not enough fisherman are willing to do what needs to be done to protect our waters. Anyways sorry about the rant, but I really enjoying the fact that you've been calling out stuff recently and the degradation of sport fishing. I watched a video of yours the other day talking how about video game and front facing sonar. If you're honestly frustrated, and really want to get back to the pure joy of fishing, go pick up a fly rod. I did a number of years ago, can I have not looked back. Not to say that I don't use conventional gear to Target specific species, but it really reignited fishing, plus you get the added hobby of tying your own flies, and there is nothing better then making a perfect cast, and catching a nice Bass on a fly you made yourself. Keep up the good work.
@derekking870 it's illegal, they are destroying fisheries doing this, then nobody will get any fish. The laws need improved and make them a great deterrence to this!
I keep reporting guys taking buckets of short striped bass. They go up a river near me to spawn and get stuck at a damn. These guys use seine nets, and long lines. NJ has a hotline and even though I’ve literally talked to them, several times I’ve the last year, nothings changed. I even asked a warden about it, and he said they probably are illegal immigrants who won’t give a real name, so they don’t bother.
Poachers of deer and fish should be and are prosecuted. The guys on Erie had their over 100K Ranger auctioned off plus big fines. Another Ohio deer poacher had big fines and they lost their license for multiple years. That being stated it still remains, like my dad said, that all people in business and life don't operate with the same ethics and morals. Yo say nothing is happening isn't true. And I don't care for FFS & see it as basically cheating. I prefer to keep the mystery and challenges in fishing. But to be such an alarmist saying it's going to destroy fishing is probably going a little overboard. Certainly, from a tournament watching standpoint it makes it boring fish catching exhibitions just watching a guy stare at a video screen. And I don't waste my time watching BASS tournament fishing anymore. But to say it's going to ruin fishing is ridiculous.
This is problematic across the board. I could post the solution to these types of problems…but, RUclips calls my solutions “Hate Speech” Ain’t that right RUclips? And there’s the start of the problem.
We need more enforcement and that comes from funding the fish and game department s and politicians who care about the environment. Look out everybody it’s only going to get worse
This is a terrible story, and these suspects need to be prosecuted to fullest extent of the law...yet Randy supports tournament fishing which kills millions of fish every year....rather hypocritical is it not? If we are going to protect our fisheries, then yes, beef up our fish and game law enforcement, AND ban tournament fishing.
It is not only illegal immigrants that are poaching. I would hazard to guess 99% of poaching is done by American citizens. The use of the term illegal immigrants was certainly used incorrectly in this scenario.
Im 70 years old and started fishing when I was young!.......Got checked this summer for the 1st time ever!
Been fishing CA for 50yrs, never been checked. Lived in FL for 6 months, checked 4×
Forward facing sonar has affected our fisheries, no matter what folks say. Poachers need prosecuted!
FFS is poaching.
How about going back to 'Flashers only', really!
Poachers do get Prosecuted . Problem is the penalties are nothing more than a slap on the wrist 🙄

We fisherman need to hand out a little backwoods justice if the law isn't going to.
😂😂😂
Ain’t that the same lake where they are finding a lot of bodies?
I don't really understand taking freshwater bass. Much more tasty species available. I haven't kept one in the last 40 years.
Same folks eat drum, carp and anything that moves.
Smallmouth & spotted bass are good eating out of cold water in winter. I won't eat a largemouth anytime tho.
gensis 9:3 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.
“ lead in fish, spearing fish, pro fisherman not having fishing license “… welcome 2025 u have a lot of work to do!
This is ridiculous!! There has to be harder accountability for these crimes, fishing, hunting...it doesn't matter!!
The more bass in my freezer and garden the better
There Eating the cats. there eating the Bass.
Lol
😂😂😂
😂😂☠️
I've never seen a lake in TX where the water was clear enough to spearfish?
i think they was going up a creek to spawn or something
Yep
BIG BASS DREAMS has come around to the right side & 2025 PUT BASS BACK ON THE TABLE!! If you throw every bass back you hate Big Healthy Bass. BC you are killing the lake with little bass. Facts are facts backed by Big Bass Growing Biologists. Who also manages lake’s and pond’s. He’s retired and owned his own company that he sold and has his has a shocking boat and subs out to the southeast and has only trophy lakes and ponds he is managing now
Yeah but these guys were killing big bass. This is where slot limits come into play.
What are they using the bass for? I thought they weren't tasty.
Exactly!
Everything you said is true!!!!!
Texas game wardens don’t play. I hope 🤞 the system punishes them appropriately.
Lot bigger problems in this country than a few fish.
It's not a few
No jail time because it happened in Austin. 😂
You think they are going to do anything serious to poachers other then fines😅 there is repeat felons on the streets everywhere😮
I'll tell you what , Colorado will fine you 1,000.00 bucks for fishing without a license and 5,000.00 for taking fish home that are under sized.....unless your an illegal immigrant.
its bad to do so but jail time ? WOW
Betty White 😂
Needs punishment!! 10yrs prison.
Prison for wanting to eat a fish?
Happens here in Ohio as well.
This is problematic across the board.
I could post the solution to these types of problems…but, RUclips calls my solutions “Hate Speech”
Ain’t that right RUclips?
And there’s the start of the problem.
If you smoke, drink, get tattoos and body piercings and you are hungry then I have absolutely no sympathy. Need to bring back the chain gangs!
Bass filets are almost as tasty as crappie
heres how you get more law inforcement , quit voting for politicions who dont want to support the enviroment
This is it.
FFS (Forward Facing Spears)
They take all the bird wildlife too they will eat anything 🙄
The goose population is high so they must not like eating them
The seven degrees of Randy Blaukat...he can tie FFS to any bass fishing video in seven moves.
Sounds like you got the live scope dope addiction. You probably wouldn’t have a clue without it.
And he is right about every bit of it.
I don't think so!@@arewethebadies
@RussFishes4fun I am 60 years old. I think I can catch bass, dude
Very sad.
Don't worry. Your local prosecutor will drop it down to maybe a fine. The problem is with the justice system
Did you say illegals? 🤔
Fishing illegally?
the cheaters in the walleye tourny lost the right too fish for life.
We need more enforcement and that comes from funding the fish and game department s and politicians who care about the environment. Look out everybody it’s only going to get worse
They're well funded here with a huge well staffed headquarters.....if only those millions were used in the field.
Bill Dance that is.
I don’t like poaching either but they are not going to jail for that .
