I'm always envious of you guys that get nice hardwoods lol. Where I live, all we have is Pine/Spruce and Tamarack 😂 great work, be safe, and have a great day!
@ohiowoodburner I'm originally from Michigan, but all I did for firewood there is Ash/Oak, really. I should have tried to experience more of it, but i was just there for beer money in those days 😂
There is a bolt lose on the JAPA you might wanna tighten. It is between the red and black color, upper right corner of the ''split'' sticker. You can see it loose at 12:31
@@ohiowoodburner would you consider trying an experiment by "Smoking" or "Heating" the green split hickory to 170 F degrees for an hour or so to kill the "Bugs" in a simple box (like a BBQ grill/smoker) with a small fire under it using the hickory offcuts and scraps? it could be a new OWB "Gore-May" product "Pre-Smoked Hickory" firewood/chips.
Joe the firewood processor makes cutting and splitting hickory look easy. Not one of my favorites cutting with the saw and splitter, but it sure is some good stuff. Take care and Merry Christmas.
Bit of flooding with the snow melt? Your next set of business cards should have 3 or 4 scratch N Sniff icons of your favorite woods 😂 well, maybe not that might get expensive. Great vid keep em comming. 🤠👍👍👍👍

Seems they come in the spring. My goal is to process and stack the hickory this winter and see if this has an effect on keeping them away. They literally found a lone hickory log in my main pile and just filled it with holes.
Hi Joe, Is there a moisture content below which took is considered seasoned? That Hickory looked like it had been cut a while ago. Also might be handy on a sales call to be able to measure what the customer currently has.
I just love Thursdays over here in NZ. 0530 hrs and open up the phone and first up a brand new OWB post.!! Good video Joe, always said I could watch the 405 and box wedge splitting for hours. It sure is clean compared to some others. Be nice to be introduced to the young stacker man. Having a great day already. Cheers from HB NZ
Why do you just call him your high school helper? Does he not have a name? Introduce us to him, like we've all come to know log hauler Jessie. You show everything about cutting and splitting but you never show anything about doing the stacking that part is just as important as the rest.
14:15 Wait a sec...Mixed hardwoods?? Aren't you selling the Hickory separate? Do you have mixed hardwood that you sell you always say that you separate your species? I am confused???🪵🤔
thank ypu for everything you do for teaching the high school students the value of honest labor.
Thanks for watching and supporting us!
A brief cameo of your high school helper…and a whiff of hickory all the way to NJ! Have a good day, Joe. 👍
Hickory smells are intoxicating Dave!
I must admit the 405 has the cleanest cutting and splitting boxcutter out there and does it very quickly
It is awesome to have and to watch!
Incredible processor. The log deck is amazing.
It is an awesome factory for sure buddy
Hickory is better than cologne that can appreciate it. Nice work 👍
It smells awesome!
Wow, Joe!
You were driving that mighty 405 like you stole it.
And for its part- the 405 didn't miss a beat.
haha. The 405 is awesome for sure!
I can see why you enjoy your work!!
The Japa is awesome!
Excellent camera work on this video

Indeed. It is awesome!
Great Video - Merry Christmas - I wish you and your family safe and joyful holidays!
Hi Joe - it’s Big Rodders in Ireland. The only hickory I come across on this side of the pond is in axe handles!
Ohio Wood Burner for the save ⚾ Nice turn around sale for the seasoned price 👍
You got that right Lyle!
Great job !!!!!

High school help may or may not be the next owner of Ohio Woodburner.
That is a good thought my friend.
Hickory!!!! "World's Greatest Smelling Wood!"
I think I agree!
Great looking hickey good camera work Great job joe

I’m 9985 miles from your place Joe , but I can smell that wood getting split !
haha. Hickory is the best Gus!

Yes...that is the main bolt for the perfect split knife. It is supposed to float but I prob could snug it up some. Good catch Mr Fryer! Thanks
Oooooh... I can smell it! Love processing hickory. 🤠👍
As do I! Having it sit around the yard thru the spring is where the problems begin!
@ohiowoodburner BUGS LOVE IT 😳

Thanks Cinder. This was filmed by my youngest daughter. She does a nice job as well.

Nice. Being able to get the same price for green is fortunate.
It is. I think that it is Hickory played a part in it
Never smelled Hickory before, so i can't enjoy the aroma with you.
The 405 is kicking butt as usual 😉👍
Dan it smells like the most awesome odor that you can imagine!
Good deal being able to sell that hickory green! That's my business model green firewood and lots of it.

Nice looking splits there, Joe! We don't get much for hickory, so i couldn't tell ya what you're smelling. 👍👍
Just think of heaven!
@ohiowoodburner just like cherry firewood then. Got it!
Nice video nice job. Bud
Thanks Ralph
Awesome work as always, I mean the machine and your high school student lol. Also thinking man you have not done a live stream in a long time.
It has been a long time. Maybe one day I will have one
Do you ground or save all the scrap piece falling through cleaner for saleable wood chip
That is a big miss for me. I put them in a pile and I hope the disappear LOL. So far the pile keeps getting bigger

How long does it take for your hickory to get the bugs.
Seems they come in the spring. My goal is to process and stack the hickory this winter and see if this has an effect on keeping them away. They literally found a lone hickory log in my main pile and just filled it with holes.
Ohh I wish I had smell-O-vision and your using the perfect split. What a great video. How did you runout of hickory ?
I had a bunch that was covered in powder. I sold it as fast as I could to get it out of the yard
Hi Joe, Is there a moisture content below which took is considered seasoned? That Hickory looked like it had been cut a while ago. Also might be handy on a sales call to be able to measure what the customer currently has.
The standard is =
You need a bigger motor
That saw dozent cut that small wood
I had the adjustment wrong. I remembered to tune it near the end of the vid where you can hear it cutting much better

Doesnt smell near as good as oak!
Barf!
14:15 Wait a sec...Mixed hardwoods?? Aren't you selling the Hickory separate? Do you have mixed hardwood that you sell you always say that you separate your species? I am confused???🪵🤔
I do. My point is with such a small qty I may just stack it with the other stuff. I separate cherry, oak, beech, and hickory.
