Great work Keith. Keep up the good work. I know she’ll forgive you. She’s got that great soul lol. It’s always nice to be thinking about improvements. I’m doing the same thing myself here I wanna keep my wood under wraps. It is always always a working progress and so are we that’s what I keep telling my wife lol
The weatherman is my best salesman, if he uses a four letter word on the news (snow or cold) my phone start ringing , trust me those people are not looking for green wood!
Good video Heath you know I just love that you’re always thinking about improvements. If we didn’t have that we would drive our wives crazy Anyway, keep up the good work. I know she’ll forgive you. She’s that type of soul. Can hardly wait to see the progress.
Everyone wants it ready to burn. They don't want to wait until it's seasoned. Just stack it up and let it season, it will sell quick. We've been having rain for a week now,but cold air is making it's return. I mean I'm only 6 miles from Pennsylvania. 4 hours from Western NY where you get over 20 ft of snow a year. Heath use the vinyl coated wire. That will hold, I use it to guy trees that I plant in the Spring, Summer and early Fall. Try it and see, it will work for what you're using it for.
Great video Heath. Reorganizing is good but it can be a real pain when the ground is muddy. I am dealing with that right now in my processing area right now. Rachel will probably not have a sense of humor about the mess.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors bailing will work fine. It's used for all kinds of farm fixes. That stainless is even tougher and you can get it in a few Guage sizes.
Selling green firewood is a challenge depending on you area and market. The logfather in Nova Scotia seem sto have it figured out he sells many full cords a year. And his explanations make sense.
Yup it’s a muddy sloppy mess here in Maryland now. I was gonna suggest you use old electric wire for the tote lids. That’s what I use. I should be able to pick up my all wood box wedge after new years. Can’t wait to try it out.
Reason I didn't sell fully seasoned wood was I didn't have the space to store it while it dried. Your yard will be ok once it's had a chance to dry out. Green wood here sells for 30-40% less than certified dry wood of the same species. So,got the room take the time todry it,sell for that much more. Cheers from HB NZ
Hey Heath, good video. Rachel is not going to like all that mud. You may want to pray for snow so it covers the ruts. It will clean up. I don’t think green wood ,would work up here in Minnesota either. I definitely agree with you on covers keeping leaves and branches from getting in the wood. What are you going to use for you gas container. I went out and bought the vevor model for diesel fuel. I thought about getting one for gas but they aren’t grounded. Great idea using the bladder for a shelter for your fuel tank. You guys have a Merry Christmas. Later
You keep selling the premium wood I'll keep selling the cheap green stuff 😜. I'm also getting ready to put up a big pile of camp wood and hardwood to season for next year. Hoping the seasoned wood will help my typical late fall slump in sales
I worked at a lumber yard in the returns department a while. While caretaking for Dad. I got me some lumber tarps, like go on the rail cars! Best tarp, wish I got more! Free cuz I worked there! You could try and go ask? Or try and look find old pontoon lift covers! Who the heck was that, oh the camera person! Yeah that's like landscaping, it's like sculpture really, you make a total mess half way through. Have a Goodin' Heath and camera person! HOpe the boss isn't pidded!
These last few videos have been pretty good, but one thing has been noticeably absent and it concerns me greatly: The Wood Bunny! 🐇 I mean, that guy Herb (?) is OK and all, but...... 😂
Great, Rachel wears hers almost every time we work in the woodyard. I still love my steel toe cowboy boots. I wear my brunt mock toe boots over the Hisea because they have the safety toe. For the $$ the Hisea are tough to beat.
There’s a secret to selling green firewood. Just call it seasoned. It also works for rotted wood. Joes Premium Firewood does it all the time, and his business is thriving. 😏
Heath, just remember what they say Rome wasn’t built in a day at least you have some kind of idea about what it will be like 👍 when it is all said and done ✅ 😮😊❤
I had customers who came to get wood i would tell them it might be green buy at own dicresion and they would buy it and it would burn told them just split during the week and would still buy it cause bought like seven pickup loads during the season
Perfectly honest you wanted too much for green wood that has to sit almost 2 years. 100 bucks a face cord and you'll probably move it. Getting it cheap is why folks like to buy green
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors but look at it this way 150 sitting on it for 2 years. 100 for green and it's out the door when you split it making you money automatically. Split and sell green on your slow months and or to military and first responder vets and old folks.

I’ve had exactly the same experience trying to sell green wood… zero takers.
Was that your daughter making funny faces on the camera? Nice she came home for Christmas!! Nice video. Tell Rachel that Ben made the mess!!!😂
Yes it was. She’s a goofball for sure. Nice to have her home for the holidays!
The weatherman is my best salesman, if he uses a four letter word on the news (snow or cold) my phone start ringing , trust me those people are not looking for green wood!
So true!
They are broke and only buy a must have items 😢😢😢
No one is going to tie up any money and what they don’t have 😢
I hope you have the sofa made up for when the wife gets home 😂 I'm sure your reorganizing will be worth it in the end 👍
Prob best you start looking on market place for a sawmill . Karen says your gona need it when Rachel gets home to build your self a place to sleep . 😂
Excellent video, Have a lovely Xmas with your family.

Heath looking at that muddy mess in Rachel’s yard I think your ass is grass and Rachel’s the zero turn 😂 have a merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Bob you may be right lol. I’ll try to sell it as an opportunity to create some content this spring fixing the yard lol.

Bailing wire at any farm store. Or stainless electric fence wire like Chris on in the woodyard uses.
I think that may be a little thinner but may work.

That stainless is even tougher and you can get it in a few Guage sizes.
I use rebar tie wire, you can get it at Lowes or TSC.
Thanks! I’ll definitely be picking up some more.

have you considered stacking the IBC totes?
I have in the past but with my old tractor it was tough. May have to revisit it with the new more maneuverable tractor.

Just go get a small roll of electric fence wire!! I use that for everything!! Or wire coat hangers!!
That looks like rebar tie wire it can be bought on amazon or some well stocked hardware stores I use it for many things it comes in rolls
Thanks! It’s so handy.
your local tractor supply will have that wire
I’m taking the rest of the year off after this week. Let’s cut some frickin’ trees!

Are you allowed to burn trash/tree slash on your property? Easy way to keep wood yard clean.
Look in the masonry section of your home improvement store. They sell the spool of wire
Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out. That stuff is so handy!
Also fence wire might work.
I'm surprised, as if I had a wood burner I'd be interested in getting it green!
Yeah I think my prices are just too high. I’ll get my $$ when it’s seasoned though so no need to short myself.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors True. It was worth a shot!

Electric fence wire will hold it down. Comes in a roll with several hundred feet. Very affordable.
Using a pallet on the floor will maybe last 2 seasons put real base and will last 15-20 years and keep your ankles
Hello what about zip ties to hold the lids. Just a thought. Take care
How did those Hisea boots y’all showed us awhile back hold up?

@ good point. Only way I’d consider it is if I had it ordered so I could split and deliver and not tie up my trailer.
