    I got to meet Mrs. McColley many years ago, she retired here in Atlanta where some of her kids lived. She and her husband and their famous "Bamboo Nursery" in Orlando gave us so many plants. She developed McColley's Finale and her husband developed the Price of Orange many years earlier. They also were responsible for Florida and Florida Ghost and several other popular plants we have today. It's amazing to think that a lot of these trending plants were actually developed in the 40s and 50s. I love my McColley's Finale, it's actually from a completely different line that the PoO were hybridized from and I do find tend to be more robust and pest resistant.

    The Finale has so much character. Just got one today, each leaf is a different color. I feel like getting another one, lol

    I've had what I thought was a Prince of Orange for 2 years now and I finally realize why his leaves look so monstrously large in comparison to other PofO I see online lol I was bamboozled and ended up with a McColley's Finale! Thank you for the clarifications. I will say that McColley's leaves were similar in shape to the PofO when I first had it, his lobes started showing about 8 months ago when the leave really grew in size.

    Thanks for this video. I brought home what was labeled as a prince of orange🍊 from my local nursery back in November but based on its wider/slightly darker leaves, I am now thinking it is a McColley's Finale. Either way I love love love it!

    I just bought a "Philodendron hybrid" at Fleet Farm, because it looked different from my Imperial Majesty, Congo Rojo, & a pure green one. I thought it might be Prince of Orange, except that the leaves are the widest I've ever seen on a bush type philodendron. This video of yours helped me distinguish that I have McColley's Finale. Thank you!

    I have a plant that I purchased from a greenhouse as Philodendron prince of orange but it never looked like other prince of orange plants that I see online or in stores. It is definitely not a McColleys finale. I have recently learned that is a Philodendron autumn. Leaves come in a burnt orange to red and then fades to green. The leaves are also more elongated than both the Prince of orange or McColleys finale. I think the autumn might be a variety of the Prince of orange but the color is completely different.

    I actually just got a prince of orange phildrendon plant and I’m confused where are they supposed to be to give them light I know inside but like next to a window inches away or in a kitchen under or next to a kitchen light ?

    In the wrong light conditions they will vine out and can attach to a pole with their aerial roots

    I found a tiny little philodendron "orange hybrid" at a plant shop this spring - looks like the seller had no idea what exactly they were selling... but at least they didn't mislabel it😅. Now I'm really curious what my monster baby will grow into... 🙃

    Hello Tyler! Is the plant philodendron red sun the same as philodendron mccaulley's finale? Thank you!

    • @TylerMossop
      @TylerMossop  2 года назад +1

      Great question! And to be completely transparent I’m not sure. I haven’t seen a ‘red sun’ in person but will keep my eye out next time I’m at the nursery! Care tips should be very similar if not the same 🪴❤️
