I saw fawnina using this printer in some of her instagram videos but honestly this video sold me, and at that price how could I say no?! I'm so excited to start printing, it's gonna be so handy for my Aloy cosplay!
Awesome! I can't wait to see the finished piece! I love Kylo Ren and lightsabers and Star Wars and 3D printing, so this video checks all the boxes! Thanks Zonbi!
Once there's a knot in the filament like that you will need to unravel the spool until you get to it, undo it, and then re-wind the spool. Its' a massive pain but once the knot is in there it just keeps pushing it down the filament until it binds. The best way to stop them is to make sure the loose end is never actually loose. Just makes sure its either in the printer, in your hand or through the little holes in the spool.
I've been 3d printing for about a year, and I just upgraded from an Anet to Prusa mk3. it's very cool to see more user friendly printers on the market. Good luck! Though, see if Dagoma has Slic3r support. Slic3r produces much finer details and better supports than Cura can do.
Very interesting! I always thought the quality of the print would be a lot lower with a Neva. Can you give me a rough estimation of how much filament you needed for this print? Or in other words, how much the filament used for this print cost.
Nice piece of tech. I hope it will serve you for a long time and enjoy working with it. I am curently working on a kylo ren helmet and i hope i will be able to make the lightsaber as well.
Spooky, other than some xmas decorations and bag clips.. kylo's saber was my 1st proper 3d print as well. Obviously found a different file to yours but it turned out quite nicely. It's all glued together now, just need to paint.
When i buy more parts to build my second printer from scratch (first one is kit bought), one of the prints i'll definitely make with leftover GT2 belt will be the "Mini Strap Wrench" by Biocode on Thingiverse. I already have a store bought belt wrench and i use it all the time in the kitchen and when building stuff because i really don't have much arm and hand strength and don't want to call the roommate every time i need to open a jar, so i figure having a bunch of them everywhere wouldn't hurt.
actually, she's really impressed by yours and her birthday is 2 days after valentines day...so id just have to print her some Eeveeloutions or something and she'd be all good.
You definitely need to tinker a bit with the settings so that you can achieve an even better looking result :) There are plenty of calibrations files available on thingiverse that will allow you to achieve the best result possible. Having the best result out of the printer will make the post processing way easier :)
Great Vid as always Grace. Will hopefully be looking at getting a 3D printer at some point this year as they are becoming cheaper and..............are those heads wearing sunglasses on your shirt?
You are welcome and lol! Now you say it I can see it, cool shirt though. Damn now I want some shrooms for dinner (of the normal kind not the trippy kind that is).
Quick question regarding tech toys and cosplay. Now you have your hands on a 3D printer, have you thought about other items like a laser cutter for fiddly bits. I was in awe at the one Svetlana used over at Kamuii for the Gauss rifle, great for all the fiddly bits or do you prefer the more hands on approach?
You're not the only person who has said this. It takes me right to the English website but I'm checking with Dagoma to see if there's a solution for this. I'll let you know when I have more information. Sorry for the inconvenience!
ZonZonZonbi I would imagine it's because I'm in Europe and it's redirecting me to that one cause it's in euro and probably ships from a different warehouse! No need to apologise wasn't your fault! :)
3d printers are devil magic. The first thing I printed was a captain Phasma helmet. It didn't come out the best lmao. But my next prop is the Master Sword and it's MUCH better, although, I also have printed my friend's bday gift is an Amon mask (from Legend of Korra). Hours of sanding later, it's glass smooth :D.
Thingiverse.com has a ton of incredible printable objects. I printed a Batman and Green Lantern ring with my CR-10. Later when I get back home I want to look in to a Deathstroke mask to do. Whatever you decide to print next just have fun with it.
Zonbi, you propably already know this but using a heatgun you might be able to melt the outside of the print, smooting the lines ^-^ Hope this helps :3
Why isnt it a great idea? A lot of people are doing it and recomend it :3 It becomes more shiny, smooth and it will "remove" the small imperfections ^-^
Watch the video of Bill Doran from Punished Props titled "Don't Leave 3D Printed Props in a Hot Car". Your prop can be ruined easily and there will no way to bend it back to shape, specially if it has a modern design with straight lines. You would have to do a lot of testing and even then only slightly treat your props with the heat gun.
I took a 3d printing class a couple of years ago and I wasn't into cosplay then, so me (the idiot that I am) DIDN'T PRINT A PROP!!! I WASTED A GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!!
shame the website is not as user friendly as the printer if you live in the UK like me you get treated to a lovely forced french version of the website with the printer available at 499 euro not including postage which is £439 or $620 to compare the price for american shoppers
It's such a great little machine! You explained everything incredibly well, and I cannot wait to see what you make with it!
It really is! And thank yo so much! :^D

I am hoping to start either a 13th doctor or Clara Oswald cosplay, you are a great inspiration! And I can't wait to get started!
Thank you so much! And I can't wait to see your Dr. Who cosplay!
Have you found anyplace other than Ilum to get kyber crystals? You'll need them to complete this project.
Me and my step-dad are going to get this and I'm so excited!
Thanks for the link to your 3d printer. Chances are Im gonna be getting it, looks easy!
Yay!!! You'll love it!
I see you didn't remove the orange bracket on the side.

Well thank ya for the shout out Zzzonbi!
my question is if dagoma has STLs for a spool holder WHY DOESNT IT SHIP WITH A FLIPPIN SPOOL HOLDER?!
Finally Star Wars!!!!!!!!! Yes!
$299...now...can i convince the mrs.???
OOOO!! Valentines day/late/early birthday gift maybe?!
actually, she's really impressed by yours and her birthday is 2 days after valentines day...so id just have to print her some Eeveeloutions or something and she'd be all good.
They’re sold out?! 😢
Nope! There are plenty left.
A 3d printer made by a 3d printer...the future is now!

Between your review and Odin's review I just may look into one.
Great Vid as always Grace. Will hopefully be looking at getting a 3D printer at some point this year as they are becoming cheaper and..............are those heads wearing sunglasses on your shirt?
Thank you! And those are mushrooms lol!

Lol a quality laser cutter is costs thousands of dollars
Ah so Christmas pressie wish list then :)
When I go onto the dagoma site it keeps redirecting me to the french site! :/
You're not the only person who has said this. It takes me right to the English website but I'm checking with Dagoma to see if there's a solution for this. I'll let you know when I have more information. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Rhys Kenny I made contact with Ben! He says they’re looking into a solution for that now and he will let me know if they’re able to fix it. 👍🏻
ZonZonZonbi awesome thanks! :)
Are you planning on making a 'Kilo Gwen' costume to go with this lightsaber?
Maybe! :^D

Awesome!!
This is awesome 🙌
Thank you Samuel!
Confused, you say it's your first 3d printer sitting right next to another?
That's my boyfriend's Prusa. The NEVA is my first printer.
Thingiverse.com has a ton of incredible printable objects. I printed a Batman and Green Lantern ring with my CR-10. Later when I get back home I want to look in to a Deathstroke mask to do. Whatever you decide to print next just have fun with it.
That sounds so cool! And thank you!
T-the kitty talked ! 😱😂
Good job there.
Thank you!
I can’t get over the color of your eyes. It’s like crystal blue. At least that’s what I see
Zonbi, you propably already know this but using a heatgun you might be able to melt the outside of the print, smooting the lines ^-^ Hope this helps :3
Heatgun on PLA ? Not great idea at all !
The best way to get rid of the lines on PLA is sanding and fill with bondo and more sanding
Why isnt it a great idea? A lot of people are doing it and recomend it :3 It becomes more shiny, smooth and it will "remove" the small imperfections ^-^
TKN Paintings because pla is very sensible to heat, it become too soft, warp and deform!

What if you just breeze over it for a few seconds?
HELLO!!!! Ugh I really wish I could 3D print!
I took a 3d printing class a couple of years ago and I wasn't into cosplay then, so me (the idiot that I am) DIDN'T PRINT A PROP!!! I WASTED A GREAT OPPORTUNITY!!!
AW DANG! Well luckily printers are getting more and more accessible. YOU WILL GET ANOTHER CHANCE!
Coooooool
Thank you!
