Those upward nails... No jumping from tall buildings in a single bound please... Suggestion: Instead of putting some nails upward the "shoe base"... you may sew it using a long wire (doubled over and twisted that would act as a BIG needle) and some strong threads... Then, you may attach that to the underside of the boots. You may also want to put some rubber foam to fill in the gap (seen on 2:02) so the weight would be distributed more equally to the new shoe base (not just on the front and back of the rain boots)
Hi there, I really enjoyed the entire T60 build. I was wondering if you could tell me how many cans of plasti dip you used for all of that armor.Thanks.
Thanks so much for this!! i am working on a power armor suit right now actually and i was wondering on how i was going to make the shoes, question answered! once again you are amazing!
Was popping in to see if there was a different method from how I did the boys for my Ork Warboss, and I see you did it exactly the same way I did. On the bright side, I feel validated for what I did on mine. 😂
This is amazing :D I'm building he exact same armour right now, so please document all your work because it is helping me so much, and looks incredible. I'm following it as a tutorial :D
Hey , great work! I am an artist who has been making props for people for forever and I'm finally getting into cosplaying , kinda one of those ,"why the hell am I not doing this my self?! " moments and although I have a good bag of tricks of my own for building your videos are awesome and insightful! ty for the content and the help .Subbed and liked!
ZONBI, I LOVE YOUR HAIRRRRR. And thank you so much for the tips and tutorials you have on your channel! I love watching your videos. They have definitely helped me make progress on some costumes I'm working on! Thanks!
this is the best tutorial for big boots! i'm making zarya boots and the durability is amazing. I rather spend a little more on boots instead flip flops. like she said get a boot with a heel so you can screw in screws . for me i screwed in three screws at the of the heel (not in front cause i want to jump) and four in front BUT on the side of the boot!
it looks like the shape of the front of the boot isn't the same as the shape of the original rain boot. how did you manage to make a rounder part for the front. or is it the same shape with more layers?
How would you attach something thin like water shoes to say a single 10-12mm rectangle of EVA foam? I feel like only contact cement might not be enough, and screws might hurt.
+ZonZonZonbi probably. You and Adam should come out and see my shop. I bet you could find a bunch of tools that would be useful for your projects. I was thinking you may have used a jigsaw.
Been trying to figure out how I would make my own power armor. My approach is leaning towards something that will likely cost a lot by using fiberglass to make the skeleton under cage, then hang plates like it looks from the game. I haven't started since I was considering making to someone else size so they can wear it. someone younger and more fit. :) Your idea looks great so far.
this was awesome girl! making shin/ calf armor is my biggest challenge so far, will you be showing us how you made those pieces too? ^__^ so excited to see you working on things!
would you be able to use these for general wear instead of cosplay? i’ve wanted to get platforms for general wear for a long time, but dont have the money.
Is this the power armor from your cover photo or your do have more? Do you have the patterns for the power armor or you make the pieces one at a time? Thanks for the tips
Thank you so much for this! I haven't worked that much with foam before but i really want to make a Mei costume. This really helped me with figuring out how to make her boots :)
+ZonZonZonbi thanks for replying to my comment but if you don't mind I have another question. You use plastidip for your coatings but when I searched them they said it was easy to peel off. Have you had any trouble with this and if so how did you avoid it?
Lookin' really great so far, Grace! Are you getting this done for a specific con, or are you just taking your time and getting it finished for whenever it happens to get finished?
I have a question. I want to make soles out of foam like you did. But I´m so scared that they will get destroyed and worn out when I go outside. I heard you used plastidip, but my friend has used it and she said that her armour cracked when it was cold outside. So I need some help :/ Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, Zombie! First of all, you are the cutest cosplay builder I have ever seen. Now to my question: When you use Plastic-Dip do you need to use a ventilator or be outside? I am mainly asking because winter is coming and I am not lucky enough to have a garage like you. :) Thanks in advance!
This is absolutely gorgeous!! One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life! Those boots looks pretty good too!
Those upward nails... No jumping from tall buildings in a single bound please...

This is saving my Halloween costume 😊
I'm going as a really buff Decepticon and the boots are really difficult but you explain things really well!
Great tutorial! Could you do one on bulkier power armor shins? I've gotten the boot part done, but really struggling with the shins covers. Thanks!
hey great video here um few questions: what is that blue material over the boots from 2:58? cosplay noobie here
can you do some star wars foam videos?
Hi there, I really enjoyed the entire T60 build. I was wondering if you could tell me how many cans of plasti dip you used for all of that armor.Thanks.
I'm so thankful you made this video. I am having so much trouble making boots.
Thanks so much for this!! i am working on a power armor suit right now actually
and i was wondering on how i was going to make the shoes, question answered! once again you are amazing!
This will help me in making awesome boots! Thank you!
Fantastic . This is by far the simplest tutorial for large boots that I've seen . Great Job . Keep it up .
I think Dollar Store Flip Flops might be a less labor intensive way to make shoe lifts/boot lift soles.....$3 for 3 pair....can't beat it....
Was popping in to see if there was a different method from how I did the boys for my Ork Warboss, and I see you did it exactly the same way I did. On the bright side, I feel validated for what I did on mine. 😂
the blue color looks awesome
what material do you use to cover the toes? (the blue one) can anybody help?
Can you make a video showing how you cut the foam for the toe portion of the boot? Awesome job by the way.
Thank you so much for the tutorial and ideas!!!
This is amazing :D I'm building he exact same armour right now, so please document all your work because it is helping me so much, and looks incredible. I'm following it as a tutorial :D

This looks awesome! How did you keep your shin guards on your legs?
those look really amazing
ZONBI, I LOVE YOUR HAIRRRRR. And thank you so much for the tips and tutorials you have on your channel! I love watching your videos. They have definitely helped me make progress on some costumes I'm working on! Thanks!
Thank you!!
Could I use like a thick yoga mat or something instead of EVA foam?

Got a question, did you put any rubber at the bottom of the boots to get some grip, if not what would you recommend cheers
How did you make the details?
Right? I hate it when they don't even say what materials did they used besides "rain boots and contact cement". 🤦
What did you use to cover the boots?
where did you get your vault suit pants? I need to make my 12yr old daughter a raider armor set.
I got the pants from the bethesda store!
i was gonna ask the same question?
How is the mobility in those? can you run in them? i need to make some big Orc boots for LARP
What con do you plan on wearing this to?
was it a mini cooper i saw :O
Could I use the same method if I wanted to attach them to a bodysuit
LOVE you're cosplay videos! You do AMAZING work!
I'm so happy I found your tutorials!! Really helpful!
what material did you use to make the round part at the front? the blue material?

+Robert Lang hey me too XD
This should totally work!
thanks mate!
très sympa belle vidéo bravo
do you think you could make a step to step tutorial on how to make each piece for the boots
How would you attach something thin like water shoes to say a single 10-12mm rectangle of EVA foam? I feel like only contact cement might not be enough, and screws might hurt.
How cool is this? Now I just have to find some size 14's to fit me! You're very talented and I'm lucky to know you and Gilby!
+Pat Pattillo Aw! Thank you so much! You make awesome stuff too! Also it sounds like your feet are almost as big as Adam's!
+ZonZonZonbi probably. You and Adam should come out and see my shop. I bet you could find a bunch of tools that would be useful for your projects. I was thinking you may have used a jigsaw.

What are you using to cut the soles?
+Pat Pattillo Utility knife!
Mega pretty and SmART!! You are a dream come true!! Nice work!!
i miss these types of videos from u :'3
How much did it cost to build the boots compared to the whole costume?
Do you put anything on the bottom of the boot so you don’t slip or is it fine without anything?
Oh my gosh!!! They look so amazing!
this was great! thanks for this - very helpful
hello im trying to make a real power armor with real metal does the same technique works with aluminum platings?
Hello there Zonbi
How are you?
Do you have any videos of your power armor helmet and other parts? Thanks
Wouldn't the foam wear and tear eventually under the boot?
this was awesome girl! making shin/ calf armor is my biggest challenge so far, will you be showing us how you made those pieces too? ^__^ so excited to see you working on things!
+Danielle DaVerona (Dark Red Heart) I should do a seperate video on shins because barely any videos like that exist!
would you be able to use these for general wear instead of cosplay? i’ve wanted to get platforms for general wear for a long time, but dont have the money.
Is this the power armor from your cover photo or your do have more? Do you have the patterns for the power armor or you make the pieces one at a time? Thanks for the tips
how did you make the shin peices
What type of foam is the blue foam? it doesnt look like camp mat
Thank you so much for this! I haven't worked that much with foam before but i really want to make a Mei costume. This really helped me with figuring out how to make her boots :)
I'm glad this helped you! I love Mei's boots so much I hope you have fun making them!
Just found your channel and really love your energy and content!

I'm trying to make a pair of large Megaman boots for a Protoman cosplay got any tips?
You're so great and easy to understand. Thank you for these videos
What adhesive do you use when sticking foam to fabric?
+James Regan Shoe goo!
+ZonZonZonbi thanks for replying to my comment but if you don't mind I have another question. You use plastidip for your coatings but when I searched them they said it was easy to peel off. Have you had any trouble with this and if so how did you avoid it?
James Regan it only peels off if there is an edge for it to start, if you completely coat it it should bond pretty well
Lookin' really great so far, Grace! Are you getting this done for a specific con, or are you just taking your time and getting it finished for whenever it happens to get finished?
+Kevin Bley Thank you! I was thinking Maybe pax east but I'm not going to be devastated if I cant get it done by then
I think I just found real life Winry Rockbell. :P
@zonzonzonbi do you think this tutorial couls apli for mei boots from overwatch
How did you do the front of boot? Did you just wrap and heat the foam around the boot?
+Krisitian Hernandez Thats exactly it. I cut darts to get rid of the extra material and glued it all down to the boot.
How'd you glue it down? I always find it extremely hard to glue it down to a shoe, especially rubber shoes like that!!
OMG this is so helpfull! Thankyou for the great tips!
Wooooow thanks!! i was stuck in this exact part of my cosplay!!!! ^ ^
You sell these boots?
Awesome !!!! Thanks for the help
your channel is awesome, keep up the good work!
This will come in handy for my Doom Praetor Suit thanks for the tutorial :)
You're just using EVA foam to decorate the boot, correct?
I know this vid is old, but it is exactly what I needed to see. I'm building my fallout armor as well. boots up! thank you fellow vault dweller.
nice work. very similar to the way WETA does it. Subbed
question... what if they don't make them in my size?
love the hair!
This helped me a lot!
transitioning from making 8" suits that usually require stilts, to something of a more human size, yet still wanting lift; this was greatly helpful
Great video
When I saw T-68 I asked
Zonbi and fallout?
Impossible!
Two good things together
Can you do a suit with metal?
Thanks!!
Would you ever sell your armor?
could ya would ya ain't ya gonna make a tutorial on making quick man's helmet from mega man
i might have to watch the video again i didint hear a word you said i was amazed by your cuteness 😅😂😅😂
This helped out a lot! I’m gonna make some feet myself for my Pacific Rim cosplay, they’ll be a lot easier to make having watched this!
this video was helpful.
Whelp, this makes making my Mei boots a million times easier!
Very cool but disappointed that you did not fill in gaps between foam under the shoe
THANK YOU!!!!!!! I'm doing a human Shadow The Hedgehog cosplay and I need the boots to look like his,so thank you!
Hi, Zombie! First of all, you are the cutest cosplay builder I have ever seen. Now to my question: When you use Plastic-Dip do you need to use a ventilator or be outside? I am mainly asking because winter is coming and I am not lucky enough to have a garage like you. :) Thanks in advance!
Thank you! It's best to be in a ventilated area like a balcony. I wouldn't suggest using this stuff inside.
Ok, thanks so much! :)
do you make werewolf leg..?¿
The foot and shin parts are separate pieces! GENIUS!
brilliant
you are so amazing.
pure awesomeness
