    I usually put the whole project in the forge to heat up the rivet.

    Nice work buddy.
    May I suggest use blue steel ( if you can find it)
    So the tips on the end are harder.
    It will improve on your design.
    And you’ll be able to scribe.

      What is blue steel? I haven't heard of that term sounds like something I need to look for.

      @@solidsteelironworks is actually British rail still.
      From the 1800 .
      Japanese have some of it .
      And there is super blue.
      Is too brittle.
      You may use leaf spring.
      Is strong, and use white steel behind as a softener.
