This is a huge faith move but I’m going to do it.
I’m a gay Christian man. The beginning of this year, I had enough of fighting what I’ve known to be true about my sexual orientation. Someone close to me found love and out of being tired of trying to make myself desire to be with a female I decided to give my authentic self one more try. Why did I do that?
I found a guy, not just any guy though, I found a guy that I was totally aligned with. The internal confirmation was there. Then all of a sudden I started getting numerous external confirmations that I was to continue to focus on this person. All the while I was at peace, I never felt that I was disobeying God, in fact I have never felt freer, joyful, full of faith and at peace! My relationship with God has exponentially increased since meeting this person. It felt too good to be true.
About a month ago, I thought that the relationship was done and that I needed to move on. I cried for a whole day. But then I sought God. I spent hours talking to God asking for an explanation. What was the purpose of this? On the second day of seeking Him, he answered me and told me that he is the one. And he didn’t just tell me once, he told me multiple times since.
Ed’s testimony about God speaking to him about his sexual orientation was exactly what I needed to hear. I have been questioning if a “heteronormative”- God that has been preached to me had a guy out there for a gay guy like me…It’s beginning to sink in the He in fact does!

I've grown up bilingual, and I also learned Japanese and done hundreds of translations from Japanese to English, so I appreciate exactly what Ed is saying.
incidentally, I've translated "tsumi" many times:
    crime, crimes - 7 times
    wrong, wrongs, wrongdoing - 5
    sin, sins - 10
    guilt - 1
"what I did" - 1 (makes sense in context)
innocent (for the phrase "without tsumi")
while "sin" is my most common rendering, bear in mind that i'm translating lyrics, not ordinary speech, plus a couple of instances of "sin" should have been "wrongs" or "wrongdoing".

“Read 1,000 pages?? The problem is they read the word ‘homosexual’ in the Bible and in their mind that’s enough. When I’ve shared some of the cultural, historical and linguistic issues, they just respond with…the Bible clearly says ‘homosexuality is a sin’. They don’t feel the need to investigate more. Ugh!!!
