Too bad most people don't recognize the value of loyalty anymore.
One of the creators (Jon or John) said discussing and planning scripts the writers often come up with phrases, or passages, simply because they want James to say them. They just want to hear him with that marvelous voice, and speaking cadence give the gift of Raymond saying those words.
They have a sound no other could possibly give them.
I feel like that quite often. It can be mundane, or common words. Nothing extraordinary but I just want to listen to him speak.
That's true ,his character is probably the greatest i've ever seen in a tv show and it fits him so much sometimes when i look to his interviews it seems like james spader is raymond reddington without trying ,the writers also done a great job keeping his character this legendary from the start till this day

It sounds like whoever he said this to may have survived. Whenever he gets on a roll such as this (excellent diversion tactic, btw), it's only a matter of time when the individual usually gets whacked. Can't recall if anyone ever heard the conclusion of his stories, and lived to tell it.
Nope, the person he was speaking to was shot moments after this was done. The loyalty story was being told to someone that had betrayed him. Also one of the episodes with Paul Reubens, RIP
