      His calmness is what makes him so menacing. You can sense that he could kill you without a second thought. And it wouldn't be out of anger or hatred or fear, just removing something in his way.

      Arrogance. The belief one is immune from harm, or smarter than Red.
      If Red doesn't know what you are doing, it only means he hasn't found out. And he finds out EVERYTHING. It's just a matter of the offender starting out in the lead and Red always catching up to them.

  • @Benny_Blue
    @Benny_Blue Год назад +14

    My interpretation of what Red's saying: He tells that whole story about training to not mind committing unspeakable acts by not minding the pain of a flame. He then does it himself, flinches, and says "I mind." The listener (I agree with another comment that he's made this speech before, and that Dembe's familiar with it) is supposed to think Red minds doing the unspeakable acts. But they should know him well enough to know that isn't true. Red minds the _flame._ He can't hold his hand in it and not mind. The _listener_ is the flame, and it is _their_ unspeakable acts he minds.

    As the Count of Monte Cristo said, "A few moments of inconvenience is hardly justice for all the pain they caused. " (Paraphrase) All the trouble these people cause and their punishment is a few moments of pain? Seems a little off-balance for a man like Reddington.

      i feel if red was true to his character, other characters wouldnt last long and there would be no regulars left on the show lol. so much of what he chooses not to do is off balance. just getting rid of them is the least we can hope for. another thing to consider is that he must remain likable, have mass appeal. like in the dexter books dexter tortured the bad guys, but in the tv series they left that part of him out. because most dont want to see that or shouldnt be allowed to see it because we are supposed to live in a civilized society.

    but the best reason i can give to prove that he wasnt the real raymond reddington that liz shot in her childhood is that the real raymond reddington also had another wife and daughter which was showed in the season when berlin captured the old wife and since if he was reddington and wanted to find his daughter he could have but he didnt because he didnt needed to he wasnt that much connected to them but it was actually KATARINA ROSTAVA but she still cared for them and hence did her best to protect the real reddingtons wife idk bcos she was sorry for him and her or something. like reddingtons wife said she would never tell him where the daughter was and he was like okay no problem like KATARINA wanted them safe but like it wasnt her topmost priority if u know what im saying.

    Initially, I wasn't sure whether to put Red on the psychopath category or on the sociopath category...I'm kinda' rooting for the latter, since he has a conscience - sometimes...

    Desde la muerte de Liz Keen y a pesar de la imponente y sensacional actuación de James Spader,"The Blacklist" es una mesa de 4 patas a la cual le han cortado 2.Ya no es igual.

    I watched the first 2 seasons and stopped midway, for me was kind of boring but these clips or Reddington owning people make me wanna rethink and perhaps continue watching it=)

      The episodes with Keen's husband had me questioning if I should continue watching. I managed to get through them. One thing I have noticed in this recent season (#8) is that terrible habit of putting annoying music and vocals over dialogue. These usually happened in the final 5 minutes of an episode. I had to mute my tv and ensure the cc was turned on. I haven't decided if I will watch season 9 when it comes to netflix.
      Oh, one more thing (yeah, old-time Columbo fan): you will come up to the COVID episode where it's a mix of cartoons and real people. It would have been better for all if they just waited til it was good to work in real life.

    If the guy said kill him, Raymond would have spared his life.

    I agree with his decision to kill the man.
    but if I was red, I'd make an example out of him, to make sure that nobody betrays red, without considering serious consequences.
    but that's me, I'm not sure if such actions fit his character.

    Putnum is looking nervous because he betrayed Raymond as well.
