I think most of the Markoth hate comes from people struggling vs his ascended/radiant form. Attuned Markoth is a perfectly reasonable fight and is honestly kinda cool.

I think if he only had a shield in his second phase and the swords didn't adjust people wouldn't dislike him as much
@@raymond4592 Nah, his attacks are fine. It really is the removal of the floor and the tiny tiny platforms that makes this fight miserable. Making the platforms bigger would make the fight less awful.
@@webbowser8834 I think the biggest issue with this fight is how random everything is. His swords are random, his movement is random and his Shield moves weirdly. I have thought about how to fix this but if you get rid of all the RNG he is literally no eyes. I have come to the conclusion that markoth is bullshit no eyes
@@raymond4592 The attacks are fine, the problem is the floor, or lack there of, that just complicates it to infuriating levels
Like, usually you're like this when fighting markoth
Dodge his lances, find an opening in his shield, hit, repeat
but in radiant mode it goes more like this:
Parkour to dodge his lances, parkour to dodge his shield, calculate if you can get to his random position without dying, calculate if you can get to a safe position without dying, see if his shield is in the right position to not headbut into it parkour to get to him, parkour to get back to safety, now repeat
As you can see its slightly more complicated
If I were to give a tip to all radiant markoth strugglers out there.. Nail arts are great since you're usually just doing 1 or 2 hits anyway.. might aswell do the biggest hit you can
Fun fact: Equipping dream wielder and dream shield buffs dream shield significantly.

Edit: also it obviously is possible but I do genuinely think that radiant would be undoable, ascended would be a lot more accomplishable but with the platforms it would be more like a 20 minute fight I would imagine
Yeah for sure. I could barely do attuned with lifeblood core and joni’s. Radiant requires 46 dreamshield hits, without getting hit once, and with the no floor arena. Definitely seems like it will require lots of hours to complete
...Dreamshield is pretty decent. Not for this fight, tho. And dream wielder also makes the charm much better.

It would take 46 dream shield hits to kill him on ascended/radiant
21 damage per hit(dream shield reflects nail damage) and 950 health(higher tier markoth health)
Does the strength of your nail not effect health? Or is that just in the base game and not in godhome
@@gijswinkelhuijzen7874 Yeah it only scales in the overworld. On top of that though, most bosses have bigger HP buffs in Godhome. Max Markoth scaling HP in the overworld(Pure nail) is only 705, while Godhome Ascended/Radiant is 950. So the bosses are basically scaled up past their overworld max for Godhome by default

Also, would you like to explain how you seem to be regaining lifeblood masks without having hiveblood equipped?
yeah im sorry i dont have all the time in the world to spend fighting one boss. also im not regaining lifeblood hearts idk where you saw that
EDIT: i watched the video and sure enough i am regaining lifeblood hearts. i think i just made an editing mistake cause there is no way to regain blue hearts in this game

Why not with kingsoul also? Lets you have soul to heal, which means dreamshield spins faster
i feel like standing still during markoth second phase is not exactly a good idea
@@FIREOWLHK shape of unn + quick focus, still the only damaging source is dreamshield so this should still be allowed

occasionally though im not grinding it like i used to. there are people in the community way more talented then me who are. the furthest someone has gotten is second phase with 1 accidental nail hit
use spells and nail. youre defying the point of the challenge but hey youre only using dreamshield
as your only charm :)
