Sadly she passed in 2010, but every time I hear these songs, and watch others discover the joy in them, I think of my Mum and the joy she passed to everybody! This IS BLUE EYED SOUL... I am 76 and the love of my life & high school sweetheart ,Sharon, and I saw them in 1965 at the Community Concourse in San Diego. They were AMAZING. Full tuxedos & orchestra. There were Black folks there to & we all had a great experience hearing these great voices. I will NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT & Sharon is STILL THE LOVE OF MY LIFE.

I grew up in SoCal during the 60s. They(Righteous Brothers)would perform at the Orange County Fairgrounds during the annual fair. They sounded as good live as they do today on film. My favorites are Little Latin Lupe Lu and You've Lost That Lovin Feeling"

I am now almost 82 and it never fails to stir my heart. “Unchained Melody” was written in 1955 for the film, “Unchained.” The film was a flop but the music wasn’t. It was the story of an incarcerated man who is longing to return to his wife and children, wondering if she will be there for him when he is released. It is claimed that nine months after Bobby sang this perfect rendition that the birth rate spiked. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true. That tiny mic, no writhing or gyrating, no gimmicks. He just stood and delivered. We are the lucky recipients of his God given talent. 🙏🏼 PS he was also a fine football player.

A song from my teenage years. So good to see the younger generation enjoying our music. There is a whole lot of wonderful music from the 50"s and ^60's and now days from an acapella group called Home Free that you have to try out. They do a lot of covers but also do song they composed. A good cover is from Boys to men "End of the road and an original is "Playing with Fire" check them out and follow them down the Home Free Rabbit Hole. PS: I'm 75
Hundreds of singers have sung this song but none better than Bobby Hatfield. The studio version of this song was featured in the film 'Ghost' and was great but this live version is stupendous. His mother was in the audience watching him perform live for the first time, he had a cold and also suffered with stage fright. No autotune just pure talent. If you watch him at the end his face does not contort like other singers when he hits the high notes.

The Andy Williams Show- Episode #4.5 Episode aired: Monday, Oct 25, 1965: Robert Lee Hatfield (August 10, 1940 - November 5, 2003) Bobby Hatfield, who had a higher countertenor voice to Bill Medley’s, William Thomas Medley (born September 19, 1940) baritone, sang lead on this track. It was his idea to record it, since Medley and Hatfield were each allowed to choose a song to sing as a solo vocalist on their albums. As Medley tells it, Hatfield knew the song well, and was a big fan of the Roy Hamilton and Al Hibbler versions of the song. *In Nov. 2003 Hatfield died of a heart attack at age 63. The Righteous Brothers version was a huge hit, but it was recorded with far more modest expectations. Phil Spector considered it album filler and released it as a B-side. The single had "Unchained Melody," with no producer credit on the label, as the flip to Gerry Goffin and Carole King's "Hung on You," but many DJs preferred "Unchained Melody" and played that one instead. Hello again my friend. I have just subscribed to your channel after your reaction to Angelina performing I Put A Spell On You from when she had JUST turned 9 years old. And now that I see that you have reacted to THIS video as well, there is absolutely NO way that I'm not going to tell you that Angelina, too, has covered this song a few times. The last time however, was her most recent performance, from December 11th 2023, when she performed on the Nobel Peace Prize concert here in Norway. The winner of the prize was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian women's rights activist who has been imprisoned for many years, and haven's seen her son and daughter (17 year old twins) in MANY years. They came to Norway on her mother's behalf, and sat just a few meters away from Angelina when she sang the song. Angelina's biggest inspiration in life is her grandmother. Her name is Mery Zamani, and she is Iranian as well. You can imagine what it meant to Angelina and her family to perform on this event. This also made Angelina the only artist younger than 18 to perform twice on the Nobel Peace Prize concert, the first time was when she was 8. If you want to hear what Angelina sounds like as of right now, this should be your next reaction. She was 30 days shy of being 18 years old. Her birthday is on January 10th. Bobby Hatfield had a very rare voice for a man called a countertenor. It's equivalent to a high soprano. He had a 4.5 to 5 octave range. He'd probably still be alive if not for a cocaine induced heart attack in his sleep.
This song was used in the movie Ghost and the Righteous brothers song "you lost that love and feeling" was used in the first Too Gun movie and Bill the other half of this duo sang the song" Time of my life" that was in the movie Dirty Dancing

And now that I see that you have reacted to THIS video as well, there is absolutely NO way that I'm not going to tell you that Angelina, too, has covered this song a few times. The last time however, was her most recent performance, from December 11th 2023, when she performed on the Nobel Peace Prize concert here in Norway. The winner of the prize was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian women's rights activist who has been imprisoned for many years, and haven's seen her son and daughter (17 year old twins) in MANY years. They came to Norway on her mother's behalf, and sat just a few meters away from Angelina when she sang the song. Angelina's biggest inspiration in life is her grandmother. Her name is Mery Zamani, and she is Iranian as well. You can imagine what it meant to Angelina and her family to perform on this event. This also made Angelina the only artist younger than 18 to perform twice on the Nobel Peace Prize concert, the first time was when she was 8.
If you want to hear what Angelina sounds like as of right now, this should be your next reaction. She was 30 days shy of being 18 years old. Her birthday is on January 10th.

Bobby Hatfield had a very rare voice for a man called a countertenor. It's equivalent to a high soprano. He had a 4.5 to 5 octave range. He'd probably still be alive if not for a cocaine induced heart attack in his sleep.
