I’m a massive fan of this guitar player. He shows great restraint and never over plays and his tone is always awesome!
I think that's an essential characteristic for session musicians. They have to leave their egos at home. I'd seen several videos featuring Cam Blokland either singing or playing rhythm guitar, but it turned out in a later video (Beat It, I think) that he's an awesome lead guitarist. Another one is HSCC's Jake Milic, who nails his parts and never overplays. As a guitar player myself, I take my hat off to these guys, because I usually give in to the temptation to show off!
Being a HSCC fan, I have been with Darren's current channel since its inception. To us not from SA, Cam and Zyke are two revealations as great lead vocalists by watching this channel. Even though himself a very good guitarist, during the formative year of SIL, Cam has recessed to a backseat whenever Zan or Stefan was around. With SIL now established, it's good that we get to see more of lead guitar works. Yes, if we watched Crafty's own channel, we would also understand why Crafty was ready playing rhythm guitar alongside Cameron. It's mutual support and understanding to come up with a great piece of music.
A quick one on Jake. I am sure he has chops good enough to be now HSCC's resident guitarist but I have yet to see him getting his true shining moments. Hope his channel can pick a right song for him soon.

I’m a singer and this is another level of excellence! GM’s singing is technically difficult with a very unique style (makes him almost impossible to copy), I’ve had to stop my day a listen to this about 5 times!!

I'm a former recording artist, producer, and record label owner...with 40 years in the business. You guys just took on one of the hardest tunes to perform since the original is truly perfection. All of you delivered perfectly. Great chops, great vocals, great dynamics, great harmonies...I could go on. If I had any complaint, and it's so minor...is that I would like to see a little more verb on the lead vocal. If I was still in the bizz, I would beg you to sign with my label. If you ever travel to America, I'll be there. Oh and bring the dog! 😅
Thanks so much. Recording this way has it's challenges but I've learnt to make the 'bleed' part of the mix. Something great about performing together in the same space that promotes a tight energy filled recording👊🏼
@@singitliveworld I agree...the energy in that room is incredible. There were times when we would ask a singer to step out of the vocal booth and we would place them in the same room as the rest of the band. You could hear the change and it was amazing. It also made the engineering more challenging. By the way, your mix and mastering are incredibly good. Also, when George recorded the original, they used three of the same lead vocal track. Center was the primary. The second was slightly...very slightly...above pitch. The third track was slightly below the primary. This was all done before we had more modern tools as we see today. The effect was that George's vocal sounds doubled, but it also sounds slightly fatter. It was true perfection by the engineers. There is only one measure in his original studio recording where you can hear the vocal sound slightly off, but it's so slight that most untrained ears never hear it. Anyway, you guys are really amazing.

Holey sheepsh!t, Batman, this is SO FREAKIN' GOOD! Every part is done so well, but the standout is that groovy bass-line- damn, gang. Just, damn.
That's some serious syncopated rhythm going on between the bass guitar and drums. Awesomw job guys. All the vocals and back-ups continue to impress. How did he ever play that drum beat and sing back ups? Totally impressed. Shaun continues to amaze me with his vocal ability. And Then we got Zkye looking gorgeous and singing back up harmonies like no tomorrow. Really love this arrangement Darren. Great keys and production.
