Abby lost everything trying to avenge her father just like Ellie. The whole point of part 2 was that vengeance will give you no satisfaction and will only serve to hurt you.

Abby is an incredible character. You hate her at first but then understand she has a story too and people she loves and protects. I just hate that there’s people in the fandom that still blindly see her as the villain
She did know that the people he killed to save her were Abby's people, so she could've figured out that someone from them is Abby's father or friends or something
I still think it would be cool if they added a different scene at the end in the theater where abby just leaves without hurting ellie and that was the ending. Obviously the actual ending is way better but i still think it would be cool❤❤
I LOVE Abby’s character. Now before you give me shit for saying that let me explain, I love Joel & Ellie and that will never change… but the fact that Ellie couldn’t kill Abby is enough for me to drop Ellie for being too weak for revenge. Revenge is a losers game I know but in sense of the TLOU2 universe and the will to survive in the post apocalyptic world morals and principles are out the window, how you lose everything and at the end you couldn’t kill the person that killed your “father” maybe ND made it like that so we can have two main characters or purposely have the way it turned out to grow away from Joel & Ellie but the more times I keep playing TLOU2 the more I enjoy playing Abby’s POV then Ellie’s every time lol hang me for all I care. Ellie was a soft ass weak ass little girl that couldn’t finish a simple “vengeance” adventure.

A lot of people seem to miss the whole redemption arc she has in the game? She remind so much of joel in the first game ❤

I dont think Ellie knew that Jerry was Abby's dad. she just knew Joel killed the doctor that could possibly find a cure.
