I remember back in the day what a shock it was to hear this noisy, fuzzy, and glorious opener, coming on the heels of the elegant Joshua Tree. They really did re-invent themselves.
A lot of people are going to go with Nirvana but I agree this is the best rock album or album period of the 90's. The band reinvented themselves and pulled it off. I hope they can pull it off one more time but that is unlikely. I don't know if they are motivated enough or have it in them as they get older. Can only hope.
I was fortunate enough to see them live on that tour and it is one of the best live experiences, if not the best, of my life. Pertect album, perfect show with perfect timing.

Backpacking Europe we saw them in Salsberg Germany in a small soccer stadium. Intimate and it was amazing. Then saw them later in the US at Arrowhead. Still an amazing show just less intimate! Love that summer!

Zoo TV is U2 at their peak. I have seen most of their tours and it's the best of the best.
