  • Uncle Stevie dropped off his old sled to us so we could check it out! I've never seen one of these sleds before but I love it!! this sled is definitely a survivor!! it still runs like a top and now with a few little rednecks dirtyhands tweaks...its a party wagon 🤣🍻 thanks to the fellas at batteries expert for hooking us up with a new battery for this old girl! check them out www.batteriesexpert.com

    My brother and I were talking the other day how snowmobile company's need to bring back a cheap no frills just simple sled cause they can ride in every snow condition they're fun as hell not overly fast and again just fun to play with.

    I grew up on Evinrudes . we had two quiet flites and two skimmers . I remember warming my hands in the glove compartment on the cold winter nights. as my dad drove while pulling a small trail drag.

    Hey guys i had a 1974 Evinrude Skimmer 440 , not the same but wanted to share. Back in the day when you were shopping for an outboard motor you could buy a sled at the same outfit lol. OMC had ' er all.

    I had a 73 Johnson Golden Ghost. It was a 30hp opposed twin with all the same features as your Evinrude.

    it was an era of rotaries. Bill Sharpless O/O of Sonic motorcycles in Scarborough was a Suzuki dealer and had 2 new 750 Rotary Water buffaloes in the basement crated. Maybe Todd knows what happened to them.

    Hey Pete. You mentioned the goal of possibly doing this full time. I think you have something special going here, I love watching rebuilds especially older stuff.     We had couple of them over the years great machine .We have a couple old sled i have a Rupp Nitro son has a Scorpion Whip daugher inlaw has Arctic cat VIP no belt drive it has automatic trans /hyro coulper and then we have regular sleds Summits 850 and 800

    Had a RX3 wagon, always let me down. Hyper rpm’s that scared the mustangs. But aside from that the old school content is awesome!!!

    My dad had a 1971 Johnson Skee-Horse 30 . It was really heavy, but basically bullet proof. Great sled.

    Hey pet iv been watching your content for sometime now and love what you do, anywho i have a yamaha 1998 vmax 500 XT and she great sled had her for 5 years and shes now in a rough engine was rebuilt 3 times since i owned her cleaned her out changed plugs Belt Now the one piston on the right side is misfiring just a pointer on where i gone wrong lol

      a misfire can be caused by a few things...I'd say check compression first, then plug, wire and coil...then make sure carb is clean and choke is working properly. 🍻

    I restored one years ago and sold it to a collector. Had to make bushings for the bogie suspension, clean up everything and polish. I hope you have a spare spark plug or two, they're impossible to find. I still have a few stashed in one of my toolboxes. Thanks for the memory Hoser !

    Keep up the good work. You should look at diversify your channel a bit with some different projects as you mentioned to get a bigger audience. I don’t even own a snowmobile lol but grew up riding them . Bravo trapper and enticer 340 way back when 😊 .

    Them were gd snowmobile back in the day but very heavy, I used to have one of those when i was 13, evinrude bobcat ss Think it was a 637 or 650, the hood didnt swing up, two latches in the foot well an then u had to take the gas cap off then u could pull the hood off, I got a picture of it but i dont know how i can send it too u if u like to see it lol. let me know.

    Kyle Larson is the best as of course he's my driver being a fellow dirt racer also! OH and he just won Vegas! I had a old snojet when I was young and a case of Milwaukee best would fit perfectly under the hood! Good stuff as always as your channel is the best! Cheers from Colville Washington!

      yeah I've heard that they don't like the cold..we were just using it for racing so we never really had any issues with it but it wasn't that cold out either..

    Pull out and look the apex seals on a motor that was used with smooth throttle control, and those used with the ricky racer blipping. Unless you like spending money and time, you'll neve blip a throttle again unless your carb is acting up

    My dad bought a Evinrude brand new. And a Bob Cat. After that we only drove Arcticcat. Bob cat is faster than the Skeeter. But you have to run premium gas.

    In the early 80s I had a Artee Cat with a Wankel engine that thing couldn’t get out of its own way because it was so underpowered.

    The Johnson SkiHorse are so loud. You will loose hearing after 10 min ride
