    It is really fast and underrated.
    It is reliable and has better interiour quality than most of the modern cars. I can confirm, it feels much faster than 272hp.
    The driving ability is precise and sharp.
    It i a future classic imo.

    Great review! I've had a 2008 standard for 3 years remapped to 250hp/330nm plus some other small mods like head unit, wheels.. It's an amazing daily driver and a joy when the weather is decent.

    Great review as always Tom! I had one of these a few years back and it was an awesome bit of kit! Kind of gutted that I got rid of it last year for a BMW 420d X-Drive (after watching your review 😉) but totally agree, for the money it's a bargain! I remember keeping up with an old 05 plate RS6... that was a thrill!

    Great review. I've got a 58 plate TTS Roadster. Can confirm that the exhaust note is brilliant, especially with the top down. on a run from Cornwall to Wales i've managed 34MPG but i had some boost leaks and the thermostat was gone at the time. All of those are now fixed and i reckon i would get better than that now. Mine is a manual which does help the feeling of being more engaged in the drive.

    A coworker was going out of town and didn't want to leave his at the airport so he asked me to drop it back off at their house. Bought one of my own a couple weeks later. I just happened to buy one with a lot of upgrades including the Brembo brake kit.

    I see you have turned the traction control off, but did you turn off the ESP also?... this is done by holding down the traction control button?
    And yes you are right, a stage 2 will make a massive difference

    2:43 - lack of centre armrest?
    It's right there, on the handbrake lever, except the Germans didn't bother to move it to the drivers side for the UK market.

  • @ramondijkgraaf3805

    2:35 lol, if you'd have the steeringwheel on the left you would have an armrest. quite comfertoble aswell
    6:50 didnt turn the esp off only asr, you have to hold it for longer for the esp to turn off

    Hairdressers cars are under powered convertible versions of a particular mark.
    I certainly wouldn't use that moniker with this model.

    I have a TTS Mk2 as well, but manual.. Bought it 4 years ago with 45k km and drive it once a week.. Currently I am adding a few things like a new radio, subwoofer and it will get new wheels.. Up to today, I am not regretting the purchase and love my car.. Btw.. I am still just at 68k km, and the manufacture year is 2010.. The previous owner did not drive much, as I do not..

    If it got better numbers than the a35 then it must be remapped. Remap alone takes it to about 320bhp

      I've not heard one with an "upgraded" exhaust that doesn't sound like it has a leak.
      Standard sounds just right.

    Please make a video of a TTRS and compare them both, I have a TTS like this one in the video and I’m kinda thinking on changing already, my other option is to go directly to stage 2 (air filter, downpipe and ecu tune) and see if I find it more interesting again hahaha don’t get me wrong is a lovely car but like you get used to it after 2-3 years

    • @ParagonCarsLondon

    This car is not a bargain. The reason is future you will be paying $6200 for a multi-clutch replacement, $4000 for a timing belt/water pump replacement and about $3700 to replace a thermostat.
    The majority of this is all strictly labor.
    When you compare the inevitable labor costs of say a thermostat and a water pump you realize the TT-RS is the real bargain for being less labor intensive to tear down and replace. The lack of a multi clutch and timing belt saves the money listed above in terms of service.

    • @ParagonCarsLondon
      @ParagonCarsLondon  Год назад +21

      Just objectively false. The TTS is known for being reliable by many of its owners. Also, those repair costs are massively inflated.

    • @haakn
      @haakn Год назад +2

      i bet you have never owned either

    • @mightymulatto3000
      @mightymulatto3000 Год назад +3

      @@ParagonCarsLondon Oh it's reliable. It's just the inevitable work that has to be done on the car is expensive due to its design. 6 years and no problems other than a vacuum leak (break booster cracked hose)
      It's only when those parts need to be replaced that it becomes expensive. That said parts and labor in the European market may be less expensive but here in the US Audi is charging $2200 for the multi clutch and $4000 for 16 hours of labor at $250/hr.
      The water pump job itself is $4000 due to it being driven by the timing belt as opposed to the poly V belt. The TTS procedure branches off 4 times in the shop guide as opposed to the TT-RS branching off 1.
      Replacing the thermostat is a $4000 job due to having to remove the alternator, radiator cowl, air cleaner, 3 coolant hoses and a coolant pipe.

    • @mightymulatto3000
      @mightymulatto3000 Год назад +1

      @@haakn If only that were the truth. My wallet would be thanking me. Anyone who really wants the TTRS but thinks they're compromising by getting the less expensive TTS really isn't. They simply have yet to realize that the savings will be spent later on due to the drive train having to come apart for typically simple repairs. The manual gearbox has to be taken out and placed vertically to disengage the multi-clutch and replace it.
      Had I known all this I would have gotten the TT-RS instead.

    • @scitec717

      Where you get them prices from Audi dealership, and they are bargain for what you get them for these days, always got to have something set aside for repairs and maintenance
