‘We know we will find him:’ Halton police continue search for wanted man

- Halton police say they are still looking for a man who they say is a dangerous individual.
Officers were originally searching the area of New Street and Dynes Road on Friday for 41-year-old Tom Shade, who, at the time, police believed to be travelling on foot.
A search of the surrounding area led authorities to locate a firearm and as of Saturday, police say they no longer believe there to be any imminent danger to the public.
“We know we will find him,” Halton police Chief Stephen Tanner said. “I have no reason to believe he is going to be breaking into people’s homes or injuring a member of the public but he is a dangerous person so we always have to air on the side of caution.”
Police say Shade is facing charges related to dangerous driving, flight from police, as well as failure to stop after an accident.
Police have not released any details of the collision and if there were any injuries.
If you see Shade you should immediately call 911.
I got caught in the middle of this on lakeshore. I was really impressed by how police handled it and spread out. They will find him.

What do you mean he was armed, and there are so many firearms on the streets now-a-days ? Blackface told us guns were bad and took them away from law abiding citizens. Quite frankly I'm shocked, shocked that there are still guns on the streets. I hope he truly feels sad about being wanted by the Police. He should just do the right thing and turn himself in.
