The TALLEST and FASTEST Orlando Roller Coaster Mako - Best Hyper?

- In 2016 Seaworld in Orlando Florida opened Mako the Tallest, Fastest and longest roller coaster in Orlando. Its a B&M Hyper and many consider it to be one of the best ever made. Its the newest coaster in the park until Ice Breaker opens later in 2020. In 2016 was this the right fit for the park and how do I think it stacks up with some of the other Hyper coasters by B&M?

If you think about its proximity to Disney and Universal it becomes more logical. Orlando has a huge captive theme park audience who might add on a day trip to seaworld whilst they are at WDW/US. In contrast, Busch Gardens doesn't have anywhere near that same density of tourists. As a coaster enthusiast I got on the bus from SW to BG when I visited Orlando but for your average family they just aren't going to want to make that extra journey

For me, Mako is the best coaster in Florida. That is until we finally get Iron Gwazi. I'll be glad when everything gets back to normal and I can put my BGT platinum pass to use and knock out Iron Gwazi, Ice Breakers and Pantheon.

Behemoth is my favourite hyper coaster, that thing is an airtime machine. Mako is a close second though, what a beauty of a ride.
Mako is freakin' incredible. Florida overall is such a great place for coasters. They may be spread out over several parks but the lineup is as good as anywhere.
Mako was my little brother's first big scary roller coaster... He was crying up the lift hill but at the bottom of the drop his hands were up, now he will ride anything nothing scares him XD
My favorite hypers are Mako and Apollo's as well! Apollo has some awesome airtime! Happy to see someone finally agrees with me on this.

I was in Florida this summer, Sea World was surprisingly good.
2 things. 1, apollo is my favorite hyper of all time and makos my 2nd. 2, YOU TAKE THE CROWN FOR BEST COASTER EDITING BY FAR. THE AMOUNT OF DETAIL YOU PUT INTO THESE VIDEOS IS AMAZING

I live in orange county by Disneyland in California and the two closest traditional hyper coasters to me are Goliath at Magic Mountain and Desperado at Buffalo bills outside Vegas. When I rode Mako for the first time in 2017 it was mind blowing, the two hyper credits i had before this were trash in comparison, I can't wait to go back to Orlando and marathon this coaster.
Behemoth is my personal favorite B&M Hyper, but Mako is a very close second. i love this ride. Awesome video!

Haven’t rode it yet, but damn...the floater on Mako looks nuts and will be (in my view) the best B&M hyper. Home park is SFOG and mako makes Goliath look like its on steroids

Haven't been to Florida in a long time. Last time I was there, it was just Kraken and Atlantis for SeaWorld's lineup. I would love to get back there and ride this coaster. I remember such great views of the water while riding Kraken and this one is no different. I don't have many B&M Hyper credits but this one looks like it'd give Raging Bull and Diamondback a run for their money.
Mako is in my top 20 coasters it's just a perfect coaster with a perfect layout

I've only got a few rides on this thing, but one of them was in the back (one of the best rides I've ever gotten on my relatively limited coaster count). It's crazy that something that is essentially the bare minimum of a hyper packs so much of a punch. I've been on three hypers, Silver Star, Apollo's Chariot (which I barely remember), and of course, Mako. Of the three, Mako is my hands-down favorite.

Nice review! I have ridden all the B&M hypers in North America, and Mako is my favorite. Most B&M hypers are just floater airtime that isn't anything mind-blowing, but Mako packs quite a punch. That big camelback with the sustained airtime is one of my favorite airtime moments on any coaster. It feels like sustained ejector to me.
I hope one day soon I can also have all the Hyper credits thats pretty awesome !!!

All coaster channels I have watched have so many bad things to say about a coaster. You (okaycoasters) are the most laid back person I have ever watched and you are my favorite. You dont show signs of hate or nip pick at coasters. Your also my favorite because you remind me of a common person trying to get some thrills and I love that. I am only a teen but plan to convince my dad to take me to cedar point. Your my inspiration for that and can't thank you enought.😃 hope you get more subs soon!

I’ve only recently became an enthusiast, in 2018 i went to Florida with my family and we only do disney and universal, but driving past sea world and seeing the coasters from the car was amazing and it’s something I can’t wait to see again. Love the videos !

My favorite ride! I was scared the first time, but the drop, speed, and airtime are so good, and I can’t wait to get back on after quarantine.
The lapbar on Mako adds a lot to the experience. The airtime, speed, smoothness it's a very good ride
I'm hoping society as we knew it will eventually return. Orlando is on my list to visit for future rollercoaster credits. I visited Tampa earlier this year for Busch Gardens and had a good time. I drove through Orlando during my visit but I didn't attend any of the parks. I had to trip planned and book to visit California's Great America back in mid March but due to covid19 I had to reschedule 3 times. Hopefully things will be back to normal in early June which is when I'm scheduled to go. I'm looking forward to going to the Bay area and the west coast in general as it will be my first time traveling west of Chicago. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work. New subscriber!!

okaycoasters those 19 are mainly family coasters but I have got a few thrills from last year under my belt, being from the UK those bigger coasters are from Alton towers and Blackpool pleasure beach

Mako was, and still is, my second Hyper to have ridde n(first was Nitro, if that's a hyper. I'm new at this). And I have to ride it as LEAST 5 times every time I visit SeaWorld Orlando. It's probably my most favorite coaster here in Florida, only beaten out by Kingda Ka and El Toro in Great Adventure.

Yet another great vid! As you probably know my home park is dorney and in 2021 they might be getting a gravity group shuttle coaster! Sadly they might remove possessed most likely due to the fact that those impulse coasters are getting expensive to maintain😢

RoPlayz one word man. Commitment. You have no idea the absolute slew of hours this guy pours into his work. Between filming, editing and researching new filming and editing techniques. It’s INSANE
I use a mix of stuff but most is done in Final Cut Pro. My advice would be to practice as much as you can..Im still learning so much everyday.
Considering B&M doesn't consider coasters with a height and/or drop over 300' gigas, or any coasters with a height and/or drop under 200' megas: Although I've never ridden any B&M hyper, I'd guess my top six would be would be 6) Nitro; 5) Leviathan; 4) Behemoth 3) Shambhala: 2) Diamondback;) 1) Fury 325. But I love this video and I'm sure I'd love this coaster too. Thanks for posting!
I haven’t been on Mako yet but I had plans to get back to SeaWorld this summer 🤞🤞 Mako has been on my list of must-rides since it opened and I just haven’t had the time to get to Orlando 😢

Thanks! Fury is the only B&M giga I have experience and its really really good. For sure in a different category however I still really enjoy the hypers alot. I am beyond excited for Candymonium

It's definitely my favorite hyper and my #6 overall, and happens to be at one of my home parks (I view Fury 325 as Giga, though it's a hyper model per B&M, and don't count coasters 200-299' with inversions, like Steel Vengeance, as being "hypers" either ). Diamondback is my 2nd favorite hyper. Apollo's Chariot is my 4th fav, and was the first I rode the year it opened.

Hi, from the UK. Loved Mako, that thing has some great airtime moments. I went to Six Flags Great America, in 2018, and rode Raging Bull, a great coaster, but i think Mako is better ( more airtime.) A great addition to Seaworld, and love the views of it, from the top of Kraken.

Is it the best hyper out there from B&M? Well for me it's the second best one I've ridden. So far I've only ridden 4 and the only one I like more than this is Raging Bull at SeaWorld Orlando. What I like a lot about this one is the way it maneuvers over the water, it's not to intense, and that final turn into the station never gets old.
Funny story at first i was terrified of Mako my friends literally had to bribe me into riding it, and then now here I am🤣

I've done 5 hypers and the best of those is hands down Shambhala.

I think the 4 wide hypers are good for GP traffic cranking people out. But it is exactly like you said, having the tallest and fastest with the silky smooth ride of a B&M, it's a huge win. I do have 1 more question.

Mako is great, but Diamondback is slightly better. I need to get back to BGW on a warm day, Apollo was so lackluster on the cold day I was there last april
Oh NO do not let Airtime Myke see that Diamondback comment hahahaha. Apollo's can run really good and really slow......Me and my son went to the park one day at opening and went right to Apollo's. Got 5-10 rides on it and went around the park......It was cloudy and temp was down....As the day went on the sun came out and it got much warmer.....Before we left the park we went back to it......I will never forget the look on his face that ride.....We hit the brake run and said "Dad that did not feel like it did earlier" I said do you wanna ride it again and he said no im ready to go hahaha.

I was curious from your previous videos but the statement you made in this one regarding hypers has made it obvious to me now... you've not been to SFOG. I'd try and tie that in with a Dollywood trip or something because Goliath is a hell of a hyper.
Yes you are right I have not made that trip yet however I plan to very soon and from what i've been told Goliath is probably gonna change my mind.

B&M hypers are the best coasters, my personal favorite being goliath at great america, which starts my top 10 off. Also in the back, you get launched out of your seat. You cant go wrong with a B&M hyper, as theme park crazy says!

@@Okaycoasters im hoping they reopen this year so i can go again, but they might not cause of covid, which is sad. I would defenitely recommend going for goliath first, cause its gonna be an easy ride ince you get there, and DEFENITELY ride the demon and american eagle last, cause when i went there last year, eagle was a walk-on mid-day and demon will give you headbanging. I wish the best of luck to you in any future visits, and hope that none of the coasters will be closed when you should decide to go
Assuming hyper=no inversions, skyrush is best, mako is a close second. With inversions we all know its steel vengeance. Lol
