@@Michelle-kc8htJust know Bill loved you just the same as he loved all other humans. I on the other hand was always told if you aint got nothing nice to say…
How amazing is it that when Bill was young he had a speech impediment so bad he was afraid to talk! You'd never know that now. He's awesome at telling stories..
LOL so bad he was afraid to talk and as long as he was able to live once he became a broadcaster, hard to shut hin up but boy was it just awesome listening to stuff like this
Bill is the only person since the late Robin Williams that I've seen that can seize the mic and never give it back. Plus, you also feel like you've spoken to a motivational speaker afterward. Just a treasure of a guy.
I love Bill Walton the way Bill Walton loves the Grateful Dead. I lived in Portland during his years with the Blazers, an amazingly happy coincidence. He and I arrived and departed that city at the same time. The year the Blazers won the championship by destroying the superstar laden 76ers, and the following year when the team was even better -- until the last 1-2 months of the regular season when they lost Bill, Maurice Lucas and basically every one of their "star" players (NOBODY but Lucas on the team was a star without Bill elevating them beyond their best dreams), and a team that started 50-10 had no chance in the playoffs ------ I have never seen an athlete in any professional sport during any of my 70 years, do for the Blazers what Bill did during those 2 seasons. Whatever they needed on any given night, Walton supplied. Had he been able to play 10 healthy years in the NBA, he would have exceeded Jordan or run with him neck and neck for the best of all time. Clearly in my mind he is the most underrated NBA player ever. He was still a quiet man in those days of the mid to later 70s - pre-Marty Glickman and getting him over his speech impediment. But he was everywhere helping the community and individuals the way he elevated the Blazers on the court. I was fortunate to live just a couple of blocks from where he did, and he was everywhere on his bicycle in the course of living a humble life despite greatness and earnings. I lived in a fascinating and spooky old rickety apartment house that has been a featured location in a few films. One morning when I awoke, I heard some happy sounding commotion outside my ground floor window that faced our gravel parking lot. I opened the blinds to see a large group of young children partying it up, with Bill in the center of their circle teaching each and every one of them how to juggle....an absolutely spontaneous event not on anyone's calendar in a quiet residential area at 7:30 AM. That moment I believe really defined Bill's character and enthusiasm for life, and every time I see him in the media my high blood pressure comes under control. A uniquely great man and I hope you'll do some long segments with him and even get some questions in. Thanks for this!
I selfishly thought l had ten more years of listening to the wisdom, intelligence and insightfulness of Bill Walton so l am soaking up all the previously unseen interviews l can find on the internet.
Bill Walton is very lucky. Lucky to be healthy enough to contribute to two championship teams ( Portland, Boston ). Lucky to get his speaking opened up in time to enter NBA broadcasting with a team in his home town of San Diego ( now the Clippers ), and extra lucky to have Ralph Lawler with him from there. Thanks for just letting Bill talk, Dan and team.
Bill Walton is unironically my favorite person in sports. No matter what's going on when Bill Walton is on you can't help but have a big ass smile & be happy. That's a beautiful energy we should all aspire to achieve for real
@@4736dmr They played in different eras and systems. I believe Bill passed as well in the half court as Joker does. But in the 70's some teams were still striving to play fast break basketball - opposing team shoots, perimeter players instantly release towards their basket, and Bill is there to clean the boards of a miss and with lightning release while still in the air to grab the rebound, snaps the ball full court and it would land right in the mitts of Hollins, Johnny Davis or whoever was breaking away for uncontested dunks and layups. It was ballet basketball. Wes Unseld of the old Washington Bullets was in Bill's league for turning the outlet pass into a work of art, and they won the ring I think 2 years after Bill left to be perpetually injured in San Diego (pre-Celtics), and Unseld was also an MVP.
Walton needs to be on more often. His 30 for 30 is solid so far. Wish people remembered how skilled he was as a big-man, including his court vision. I should have appreciated his on-air shtick more when he was “arguing” with Snapper during NBA on NBC games.
I'm just so thankful with how does interview went just because I get to sit back and listen to this Legend talk uninterrupted for so long it made me happy out of my sadness
I ran into Bill a few years ago at the Allegretto in Paso Robels CA. He was doing a charity bike tour all the way south to San Diego. The guy is a rock star.
Truly one of the unique personalities not just for the NBA, but all of sports. 1 of 1. He has the respect from players of his time; and after. One of the greatest what ifs for the NBA. Wish more people had his mentality, the positivity is truly remarkable. RIP bill, I will watch this interview for years to come for a laugh, and reflection.
Bill, please tell me you are going to be announcing PAC 12 basketball again next year. You are the best commentator ever. Boulder Colorado loves you brother!
Wow, he may ramble and have social communication disorder on the autism spectrum like me (I'm not sure if he did), but boy is he entertaining, you can hear it in his voice, see it in his eyes and feel it in your heart. May he rest in paradise.
You would have thought that all the hemp/hash hish/and enough weed ... and 60s weed mind you... his knees would have been better... dude traveled with the Grateful Dead... crazy hippie... not to mention his UCLA YEARS were smacked between 67 and 70... are kidding me the man is half a bong.
This is my landlord. Dude will come out to check the mail mysteriously everytime I pull up to the house (2 family, he lives downstairs). Proceeds to go on for 45 minutes telling me about his day and how his last golf game went. Ignores all indications of me starting to feel flushing in my face which then turns to rage face, continues to take. Not a single second to get a word in n escape. People like this are god awful to be around. Oh, n I hate golf.
Protect Bill Walton at all costs.
We tried but sadly we could not. RIP Bill.
The world is a lesser place without Bill Walton in it. Rest easy, big fella.
Glad he's gone

We are the lucky ones whose time on this planet overlapped with Bill Walton. Shine on brother.🎇
Bill looks and sounds incredible. Glad to see he's still sharp as ever
He kept his cancer diagnosis quiet and no one knew.
One of these days Bill Walton will come out of his shell. Boy, will we be in for a treat then. 😂

Talking about all this all while fighting cancer. Man was special.

Bill was the best passing center i'd ever seen in the nba.....until I saw the Joker play
4736dmr look up clips of Arvydas Sabonis, in his prime. Bill Russell was underrated as a facilitator, too.
Listen to some dead and bring some of that energy into your life !

Bill Walton remains America’s Greatest Living American.
Let's NOT over exaggerate
What other guests can go longer without being asked a question? This could be a great game.
Zero
RIP big red
God bless you bill Walton
Pretty good for a guy who used to be a stutterer. His 30 for 30 show "The Luckiest Man Alive" is sensational. Watch all 4 episodes.

Hell yeah 😎 Seeing Bill at a Grateful Dead show was like seeing a beacon of JOY 😊
San Diego’s finest! ☮️

This is sooo Funny and good for the Soul. RIP Big Red
Lebetard is the best to ever do it
He has an argument. His consistency, skill and team building is top tier!
Greg Cote would like a word.
Pat Mcafee is better

The interview would have been much better if Dan and Stugotz had given Bill a chance to talk instead of constantly interrupting him. 😂
Bill best story teller. That’s why ESPN took him off the Air. 🤣 hahaha
Yeah the rest of the talent realized none of them could tell a more engaging story than him 😂😂😂
This might be one of the greatest videos I have ever seen 😂 . Pure gold! 😤💯🤣
I love that they incorporated the Dead into his documentary
A heavy loss… SHINE ON.
I love this man with all my heart
Terrapin Station Anchorage in ‘80 sound was ripped clean off the board, sounds amazing. Dead had a show at West High school, so cool.
My favorite description of Walton, is that he's the only person who can simultaneously be completely truthful, and totally full of crap...
that was just MAGIC pure JOY and VIBES!!!!
thanks bIll, thanks dan , thanks stu
Top tier interview, RIP Bill!!
I’ve never wanted to be 70 more badly in my life than today. Lions Mane FTW!

Please please please look up comedy bang bang bill walton. From the dan lebetard show with stugotz to comedy bang bang.
Burgettstown, PA! Was at that dead show as well
When I was 8 I found basketball, 3 years after I found my bike…LMAO
Incredible job? 😂 Kidding, that was awesome!! ❤
That was amazing
This was hilarious.

Was going to say the same, but in caps. LEGEND.
Had to see it to believe it
"Peace, Love, ?????, and Music". My mind keeps hearing "Bush"? Fits, but that can't be what he said.
What a guy. As a Deadhead I get it. I’ll miss him. Stu needs to take over where Bill left off.
Incredible
Bill the king of hyerbole RIP. Awesome interview 😂😂😂.

8 people?
For a radios show?
So 7 guys who do nothing.
