Bill Walton was a great player for the Portland Trailblazers and brought them a championship very quickly and also won the MVP and finals MVP. Unfortunately then injuries came on pretty badly and he had a few average seasons before becoming the 2nd team leader on a Boston Celtics team that is regarded as maybe there best ever. I just really loved Bill Walton’s game he is one of my favourite players all time and he seems like a really nice genuine guy.
How anyone can produce a documentary about Walton and not mention his love of and devotion to the Grateful Dead is beyond belief. To this day Walton says that BB and the Grateful Dead were the passions he had throughout his life.
I will never forgive Walton for beating Dr J in that ‘77 NBA Finals. I will never forgive him for beating up Kareem in the Conference Finals that same year. After that, he was one of my favorite players
Unreal. Poor guy was running around on broken feet and they were calling him week because it hurt. 😢 Imagine if he came into todays league. What his potential really was. Understandably he is known as a great. He could have been an all time great.
Walton Was Terrific ......... Pretty Good Cast At Portland In That title year .......... The Pieces Fit ........... Gross And twardzik ......... Lucas ........ OUTSTANDING BALL CLUB ........
I miss him already. He was a great player and he was a thoughtful person. He might have needed not to have ingested academia unchecked. The man was smart, but probably never knew the other side of the discussion.
Had goten away from watching college ball last few years last season turned on a game BW was announceing so glad i watched all of it last time i ever seen BW .rest easy heavens getting a champion
I remember when the Rockets played that championship series against the Celtics and Bill, Danny, and DJ were the worst in my opinion. I was young and dumb about what those men were doing on the court. When I got educated and did more research of those men, who I thought were coat-tailing, was when I had to humble myself and recognize game. I think that if Bill Walton had stayed healthy throughout his time in the NBA the conversation of big men would definitely be different.
Peace 7'0 t duncan wilt 4.4: russell 4.3: kareem 3.6: issel 3.0: Walton 3.0 assist average per game nba career's only CENTERS to average three 3 assist per game fundamentals can pass out of double teams big red head 📗👍 🏀✌️
He was a key to the 1986 Celtics title, but his politics just put me off to the point I can’t get past his beliefs. Everyone says he’s a wonderful guy and he probably was but the activism is a turn-off.
One of the best centers of all. When he was healthy. He and Kareem are my favorite centers of all time.
Anyone else here after hearing about his passing? R.i.p. Big red
RIP. Throw it Down, Big Man. Throw it Down...
San Diego and Helix High School’s own Bill Walton. And yes. THROW IT DOWN BIG MAN!!!!
❤️ bill Walton my hero
Devastated.
Bill was one of the most beautiful human beings to walk the planet.
He was smooth. Super iq on the court. We wouldnt have that one and only title in portland without him.
Rest in peace Bill! You were a True Champion on so many levels.
RIP Bill Walton Arguably the greatest Portland Trailblazer of all time!!
Rest easy Bill Walton. Can’t believe the PAC12 dies with him this year. LONG LIVE THE COLLEGE OF CHAMPIONS
Big Red. Amazing intelligence. Portland wouldn't be the trailblazers without him; UCLA icon. Plus he stood up for what is right.
The 1973 NCAA championship, 21 for 22 or sum thing. Against Memphis State. Man, that was insane even today.

He saw the Dead 1,000 times, give or take a few.
Agree. Feel I wasted my time now

What's amazing to me is that He remembers the losses with such detail, that man was a true competitor!
The Breaks of the Game by David Halberstam is the best sports book that I ever read.

great review, thank you.
I´m so happy with these inane ads on RUclips - they often allow me to take extended, unrushed bathroom breaks.
Walton basically played 2 healthy years
He won 2 rings
Great player and, more importantly, a great human being. RIP Bill. Here’s hoping you’re jammin’ with Jerry in the next life.
With the strides that today's medicine has made, if it had been there then it would be one of the top 3 centers of all time.
RIP 🙏
RIP BIG Red 🙏
Let’s get it on

His championship is worth 100. One in a million run.

No TV in house growing up. If it gives you BW , maybe not bad idea.
Update: Sad news. Bill Walton has died after a long-battle with cancer. He was 71. RIP
Not dunks either so he could shoot;, some other centers should watch this
I think Walton was a truly great player and passer, but gee... didn't Wilt Chamberlain lead the league in assists?!?🤔
He was a key to the 1986 Celtics title, but his politics just put me off to the point I can’t get past his beliefs. Everyone says he’s a wonderful guy and he probably was but the activism is a turn-off.
Also, it's highly likely his being a vegetarian weakened his bones and ultimately ruined his career!
