I Watched It Happen to Her When I Should Have Helped

- I learned a hard lesson during the fifth grade that will stay with me forever . We were only 10 years old - you could say we were too young to know any better - but there's no excuse.., not for this.
The 5th grade was not a great year for me. I had no friends and remember feeling very much alone. My brother was in another class so I couldn't talk to him . I was always singled out of everything . I wasn't a shy person. Well, maybe a little. I guess I just liked to focus on my education and I preferred to work independently. This made it hard to make friends with my peers . What made it even harder was how toxic I felt many of them were .
Thankfully I enjoyed learning, and that's all that really mattered to me at the time . Every day I just kept my head down and got on with my work as normal, until one day, there was an interruption in the normal routine. An unfamiliar woman walked into our classroom with this kid trailing behind her head down. Our teacher smiled and called for our attention . "Class, we have a new student who will be joining you. Everyone, please meet your newest classmate, Brianna."
I don't know when or why exactly it happened, but my classmates got sick of her silence. They started messing with her . Soon the rumors began to spread. One thing to note about Brianna - she was a really pretty girl, but her clothes and shoes often had stains or holes in them . They started calling her poor and dirty. They said that she smelled and that she hadn't showered in a month . When they told her to her face she was an orphan and that no one loved her, she finally reacted, but with tears. This went on for about another month, until that day came that I will never forget.
It was the end of recess. The class was lined up on the basketball court waiting to go inside . I was waiting in the back of the line just behind Brianna. Though I never stuck up for her directly, I always made sure to give her a little smile . I sometimes said hi to her, and I could tell it made her day because she always said hi back and smiled . That day at recess, in the back of the line, I smiled and said hi. She grinned and it made me so happy . But the happiness on our faces disappeared when a group of boys, her main bullies, came over from the front of the line .
I turned to Brianna. Tears were falling from her eyes. I remember exactly what I said to her. "You don't stink." I said firmly. "You're good." I gave her an encouraging smile and she looked at me with gratitude, but also sadness. That look has stayed with me ever since . "Thanks" she murmured. The line started moving and the class walked back to our room . When I turned around, Brianna was nowhere to be seen. Where had she gone?
"It has come to my attention that your classmate Brianna has been badly bullied by THIS VERY CLASS . Brianna. A sweet girl who only just joined us, who did not have a bad word to say to anybody . Instead of lifting her up, you saw weakness and you tore her down, calling her names and even telling her the earth would be a better place without her." She paused and looked down at the floor. "As some of you may know, Brianna hasn't been in school for two weeks now . Her parents have just informed me that..." She paused again. "Brianna tried to take her own life."

No one really did tbh, yes the guy stood up for her but literally every other day she was bullied no one really did anything. When she attempted and was lucky enough to survive then people stood by her, but that just shows what it took for her to finally get noticed.

Samuele Bincoletto and do you think the title should say: “they bullied her to the point were I had enough”
@@sergeantwillyt8860 That would be a way better title.
Yes
at least the story is more believable (did I spell it wrong? let me know)
The punishment was not enough, she suffered so much because of the kids who think that making fun of someone is okay 😡
It is not enough! Bullies should get criminal charges
they should have been expelled, the ones that caused the most pain and the others severely punished taking away their phones is NOT enough
@@grobanite4ever85 It does in the state of Massachusetts and a few other states you should watch this documented film its very moving

Sometimes I wonder what do kids really gain from bullying :(
Un. Fortunately Sometimes they do it for fun or maybe they are taking out their anger/sadness from home if something happened etc.
Un. Fortunately nothing
I don't know. Maybe it makes them feel good to belittle others. You know, instead of rising yourself, push others down, something like that.
@@suchisubhrabhattacharya4387 true or maybe to get attention from others Bc there not getting any attention at home
Idk maybe
I was bullied in school too. And I wondered why other students wouldn't help or defend me. Now I can see that maybe they didn't want to become targets. But there were always maybe a couple students who at least didn't pick on me. I wonder what was going through their minds. And I have aspergers. I had lots of fixations and such, and I guess I talked funny. It was pretty painful when I tried telling the teachers and they wouldn't believe me - the kids would lie. And if I tried insulting them back, they would tell on me and the teachers would believe them. It's just wrong. Teach children to be good to others instead of spotting weaknesses and tearing down other children for that.
The way and reason we got bullied is similar. If I told my teacher though she would say stuff like “I don’t care” or “let me teach” and even recommended that my parents put me in special-Ed school. And the main reason for me being bullied was that I was an over-sensitive kid with ADHD (I never outgrew my ADHD) This was in elementary school btw, so it was a while ago but I still remember it clearly
Well, sad but true, 94% of kids with ASD tend to be verbally bullied at school, 70% are also physically bullied. I have Asperger syndrome too, and I was bullied at elementary and in middle school, whenever I told the teachers about them, they would say "they do It go everyone", "don't listen to them". Really? How can I not listening to them when I go to their same school? Teachers must stop thinking bullying is normal in childhood and teen years, because....is...not! Most of bullying victim tend to suffer from anxiety, depression, self-harming tendencises and self-isolation. I, for example, prefer to spend most of my time watching TV or on my phone, because people in television are perfect. (Well, not always perfect, but they are not always double faced, and if they are, they then get punished)
thank u for speaking up youre brave
this is horrible. being bullied isnt cool or fun.
The thing is, most bullies cant help it. They bully because it makes them feel better, most likely because something has happened to them at home.
I don't Understand what will these bullies really get when they see sadness in others eyes.. moreover, Y can't the parents teach something good to them, to respect others ?? Seeing only weakness in others, is actually the one who is a coward...
If I were to bully and my parents would find out I would be in big trouble. Ny parents don’t tolerate bullying as much as me

"Bullying has an impact on people's lives" this should be a message for all bullies out there.
Unfortunately this is the world we live in. People would rather tear each other down than lift each other up. Good on you man for standing up to them and good on the teacher for taking action to.
He actually did stand up for her
Sometimes it takes courage
but he did it.
He was never bullying her, he was 10. he should not be blamed for this. he actually stood up for her for once

You made the right decision by standing up those bullies to protect that poor girl named Brianna now that's what I call Akhtar bravery they're just being just an innocent bystander being afraid that the boys might turn on your next but sometimes you just got to stand up and let them know no you guys maybe bullies but that doesn't mean that you own everything you're lucky that you became one of the lucky ones they're Brianna they allowed you to to get less homework and more reset timer and also access to your iPad that's a friendship is for I don't know one thing Rihanna will be very happy to see this video you put up for her👌🏽
Brianna a human being and no one deserves to be treated like that now she's made new friends and smiles more than she did before she even came to say high to you Skyler
I remember when I was in 5th grade there was this new girl that came to our school. The older girls immediately noticed her differences and bullied her the same way Briana was bullied in this story. Soon the whole class then the whole grade joined in and started bullying her. I was the only one who was nice to her. And then at the end of the year our teacher finally confronted our class and now that girl is doing better and we say hi to each other in the hall.
Wait- ..is this your story? 👀

You're a great friend standing up to those bullies
typical of American schools. they waited for something to happen and do something abt it. lucky for her to be alive

I'm 21 now but I remember in second grade there was this girl named Brianna as well. She was really heavyset and had to walk with braces. Since the very first day she came, 90% of our class bullied her. My best friend and i stood up for her every time. But that wasn't enough. I would see her crying in the bathroom or waiting outside for our parents after school. After about a week we never saw her again. My teacher said she was bullied so much her mother decided to homeschool her. I was sad. She has the kindest heart if you got to know her. The world is so mean and cruel. We need to learn to live each other. For who we are. Rich or poor. Disabled or healthy. Deaf or hearing. None of that should matter. Our heart should shine through
I PRAYED she wouldn't PASS
I'm SO GLAD
She is alive

This channel is underrated for me. Their stories are so amazing... Not like Actually Happened, Teen Stories or other shits. I also went through a lot of bullying which made me depressed the same thing as Brianna. WE LOVE YOU BRIANNA!!!💗💖
I've always had an intense dislike for bullies. I mean I get that many bully due to their own personal circumstances and issues they have, and go for those that make them insecure an all, but seriously, it serves no purpose or gain to anyone in the end. Live and Let live.

To all those victims always remember that you're human beings too. Don't let others drag you down just because of some flaws.. We all deserve to be treated respectfully.
Spread the word of stop bullying like this video is presented. As someone who’s been bullied myself, I can tell you for certain that it’s not pretty. also we need more teachers like this in the story to stand up to bullying instead of always not doing anything. Continue to spread the message of anti-bullying
I think we can all agree that all of us have been victims of bullying. No matter how severe it was, it's still a reminder of how cruel this world can be to us.
I’m so sad watching this video. I was severely bullied when I was in public school in the inclusion program. No one stood up for me not even my teacher period this has made me a huge activist in the autism community to stand up against bullying.
I agree completely, but thankfully, some kids can be good and do the right thing as well... It's wrong to make fun of anyone who is different, what is supposedly a harmless joke to one person, can be extremely harmful to someone else... More people need to raise awareness against bullying in my opinion.
I'm going to cry 😭
if you know someone being bullied
STAND UP FOR THEM! every little bit matters :)
Poor girl she's so beautiful
"The earth would be better off without you..."

That might of been a “joke” but there’s a difference between harmful jokes and harmless jokes. You don’t have to like or be friends with someone. But you should still be respectful and leave them alone. Bullying is never the answer.
This story melts me, amazing message to be honest a lot of these stories I think would be great to show in school especially to younger groups (like junior high age) to catch attention. I would Of definitely took from a lot of these stories back then. Very educational and keeps your attention the whole time!

I've been bullied before, it's not fun. So please be kind to everyone because you never know thier circumstances.
the teacher didn't punish then enough like this girl almost died because of them, if I was her I would give them 10 pages of each subject of homework a day, no breaks in class, cut lunch to 15 minutes, and you aren't allowed to talk at all. This would be the minimum punishment
God bless that boy and Brianna

There should be some kind of punishment with negative points or something for every bully. And then when he/she tries to go to some other learning institution (like e.g. uni) those negative points should be taken into a consideration and affect their place on rang list or somethig (to influence their life later, they should really feel the conequences of doing bad things to someone)
Bad @$$ bullies are a reflection of their up bringing..some kids are even encouraged to be this way..bad and broken kids are the result of some adult..always..
I was bullied once by my best friends. It wasn't intense or anything, but it made me stop standing up for myself and even turn to someone who dosen't even have a personality. I don't exactly know how I came out and became the person I am, but i know that i did it alone. And that lifts me up knowing that even though no one actually got me out of that, I helped myself. Now, whenever I see someone alone in class, someone who is sitting by themselves, I always say hi, help them and smile- because sometimes one smile can change someone's day.
♡
God I see Brianna in me during my first day in my new school, though I'm not smart but I'm always the quiet one
and whenever I talk, it's always a whisper and a few people leaned into me to hear me better
and a group of boys teased me and bullied me bc I'm quiet and don't wear snazzy clothing
and plus I don't look "good" as the other girls at school
These boys basically didn't touch me and when they do they wipe them off of using their clothes and when it's my things or the things I touched they hold it as trash
Luckily these boys are expelled but these scars always haunt me after 5 years
that experience took a major toll on my mental health and my academic performance
