A couple of years ago I met this cute guy while I was writing in my local coffee shop. The second he walked in, my attention went right to him and I was so smitten. He looked over at me and I instantly broke eye contact, I couldn't help it - he was so darn cute. I ducked my head below my computer screen, peeping to get a glimpse of him and his chocolate brown hair. You see, I'm a writer and so my imagination reaaaally runs wild. And boy, did I already envision all sorts of things between him and I. He was just so cute that I couldn't let him walk by. So, I gathered up the courage to go speak to him.
"Hi, I'm Ana!" I introduced myself. He greeted me back and told me his name. He told me that he was new in town and looking for new friends. "Oh really? I'm quite a little hermit, but I'd be happy to show you around!" I said, trying to hide the excitement in my voice.
We got into a very nice conversation and even went out for a walk together. We had so much in common and I told him all about the short story I had been working on. We hit it off right away and exchanged numbers.
After that day, we spent a lot of time together and got to know each other a lot better. He would always come over to my place and I even introduced him to my roommate Steph, we always had a blast hanging out as a trio. I really enjoyed his company and always imagined how nice it'd be if he was my boyfriend. And alas, one night the three of us were hanging out watching Avengers together before he finally popped the question - I was so thrilled!
One day out of nowhere, he started telling me about the girls he saw in the club. "You know those girls in the club? They have great bodies. And what about your roommate Steph? Now that's a perfect body, why don't you lose weight so you can look like her?". After that day, he kept telling me that he didn’t like chubby girls and that he wasn't physically attracted to me anymore. I didn't know what to think or feel. One moment he'd be so affectionate and then switch to being really cold the next. I kept questioning myself, thinking.. Does he really love me? Is he gonna break up with me because I'm too big for his liking like those beautiful skinny girls?

I was so confused... So, I told him that I'd try my best to lose weight and to look better. But because he kept saying all these harsh comments, I couldn’t help but get upset. Not to mention I felt so weird around my roommate Steph.
I finally broke when he came over to my apartment one day. We all sat around the kitchen table, just chatting before I caught him looking at my roommate up and down while she put away dishes. What the heck! He just looked her UP AND DOWN right in front of me! I tried not to break down right there and then but I held it together.
At this moment, I was starting to lose some weight, hoping he would come back to me because I was looking skinnier but he didn't.
A while after our break up, I finally felt better and came to realize that he never loved me for who I am at all. Instead, he loved me for who he wanted me to be. The situation got me thinking. "Why was I giving my love to someone who wasn't going to appreciate it?

We chose this story because we want to encourage people to speak up if something similar has happened to them and to seek help if they're still in such a situation. We hope this video will encourage people to feel empathy and compassion for those who have gone through such experiences. And we hope that it will encourage us all to do what we can to prevent these things from happening. Even if it does happen we want to encourage people to speak up for their own safety

One of those rare opportunities where being corageous actually turned out not be worth it. Like you know how people say to go and talk to them and that they wont say anything that mean to you (in terms of crushes). This poor girl got just that. I also have weight issues and I also have autism and borderline personality disorder. Because of that I’ve never even been in a relationship and I am 28 years old and still looking for one.
After many years of being alone and single, I finally found a girl that I really like and we are now best friends. While we can’t see each other physically because of the coronavirus we talk almost every day and just like myself she’s also overweight. I don’t care about how a person looks because what matters is a persons personality not their body.
And I am so sorry that you also have to do in your rejection just because of your appearance. I would rather except a person for the kind personality no matter how they look because I’m a very kind person myself but I soon as They see my weight and find out about my disabilities they reject me immediately no matter how kind I’ve been to them.
Body shaming/race and especially Disability shaming is one of the most cruel things anyone can ever do. I’m glad you’re rid of that horribly toxic person and I hope that you will find someone who will make you happy for the rest of your life and I hope he will never be happy for how he treated you. Happened to me. I broke up with my ex because he didn't even want to see me every week for like 2 days (okay, we had to travel 2.5 hours to see each other, 5 total, but we knew it beforehand) and he didn't care about my needs and what I wanted. He did showed me to his friends and he was like 'look at my gf, she is hot'. We had discussions and disagreements all the time, I just needed love and affection and I am more than something to show off.
Another guy is trying to hit on me now, only because of my appearance, and i know that because he didn't even asks what my hobbies are for example 😂.
Some men are just really into appearance, but of you aren't more attractive than average and want to get a girl that is more attractive than average, the chances are small you will get that girl (or guy, let's look at both sides). I'd rather tell the truth than lying.

This story is sad of course, but I think the two take ways here are: better communication between you and your partner, and finding common ground to create a mutual relationship. From the perspective of the guy, who cares. You can't make someone like you, if you're sad because of a breakup, you have the right to be sad. likewise, he has the right to leave and deal with his emotion as he feels fit. Bruh this made me smile. My fiancé is tall,buff and has an amazing body shape. While I'm over here short and a bit chubby. It makes me feel like I'm not even in League,but mannnn he makes me feel so beautiful and special everytime he sees me. I'm grateful he loves me for who I am
These kinds of relationships are always toxic. You know, I have never seen why looks actually matter. If that stupid and horrible guy only wanted her for her body and looks, she should've just broken up with him on the spot. People should not need to change themselves just to make someone happy. I think everyone can look good, no matter how your body looks. As a writer myself, I have one piece of advice. Absolutely no one is perfect, no matter how famous, smart, or attractive they are. Without these imperfections, humanity just wouldn't be the same. We wouldn't have that equal balance. Never give in to what people judge you for. Be yourself, be original, and always stay confident and amazing. Remember this - your imperfections are what make you a human being. What a great video.
