What’s insane to me is, we are now at the point where gameplay look as good, if not better, than cutscenes. Cutscenes nowadays are in-game which makes the transition so seamless. Looks like we’re playing a movie and I love it
It's true. We basically take it for granted now.
maybe lazier cutscenese from like 20+ years ago but yeah, the textures are getting nice. I just wish they would start focusing on physics.
edit: textures, lighting, etc is getting nice**
So true. I still remember the time when I played FF8 and wished the gameplay graphic to be as good as the cutscenes. At that time, the cutscenes is like a reward for me when finished chapters.
Facts
@@humanbean3 are you talking about final fantasy or games in general? Because they have been working on physics, that's why we all these games coming out have ray tracing options for realistic light reflections & shadows where the light is actually bouncing off of objects instead of merely being made to look that way with screen space reflections. It's all coming together at the same time, they're trying to oush the boundaries on everything. I mean the new unreal engine demo I think really demonstrates this. The physics in some games like red dead 2 are really enjoyable as well
Final Fantasy ALWAYS has some serious soundtrack magic
This one was pretty medicore though.
Let’s hope there’ll be better ones throughout the game
yeah I love this piece. It doesn't feel intense and epic like most of FFXV's tracks, but I don't think that's what the composer intended for this.
It feels mysterious, enchanting and a bit grandiose with the drums which is a great support for what we're being shown - the landscapes look super varied and it's cool to see all these massive structures/natural formations. Yet none of this feels over the top, which is most important.
The main melody also kind of sounds emotional, I can't quite pick it. A touch of innocence, or sadness? At first I thought the vocals were by a woman, now I think it might be a young boy which would explain the innoncence feeling. I guess this relates to the character Joshua.
The track feels like a nice change of pace from normal FF themes, like a new beginning. And I love the part from 0:54 where it switches from the vocalist singing the melody to the orchestra playing it
@@epiclight858that’s a great sign
@@michaelhill902there will be so dont worry. Soken is one of the best out there. You would have to "know" him to understand his music and not just know him by name
I like the Semi Open World Setting. Reminds me of the classic rpg format. One Major issue with recent SE games are their vast open world always feel empty and their side quests are less interesting. Just focus on the smaller scale area and make the area fun and interesting, that's what im expecting to see.
What recent games are you talking about. FFXV was pretty much their only really modern attempt at open world and while it had other issues, the open world traversal part was probably one of the things it did pretty well.
you should have just said ff15

I think Naoki Yoshida will create an awesome game.
Finally medieval vibes is back to final fantasy! Love final fantasy 9
@FoxMcCloud64 continues to have medieval vibes on these games... urr durr
FF Always just looks so stunning with their worlds
Now this is the Final Fantasy classic worldbuilding I remember. Now it just needs airships.
I don’t know how that would work lol, they have completely stepped away from magitek and went back to the high fantasy setting.
They better be hiding them
@@khurramjaved7301 to be fair, even the "high fantasy" games had airships
Considering this isn’t a open world game don’t count on any
15 was great though
I think we should all give a round of applause to this adventurer and cameraman for running all over Valisthea to get us this footage.
should've gave them a bike
Don't forget the boom operator.

Soundtrack already sounds like a classic. Can't wait to listen to it all day every day.
That's average Final Fantasy OST for you
Yes. People get excited for almost nothing. It looks pretty. Uhu. Ff 13 also looked very pretty.
@@dudenotsoperfect9366 tbf FF 13 was decent, as long you pretend the sequel never exist :)
What a classic Final Fantasy soundtrack ? That sounds completely run of the mill tbh.
@@dudenotsoperfect9366 This is gonna be 10 times better than 13. The team behind this worked on ff14 and dmc v. They also had a presentation some days ago which is 1 hour and showed everything in detail, there's no way this game is gonna fail.
Every XIV player instantly sees the XIV-DNA in the areas and the music, it feels like a beautiful version of Eorzea
Of course you do, that's called bias.
mmmmwaa
I can definitely taste that DNA man
Eorzea is just a very disappointing Vana'diel, I hope it's nothing like Eorzea, not even any reused assets.
@@aegisstari1494 so true
It feels like Eorzea but with greater detail. I love it.
yea thats what i was thinking too!
the whole place feels like Eorzea 2.0
Then I realize, this is FFXIV + 2 afterall!
Same guys who work on FF14 are on this and what a choice, MMO's aren't for everyone but when it comes to world building they smashed it with Shadowbringers for example - can see a few of these areas definitely take inspiration
This is what I hope the 7.0 graphical overhaul will make it look like, but that's a lot of hopium.
I really hope that it will be so much more than an Eorzea 2.0. I never could get into this world. Maybe because the game wasn't really for me, maybe it has other reasons, I don't actually know. I know that FF14 is a good game, but it's just not the right for me.
I hope the world is going to feel really "alive". Nothing worse that a world full of completely irrelevant and non-speaking NPCs.
The music sells me the world... I need this game
Not gonna lie, the soundtrack and world design are amazing. The combat looks great and the story seems interesting. I'm hyped
Something different in the ff series. Looking forward to it
thx for not lying 👍🏼
Hey, thanks for not lying.
We all appreciate you not lying.
Really glad you didn't lie. Thx
Man we really need a 4k version of this
Edit: Do I actually need to clarify that I don't mean I literally need the trailer in 4k and that I'd just really like to see it?🙂
It’s not 4k?
*60 fps version
I keep commenting on Gamespots and IGN's youtube uploads to include 4k trailers but they seem to be stuck in the past with the capped 1080p uploads. Annoying.
I'm pretty sure "need" shouldn't go together with "4k" in a sentence.

FF12 flashbacks with some of the scenery, love it
That sword on his back looks so sick
It's too soon to say, but this is giving me vibes of why i fell in love with the series as a kid. The music and scale is on point. Hopefully they can give it depth, atmosphere, and fill what kind of looks like an empty world.
I hope so too. Im a bit skeptical since what we have seen so far has been extremely combat heavy. Fun and challenging combat is good, but it's really only a small part of what has made past FF games iconic.
@@andretheseal9837 Right? Story was everything. Fights only mattered if they where battles worth fighting.
@@andretheseal9837 they did say during the PAX East presentation panel that they're releasing more info regarding the RPG aspects sometime before the release so i guess we'd see more of the other aspects of the game outside of combat then
It is? It looks bleak compared to the classics like ff9 or 10 imo

Oh my lord yes I said the same. Reminded me of Dalmasca and the forests, cant remember what they were called at this moment. I just dont know if I'm read for another heart breaking story. FF15 legit made cry.
Yep, I saw Nalbina Fortress when he was walking through the market.

Today I started playing final fantasy 15 on pc with the graphical upgrades and its friken tight! Extremelly beautiful and more fun than I expected. just have to plan and not button push. Glad This trailer came up and reminded me about final fantasy
Enjoy! It's my favorite FF game. I just love Noctis and the boys. And Ardyn as an antagonist is phenomenal
It was time for a good one to come out, I haven't played one for years since ff12 came out, now I can say that I'm looking forward to my new Final Fantasy!
I feel like Yoshida tries to revive FF saga.
This is a good man
When I watch all trailers including this one, I feel like we players remember the good time of other old FF, it's so great
He said on an interview that he is aiming to make final fantasy back into a must buy franchise like it used to be in the 7-10 time
It just occurred to me that this will be the first mainline final fantasy game with a m rating
Just need to wait a few more months. I really think this is gonna be a genuinely fun and memorable game
The demo rendered clips doesn't speak much when there's no game.
@@robertagren9360 What does that even mean? All the hours of gameplay we’ve seen is “fake?”
I'm an FF casual. FF7 still my fave. But this looks on another level I am definitely playing this day 1.

Thinking about the older Final Fantasies, this is what we saw in our minds when we were exploring the world. I reallllyyy want them to remake FF6, but a man can dream can’t he?
Be amazing but also a potential letdown. They really need a dedicated remake dev team like Capcom has for Resident Evil.

As a huge blizzard and Diablo fan I can't believe what I'm going to say. I think this game is taking my money in June.
Oh it already took my money. I preordered it at Best Buy ages ago. It comes out a few days after my birthday
In Yoshi P we trust
what I find insane about it all, is that there are people out there who creatively out of their own mind, created this world. WOW
An RPG with a city in dessert where the hero resting and drinking there after a long journey is always tempting
Physical scale is always hard to portray in media, if the game follows through on what I just saw this should be a textbook example on how to do it
The last time I played a final fantasy game it was on the gameboy, this looks incredible!

It seems more strictly fantasy than the other games, I’m getting a medieval vibe from this. I dig that

Never been more hyped for a game in my adult life.
My biggest hope for this game is how the development process has been gone so seemingly smoothly.
I have never felt this safe and confident about a final fantasy release, let alone a game release, in a long time. This game is gonna slap.
Man i live this medieval fantasy setting, will get this for sure.
Now when this comes out on PC jesus christ it will look even more gorgeous
I’ll miss the days if FF where we traveled around and got new party members as we went on. Making friends to fight with you till the ends of the earth was always what sold me on jrpgs
Yeah that's definitely missing from this
It looks nice, but its GOTY potential is definitely going to come down to the narrative.
I'd say the scope. If this game just relentlessly brings you zones and action set pieces that are derived from a gripping story. Then it's up there. You can tell they are fusing what seems like FF14, GoW and the Witcher all in one game. It could become one of the greats. Or just a very very good game. But this can definetly bring FF back on the map and open up the doors to future releases.
Re4 remake, hogwarts and maybe deadspace remake? Those are pretty stout games too.
@@garljr and Zelda

@RUclips Userman We all now Tears of the Kingdom will get the title this year, don´t lie to yourself.
I’m a fan of all the Final Fantasy games, my favorite being 9. Though the past few games aside from 14 maybe weren’t the best I still liked them for what they were. This FF is looking like the best of the recent bunch, can’t wait!
pretty much the same as me, our favourites are just different.
i finally got a PS5 today, and pre ordered FF 16.
only to play FF 16.
Including XIV, they were not the best FF games.
XIV failed before, then became a middle tier MMO....
.......Until WoW players endorsed it, which made it the top MMO.
Now it is back to being just another MMO. Lost over 70% of Steam players which is huge, since it was a high Steam seller.
People harp on that 2021 craze...XIV aint that game anymore....& many of those people left, because they were only there for the fad.
Also, XVI took up a lot of time & resources from XIV.
@@monsutaman1 nah, 14 still has a huge presence.
the biggest chunk of FF 14 players are not on steam anyway, and i've been playing it since february 2014.
it's still going strong, and FF 14 ARR was always way above the rest from the start.
@@arturiaarthus8367 It has a Prescence; how much is up for debate.
You really don't hear the player count bragging anymore...do you?
Losing over 70% via Steam is a huge deal, since it was a Steam best seller during the craze. Many folks such as myself do not use official launchers, due to the ease of having everything on Steam.
It is easier to download games via steam, instead of doing google searches for the game, then find the launcher, then download the launcher, then download the game....etc....

Beautiful scene, music and emotionaless story.
Yes, that's our FF.
Still can’t believe we are getting an M rated mainline final fantasy game
I hope the gameplay is as beautiful as these jaw dropping visuals
The wolf with the one cuff around its leg has to be a reference to link in Zelda twilight princess.
If only Pokemon could look like this.
It'll take time for GameFreak to force themselves to upgrade their graphics when they already make so much money with basic graphics. I guess people will have to stop buying Pokemon games and complain to force them to do it.
Might have to buy final fantasy again lol
Wow the World is Fabulous & the Music Make Me Feel Want to Take a Journey!!! 🔥😳🔥
You know the soundtrack finna be 🔥
If there was one thing that the environments in XV lacked, it was colour. Everything looked really drab and kind of washed out. I think it's a Luminous Engine thing, because Forspoken looks similar. This game's environments on the other hand look really vibrant. There aren't too many different colours in each of them either, which is a positive in my book. Each environment has a fairly minimal colour palette, but those colours are all really vibrant, so they look great. If only they'd do a bit more work on those clouds though. They look out of place because of how low-res they are.
No the engine of ff16 is not luminous I think it's the upgraded engine for ff14
It's so beautiful 😭
I'm a very oldschool FF fan (FF7 and below) and never really liked how they transitioned to more action RPG heavily style over the years, but having had a BLAST with FF7R, I can't wait for XVI to finally get released.
So glad they went back to the classic medieval+fantasy world setting instead of whatever XV's style is called.
This looks amazing, I cannot wait
I hope Square Enix put a lot of side contents in the world/area of this game. I played FFXV, FFVII remake and It feels like the world feels empty sometimes not to mention the side quests are bland like in FFXV where you take photos or collect Red Toads.
Sometimes? You mean all times, don't sugar coat it.
Remake has become my favorite game of all time, but the level design and side quests are pretty weak lol
Seeing this gives me hope for Rebirth!
Ah 15 and its legendary mess of side quest design. Hopefully this game at least learns from that and has something compelling outside the main path.
And just like that, I'm 12 years old again and wanting to get lost in a fantasy world.
Elden Ring seems to have reminded companies that effort means effort, not just better graphics and longer cutscenes. This is the Final Fantasy I remember.
What a beautiful mountain at 0:41 …. waaaaaait a sec
At first I wasn’t sure about this game but this world map is beautiful
There's no world map, it's a linear hack n slash game and it's completely empty.
at first I wasn't sure about your intelligence, but your comment solidified the lack there off.
Anyone know the name of this OST??
Looks great. Just don’t know if I’ll be able to enjoy single player with no controllable allies. Really loved playing different styles in FF7R and getting to know each character.
That’s a big disappointment for me too, that’s the core of the final fantasy experience for me. As great as this looks, it seems that they’re chasing the trend of most over modern RPGs at the expense of what made FF special. It’ll probably still be great but it’s definitely a wasted potential
@@PhoenixDawn93 Yea, the “We got the team from Devil May Cry for combat” announcement as a selling point was kinda confusing. Like, I’ll just play Devil May Cry if I want that style of game.
Some of the trees could look a bit better, but the stone, water and crystal graphics look incredible.
This looks amazing, I hope it is more open world than the linear levels of the more recent games.
This is beautiful but please do not neglect turn based. Octopath I & II are both fantastic games and I hope that series has a long life.
I think we'll see something new come out of OT II. Kind of like how OT was a spiritual successor to Bravely Default, I think the team behind OT will make something new but will keep it turn-based. SE has been doing pretty good with separating their teams.

@@Sk8rGamingKei XIII?
Nothing wrong with futuristic or medevil..its all about the life breathed into the settling ,the worlds of 7,8 and Spira in X has as much character and artistry as 9...Personally I think X is probably the greatest world in the FFseries...the mix of futuristic tech and old stuff ..with magic and the focus on summons ,perfectly explained. And even links to the dominant world religion . its a juggling act no other FF game does as well....but it does it very well and creates a rich world
but I understand if ppl just like medevil stuff more...this trailer looks ok...but some of these shots could easily have been ripped from 15..in fact the tech behind the game doesnt look like a jump from 15.
You're saying futuristic can't look great? As someone who grew up with final fantasy I felt like the more technologically advanced worlds were more interesting (Well, a couple of them) FF7 had a themepark that looked like a tree in the middle of a desert... FF8 had flying war schools. The medieval games had nothing very interesting or original at all. Well, the weird transport system in FF9 where you get taken from place to place by giant bug monsters underground was cool, but I can't think of a single other example of a unique fantasy idea and environment in the medieval ones.
I don't know truly what it was, but I am now hyped for this.
