Going to make a helpful comment on the lighting. I took 5 years of film acting classes and in there we often went over how to set up lighting to film ourselves for self-taped auditions. The best tip I was given on the cheap was to go to Lowes and get the cheap clamp lamp with the conical front and the back end adjusts and has a squeeze clamp. Then take dryer sheets and tape them around the outside of the cone creating a cheap diffuser. It costs maybe $15-$20 to create and if you're getting started, it became invaluable to my setup kit.
One thing that really adds a lot of ambience to the shot is room noise. I always record audio of the space I'm in for a minute or two. It's almost like it adds a 3D effect to the sound.
@@ClapperDan Yes. If I'm shooting a scene in a park. I will take my portable Zoom H1n and record two minutes of natural ambient sound of the park. When editing I drop that audio track onto my timeline and bring the level up just enough to start opening up the audio. I'm not really sure how to explain it but you will hear it. Liked I said, for me at least, it almost gives your audio a 3D effect
I'm at the beginning stage of content creating, at least beginning to learn. I have watched probably a couple hundred videos all day everyday for weeks. I must say that this is the best video that I have found that makes me feel that I can do this. Everyone says their videos are for beginners and then they start using all this lingo that I have to get a pen and paper to go look up what it means. I will definitely take his class! I have definitely subscribed and will watch everything he has out there! Good job guy!
Cinematic !!! Okay, not gonna lie, I didn’t think I’d get much out of this video, but I was totally wrong! The way everything is explained here is super easy to follow, and it’s packed with info that I didn’t even know I needed. This is honestly way more useful than half the stuff we learn in school! 😂📚
I just purchased my S-Ultra and excited to get going. I have to say this is one of the very best well thought out and explanatory Videos on Filmmaking with a Phone i have ever come across and it takes a lot to impress me..well done and respect
It's really helpful video, thanks for the great content. Question, do you edit your videos in laptop/PC? How do you usually transfer the videos from S24 to pc/laptop? Since I can't seem to find a fast and stable way to transfer big video files from the phone, any tips?
Finally! Thanks bro! I was looking for a video like this. With that quality, with this exact phone for my music videos Thank you! I liked, subscribed and when im ready to shoot finalize i will be enrolling in the course. Especially to see the full breakdown and edit of the beginning scene! Thank you for all your hardwork! You're the best!
I have the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra and I don't have a microphone plug in option. Does the 24 Ultra have one? I see you have it linked, but I didn't see it on your person. I'm asking because I'm actually about to upgrade and I am also looking into getting the Sony ZV-1 Mark 2 camera. I'm thinking that the phone would be the better option. Your thoughts?
I'm gonna shoot some metal concert videos next month (not professionally, for myself and to share with friends) what frames do you recommend? 24 or 30? It's gonna be mostly dark with the occasional lights/flames going on and off during choruses, solos etc.
Do you have a video on photography settings for the S24 Ultra? I am a Tattoo artist and need to take great pictures of my work so I picked up the S24 Ultra. In the past I have tried using a CPL and polarized filter on my Neewer light to take out glare but, a lot of times the photos look washed out.
What an amazing video! Fantastic suggestions on improving everything as well. What do you suggest for the person who's genuinely looking to do it all on their s24 ultra? I'm trying to have a completely self contained system in my new s24 ultra (meaning no need to carry a laptop, subscription editing software for said laptop, as well as a subscription for music as well). I previously used VLLO on my s22 ultra, which worked fairly well...but the music selection was...questionable. Exporting 4k/high quality videos always seemed to result in some unexplainable choppiness (filmed @24fps and exported @24fps). I'd love to see/hear your suggestions for editing professional videos WITHIN the s24 ultra, this would be such a huge step for mobile content creators! Maybe a comparison of mobile editing apps? Love the video and the channel, can't wait to see more!
thanks so much anthony you are so generous in sharing this,i just bought Samsung S Ultra 24 and at the same time im enjoying the filmaker class, the money that i paid for the course can't compare for the effort and skills you shared, its priceless
hey thanks for the video, especially appreciate the settings info. I have one question though, under settings > advanced video options do you ever turn on the HDR10+ setting?
Thanks for this video, this is something I was looking for since I bought my S24 Ultra! Would you say the Shiftcam's LensUltra lineup matches the S24 Ultra camera specs? I can see the anamorphic works perfectly even though they say on their website it only works with the S23 series. Any thougts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I'm confused why we would switch it to auto for white balance, just to switch it back to manual before filming. What's the point of switching it to auto?
To lock in the autofocus so it doesn’t change while filming. You use auto to set it in the correct spot and then manual mode keeps it locked there so it doesn’t shift accidentally
Would it be possible for you to make a comparison video of uploading story and post quality in Instagram for both videos and photos between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra? Samsung announced that they have done a partnership with insta for optimisation
@MrPaulXavier Yes So I clicked Pro, and I hit the top right corner and see nothing that says resolution. Can you please tell me the steps to? Before or after I click on PRO?
But why are no one asking why you can't use the contrast, saturation etc. in Pro video mode in 4k ?? "Pro shooters" would like to turn down the saturation a bit and have a flatter contrast for better post production, but I guess no Pro shoots over 1080 ? It can't be a processor thing, I don't believe it! I've had all the S Ultras, and every year I'm looking forward to this being fixed, but no :(
The 24 FPS gives the video a more cinematic feel that you know out of movies. Less makes it feels glitch and more fps will make tlyour movie appear more like a home video. It's a hood trick and works really well because it balances the motion blur.

Just picked up mine s24ultra, this is dope information!! Thank you!!!!
Glad I could help!

Great points 🔥
So you mean you pre-record a space, like a park, and then overlay that on the recording of the audio of the actual shot?
@@ClapperDan Yes. If I'm shooting a scene in a park. I will take my portable Zoom H1n and record two minutes of natural ambient sound of the park. In the camera settings there is anamorphic lense correction built into the s24 ultra for x1.33-x1.55 lenses

Loved the intro😂, cool tip to put while balance to manual before record. this video deserved million views!
Thanks so much!

Thankyou SO MUCH for this video!! Actually so useful.
Very informative, learned a good amount of things here! Subbed! Thank you!
Thx Anthony..so inspiring to start a new lesson for filming.
You got it!
Is the s24 ultra that large of an improvement over the camera on the base model or could i get away with using the base model to start making videos?
Ayehoo, this is so entertaining and nicely explained!
👍🏻💪🏻🔥
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I learned a lot with this thoughtful and well crafted instruction 🙏🏻

Great video. Thanks for your tips about S24 Ultra...I'm just bying it :)😄🙃
Good choice!
This only video is a whole course itself, no less than $150 Dlls value worth... but you bring it to us for free! Thanks! You are a crack.

8K is like the 3D TVs. No consumer used them more than once.
I like to hear you say you don't need a lot of expensive gear but use a lot of skill. Nice
Amazing work, thank you.
Glad you liked it!
Holy chit....this video just blew my mind...I've been thinking about starting to shoot vids!!
Really great summary and inspiring 👏👌.
I'm familiar with the processes, but I still got good new little tricks and reminders.
Glad it was helpful!
You are the SHIZNIT! THANK YOU for sharing what you have and I intend on getting your course now
You're so welcome!

14 day film maker is awesome! Highly recomend!

Fundamentally explained. Awesome!
You rock man!
Thank you!
So to master the s24 ultra cinematic filmmaking i need all the equipment for cinematic filmmaking for a camera anyway? :/ very informative
Absolutely not. They’re just extras
Douche
Learned so much just from this one video. Thanks man.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for another great informative video....always go to your channel when I get a new phone🙌
I appreciate that!
Very detailed and cost friendly video! Thanks a lot!
Glad it was helpful!
This is informative and valuable. Thank you
by any chance can you host a workshop in my city? i would pay for the class...
I just bought this phone, and this video inspired me to make some short horror films again. Thank you!
You happen to have a video like this for the iPhone 15 pro?
How are deciding where exactly to angel the camera when the screen is facing the opposite direction?
Film test clips and review them followed by adjusting the camera
Hi. I have a samsung Galaxy s22 ultra, and I have faced a problem of producing skewed pics when I do take in portrait. What am my doing wrong?
Can you please help me with choice of gimbal for Samsung s24 Ultra. I can't figure it out.
did you shoot the whole video on s24ultra??
I love the video but I really want to know where you got those eyebrow implants?
Mine doesn't have a button to change resolution to uhd. It's just not there
You need to be in pro video mode
Good job❤️ i love s24 ultra i wish i could have it one day
One tip I can give as a graphic designer and still applies to photography and cinematography is practice practice practice.
Yup!
Excuse me, what are you using web camera in this video?
how many minutes can you record on a
phone that does not have sd card
Thanks to this video I'm a 30 years of experience filmmaker....
Bitrate HEVC ( high efficiency) or. H.264 (most compatible) for video
Most compatible will give you better quality
Most compatible, 100%.
Ok. Thank you
I have a Samsung 23 ultra. Can you tell me what resolution I'd need? I don't see 4k as an option. It's on UHD 30 right now
UHD is the same as 4k
In pro mode you wanna go uhd 24
Does the smartphone filmmaker course go over capcut?
Yup!
Storyboard section is just Amazing INFO.
Great!
Very good video. So informative. Kudos
Glad it was helpful!
Would it be possible for you to make a comparison video of uploading story and post quality in Instagram for both videos and photos between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24
Ultra?
Samsung announced that they have done a partnership with insta for optimisation
I will definitely look into this!
Would the apple pro res be better than the s24 ultra??? cause I don't think u can true cc in s24 file output?
Yes Apple pro res is for sure a superior codec for people serious about color grading
I'm still stuck on resolution. How'd you get there? 🤦🏽♀️
Are you asking how to change the resolution setting? That should be in the top corner of the camera app
@MrPaulXavier Yes
So I clicked Pro, and I hit the top right corner and see nothing that says resolution. Can you please tell me the steps to? Before or after I click on PRO?
You are great so proffesional and explaining everything so nice thanks for that video I will definitely enjoy the Curse
What iMovie equivalent does Samsung have to edit videos on the phone?
I would use CapCut. We teach that in our course and have a video on it on this channel as well
Thank you so much this is so helpful ! Hope to join the community
Glad it was helpful!
This dude is a legend 😎
Why my pro video camera is flipped like mirror but it up to down
Awesome. I use 3 S21 ultras for 3 camera podcasts because they're so powerful yet cheap. I use the pro-mode too. But this S24 makes me HUNGRY!
Haha i know exactly how you feel
Does this work for foldables to
Can we do the same with s24 plus?
Subbed off this first video!
Thanks so much!
@@MrPaulXavier you're welcome 😊
Thank you 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
A segment on outdoor settings would have been great
We use the same exact settings outdoors, only addition would be an ND filter which we talk about in our recent video on s24 camera accessories.
Great video 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
Great tutorial, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm going to save this to try on my s25 ultra nexts year.
Nice!
Great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Are you selling used s22,s23 ultra or something like that i need to get a one
I am not right now
Amazing video
Awesome information thk u
Without the music it's got the vibe of a horror movie coming up to a jump scare.
Thank you 😊
Music name in the cinematic intro??
One day i will be a part of your Community 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I hope so too!
But why are no one asking why you can't use the contrast, saturation etc. in Pro video mode in 4k ??

It can't be a processor thing, I don't believe it!
I've had all the S Ultras, and every year I'm looking forward to this being fixed, but no :(
Good tips for content creators
Glad you think so!
Whay 24 FPs?

you dont have to buy an anamorphic lens, just go to camera assistant and turn anamorphic on.
That doesn’t produce the real effect but it is a good option ina pinch
Do one for photo please
