Ive been running the Ariens 42 icon with 3 blades for 5 years. I traded for the newer model this year. The only part I use on the mulching kit is the chute blocker. It works very well when mulching leaves. And it fits the new mower perfectly!!!! Good job!!!
I’ve had a 52” ikon x since March 2018, Kawasaki engine. Still on original belt. I have 236 hours and not a hiccup. Excellent mower, best for tge money by far. Seems like a light duty commercial quality to me. They’ve gone up over $1,000 since the pandemic. Love mine, we cut 4 yards, mine, my Dad’s, brothers, and a friend
That’s awesome bro I just made a video about the 52 ikon go check it out it’s my most recent
Very good video. Sure glad you used the mulch kit on the ariens.
i have installed the kit on my ariens xd 52 and can't wait to see the
results.
Just put a mulch kit on my 42 inch Gravely 3 blade O turn witch I just bought used for our house in town. (Have a Gravely Z 160, no mulch kit, for the farm yard for almost 20 years) The mulch kit works perfect, better than expected! Hate blowing grass and possible objects around in town.
Thanks for the honest review. Just ordered one for my 52” Edge.
I just made a video about the 52 ikon go check it iut
Good video, thanks. I just bought the 2023 edge 42 w the mulch kit. Ya need it down here in Florida with the little postage stamp lawns. My other ariens zoom 34 (2012) just blew a hydro after 11 years of service! Ariens did great with this one, it's def light commercial grade.
Looks like a real decent mower for a fair price. I only mow five yards a week as a side hustle, but mulching sure would cut down on the blowing off beds, walkways, and driveways.
Thanks for this real world test - I suspect everyone online that has had issues is not installing the kit correctly.
Couldn't get them Mohawks out the way until I just built a shoot closer. This month made 2yrs 470hrs just tighten valves for season and reg maintenance I'm good I switched to tubes for front tires
Thanks man. How do you think it would do over light leaves?
get a commercial grade mower if your gonna be mowing several yards I have a ztx and learned that buying an hd or apex is much better
Great video man
Can u make a video oil change spark plug please
Mine leaves a holiday did I do something wrong
Nice! Just subbed
Where did you buy it. All the Lowe’s near me are out of stock
keep making that money for yourself my man . wish i would have been more inspired to make money when i was younger . btw do you still have this mulching kit installed>
Yes after a year it’s still on doing great
Should I buy an Ikon or Edge if I mow a residential home?
I'm looking at this mower currently. Can you tell me how wide it is with chute off/Up/ mulch kit installed? I would appreciate sir cause I can't find it anywhere on specs.
I was considering starting a lawn care business and buying this mower. Would it be good for commercial jobs?
I use it for 40+ lawns weekly and Ive never had any issues. I think it’s a better mower for commercial compared to residential because of the larger deck can’t fit in all back yards. If you compare it to a commercial mower it’s definitely not as good but for a fraction of the price it’s definitely something that will multiply your money for several years with good maintenance
@@zaingunter4596 Thanks for the advice man, I really appreciate it! Love the videos and keep up the good work.
Quieter?
Can you use the mulching kit with the bagger system?
The mulch kit sucks. Ordered mine thru the mail and it arrive with the mounting studs damage and mutilated due to poor packaging. The blades don't cut worth a damn in real life everyday grass. My Toro, which is about to break down for good, cuts much better. I will be taking the mulch parts off and reinstalling the original blades. WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP.
I repaired the damaged studs with a file and die then had to bend them to get it to fit. I blame the crappy blades for the poor cut. This is a poorly engineered product.
