RIP, Bzelda. Hearing Micarah talk about her made me cry, too. Pets are pets, whether they're chickens or dogs or cats or lizards. There's something so special about the bond that an animal is capable of forming with their favorite human and there's something so painful about outliving them, even when we know it's inevitable. And there's something very beautiful in having her feathers used to line the nests that will shelter a new generation of songbirds, too.
I feel Micarah’s pain 😞 it’s sad when any pet passes away. I remember when I had my first pet, a hamster, he passed away in my hands from a rodent sickness. I was 18 and so sad when he passed. I asked my boss for one day off and he fired me because he said it wasn’t an excuse since it was only a hamster 😢
I know the feeling. I bought some pants that are too close to my skin tone and just not flattering at all. Plus, from a distance I feel it would look a little scandalous. 😅

I'm so sorry your sweet chicken Bzelda passed away. Our pets should never die. I've already told my dog he's not allowed to because I don't know how I would have survive without him. I had a goldfish Paolo I was very attached to. It feels a little silly to say that about a goldfish but I had him for over five years and he was the best goldfish ever. He would do a happy dance when he saw me, swim to the surface, and eat from my hand. Once I had a friend goldfish-sit when I was on vacation and he said Paolo moped the whole time. Some creatures are just very special. ❤

I too have cried over a chicken! I used to work at the Creation Museum, and we had a tiny black chicken named Moe. She was just the friendliest. Her daughter Cluck-cluck was just like her, she’d coming running when you called her, and cluck at your feet until you crouched down so she could snuggle in your hands.

I lost my rabbit Burrito of nearly 12 years a few weeks ago. He's been widowed three times and each time was so painful for me trying to comfort him and find him a new partner while grieving myself, I really empathize with that difficult experience. All I want to do is talk about Burrito to my friends and hold those memories, but people are quick to dismiss the loss of a pet, especially one that isnt a dog or a cat. I also lost my grandfather this year, but losing Burrito hurts in a deeper way. He's been my only companion for over a decade (I live alone) so my daily routines are changed forever. Its the lonliest feeling having no one else to understand and share that grief. Thank you for sharing your love of Bzelda with us, it makes me feel a little less alone in my grief for my baby Burrito. I'm so sorry Micarah, my heart aches for you. You just reminded me of my bunny Velvet. He was my best friend for 9 years. He was a chocolate rex that liked banana peels but not bananas, and loved eating roses when I got myself some. When I was homeless and he was staying in friend's yards I would always find him with a little buddy, one time a squirrel, one time a lizard that followed him around the yard as we moved his pen. When we lived in the country and he saw geese fly over for the first time he thought they were going to eat him! And he loved hanging out with little kids, in the trailer park they'd come to the yard I made him and give him tasty weeds and pets. I had a roommate whose rabbits bred, and he let the babies come chill in his territory and they ran around and played and the babies fell asleep on his hay. He was my emotional support animal, I'd wake up from PTSD nightmares and he would be there looking at me like, why are you freaking out? I don't hear anything. So I'd know it was just in my head. One morning when I realized he hadn't said hello yet I found he'd passed of old age, apparently rexes don't live as long. I literally screamed myself hoarse. Lol the adding extra coverage to the Sabrina corset is so relatable. I love her outfits, and I would totally make something like that and be like “yeah I’ll wear it” until I actually put it on and realize I’m not brave enough to actually do it. I needed a new swimsuit, and I thought I was going to get a cute two piece set. I ended up getting a one piece because I’m still not brave enough for it. Has nothing to do with insecurity about my body for me, but it’s the thought that someone is going to sexualize you when you are just trying to look cute.

I have had pet chickens, and losing one is such a difficult pain because people don’t really understand the bond, or how loving, intelligent and amazing they are as pets. I know words cannot take away the grief, but know that you gave Bzelda an amazing lifetime of love and care, much better than she would have had elsewhere, and that you are not alone in your feelings. The love you have for her will always exist, and will carry you through until you see her again 💝
So sorry for your loss! Pet losses are so tough, especially soul pets. The only thing that gets me through it is reminding myself that the joy of having them in my life was worth having to go through the pain of losing them❤️

Lol the adding extra coverage to the Sabrina corset is so relatable. I love her outfits, and I would totally make something like that and be like “yeah I’ll wear it” until I actually put it on and realize I’m not brave enough to actually do it. I needed a new swimsuit, and I thought I was going to get a cute two piece set. I ended up getting a one piece because I’m still not brave enough for it. Has nothing to do with insecurity about my body for me, but it’s the thought that someone is going to sexualize you when you are just trying to look cute.

I have had pet chickens, and losing one is such a difficult pain because people don’t really understand the bond, or how loving, intelligent and amazing they are as pets. I know words cannot take away the grief, but know that you gave Bzelda an amazing lifetime of love and care, much better than she would have had elsewhere, and that you are not alone in your feelings. The love you have for her will always exist, and will carry you through until you see her again 💝
