    This MK7 GTI PP came in after the owner wanted to improve the performance. She opted for the APR Stage 1 ECU software, 4 piece intake and Akrapovic rear silencer.
    The 4 piece intake consists of a Racingline R600 Intake, Ram Air 90 Degree Intake Elbow, Ram Air Intake Hose & APR Turbo Muffler Delete. The R600 intake, intake hose and 90-degree elbow fully de-restricts the intake path to the turbo, releasing more horsepower, torque and turbo response. The Turbo Muffler Delete then replaces the factory item that is designed to quieten down the turbo sounds and in-turn restricts flow out of the turbo.
    The Akrapovic rear silencer replaces the factory silencer, lowering weight, improving the sound without being too boisterous and improving the rear-end aesthetic with the carbon fibre tips.
    The APR ECU software is then installed to improve horsepower, torque and driveability by optimising fuelling, ignition, boost and many other maps inside the ECU.
    🔴 Stock output = 251HP & 287lbfts
    🟢 Max gains = +107HP & +96lbfts

    when working on cars with upwards of 25K or more km's on it, and you perform an upgrade on the intercooler or charge pipes, is there much oil that collects? Since the PCV plug goes right into the turbo inlet elbow and can leave oil residue there.

      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад

      Thanks for the comment, there will always be some residue no matter the mileage. The problem is when this residue dries and deposits on the intake ports and valves and begins to limit flow, and then power and causes other issues.
      This is on Direct Injection only cars though, as most vag models now have indirect and direct it’s less of an issue.

    Hi Regal team, just found this old video. I’ve got a 2019 Audi TT 245 Quattro and I’m thinking it’s the same engine as this Golf GTT? I guess mine has the dreaded OPF too? 325bhp is incredible! Would that also be achievable with mine? Would I need a full R600 too? Sorry for all the questions I’m new to tuning 😀

      Thanks for the comment, I believe the engine is different a Performance Specialist can provide you with all the information and identify what gains might be possible. You can talk to one by using one of the links below:

    It would have been interesting to measure the power with the installation of the modified parts only to distinguish the gain linked to the performance parts and that linked to the modification of the software.

      Sure would be for RUclips! Although, these videos are showing you work we actually do and not purely for part by part by part by part comparison purposes. Perhaps its something we can do in the future.

      Given enough time, for research purposes, it’s always nice to have additional info as to what individual improvements could be had where, but let’s be honest, the remap is doing the lion’s share of the power gains here. Of themselves, the Akra would sound throaty, and the intake would give some nice muffled dv “whooshies”, but they’re likely good for a handful of wheel hp at best on OE software either way.

    Amazing!!!!!
    What tune is? Low or High Torque? 95 or 98 RON

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the comment, this car had 98 RON fuel and kept the stock DSG software. So we installed the low torque but as you can see, the gains were still HUGE!

    You can do all these mods in your backyard and flash the car with a Cobb pro tune from the comfort of your home. 🤓

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад +11

      It’s okay for some people to not want to do it theirselves, for those we do offer remote options although Cobb is nowhere near as reputable and tried and tested as APR, especially in the U.K.
      For those who want to have the best experience, sit back and relax whilst we do the upgrades and they get before and after rolling road results, we are here 🙌

    What is the fluttering sound you can hear around 4:29 / 4:30 when the turbo is on boost, is that waste gate flutter?

      All the unsilenced turbo sounds from the intake and increased boost

    Will doing a cat delete affect the accuracy of the tune?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад +1

      If you fit a cat delete to a car with Stage 1 software which is not designed for a cat delete, the software will not be optimised for use.

    This is a Mk7.5 to the Mk7 like in the title. They sound a little better as stock over the Mk7.

    I really need to understand, what in earth is the APR exactly? Tuning company? Or what?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for the comment, APR is a brand that makes ECU/DSG software and other hardware for VAG models. We’ve been using them for years on in-house and customer cars, always superb power, torque and drivability increases.
