Really pleasing to see that even at 120K miles the engine is still healthy enough to be mapped. I saw no evidence of blue smoke in the video and this together with the power output on the standard tune indicates these engines are pretty robust. Do you have any service history, I'm assuming that this car had been well maintained?
I'm looking to possibly get a Mk7 GTI next year (hopefully this current used car price bubble madness will have burst by then) and the pretty decent condition your GTI was in when inspected reassures me that I'll find a decent one.
Would be great to see more of a progression kinda build, stage 1, stage 2, FBO IS20 maybe some E30 content, IS38 then IS38 Hybrid? Also not sure if the UK Variants have the same fueling components as ROW

My VW Transporter van makes exactly the same door shut noise when the windows are down. Unless they are fully up they make that horrible rattle when shutting - same both sides.

I am surprised that it still develops 240bhp stock. I guess that means that it actually was looked after since if the engine has internal wear, you will drop power on the dyno. I most likely had been serviced regularly. But its definitely a plus point. What octane/ make fuel were you using?
My clutch lasted 20,000 miles from new and had to push vw to do it under warranty. A very weak point on the GTi's and apparently R's too.
How does the clutch handle the new stage 1 map? looking to get mine done but a few places are saying I need to get the clutch done first? ( mk 7 gti manual)

When you said it felt quicker than the s3 last video, im guessin even tho its the same power with the map, the gti is slightly lighter, with less drive train loss, but the main difference would be from the in gear torque from a manual you think??🤔 giving a different sensation of speed
Bit of both yes, there’s also the factor where tuned cars always feel quicker than stock cars (on equivalent power levels), as a good tune usually gets rid of flat spots and feels less ‘lazy/laggy’
Is there a reason why the rear is spinning? Not sure if it’s the dyno system, but isn’t the GTI front wheel drive?

I know this video is about the golf, but I'm just curious. How'd you get the roof rails on your rs3?? When you picked it up on the first video it didn't have roof rails but now it does (I know it has had them for a while). It's been bugging me for a while😅

how come the rear wheels are moving on the dyno when its a front wheel drive car?
Its a 4WD dyno. And the dyno is run with all 4 wheels to make the car think that its actually on the road so that there are no issues in how much power it develops.
Must admit I love a GTI, always a sexy car, the black with red is the only colour worth getting in life! I want one! I love the dsg on my diesel mk7 but if I’m owning a GTI it’s stick all the way! You wanna drive it!
Update, I’m now off to find the 2nd cheapest mk7 GTI in the UK!

May I ask, why are all 4 wheels turning on the Dyno? Aren't GTi's front wheel drive?
They are but its a 4 roller dyno, plus it'll prevent the car from freaking out if it only had the fronts spinning, not really an issue tho

Becareful with the ACC, recalibration is expensive and if it isn’t working your insurance is void (this is what brings the insurance group down massively on these cars)

Have you done any mods to the intake or removed the restrictions before getting it dyno'd?
Car was as I bought it, so stock hardware 👍🏼 Now going forward I will be upgrading the various bits
@@TRHamza I meant you can do an intake mod on these MQB airboxes (restriction #1), also remove the snowgrill (restriction #2). It actually makes a difference. By adding a part of a GTE you can get similar results as a VWR600 airbox.

Make sure the throttle body is clean, very common for them to build up with carbon!

As far as i know, thats ONLY an issue with the North American since VW never put port injection in North America which helps clean the carbon/ soot off the intake valves. In the EU and UK they have port injection (they did it to pass emissions standards). The intake staying clean is a byproduct of that decision. You will often find people online mentioning problems with carbon build up, but you will also find that those people are not in Europe.
@@sohailashiq8693 I have found many in Europe. Even with the lower emissions the carbon buildup is there specially with the high mileage
