4 months starting September to December 31 . Philippines the longest Christmas on earth 😅😅

Not really. It ends during the first or 2nd week of January, on the feast of the 3 Wisemen...
In our house, it never stops until March😂

That's not really a tradition. Philippines "celebrating" Xmas from September to December started as a marketing gimmick in the 90s that stuck to this day.

@@rrubio6660 i think it all started when some families NEVER remove christmas decors. and when the 100 days countdown comes, it already basically xmas.

Being a Filipino myself i could be biased, but if you see interviews on foreigners on RUclips or if you happen to know travelers to the Philippines and ask them about the country, culture & the people, they'd probably say the nature is awesome and the people are the happiest, friendliest, nicest, kindest, most hospitable, welcoming and helpful on earth. Filipinos in general like to make foreigners feel welcome and special. They will offer you food, drinks, etc. even if they have so little, always willing to give and to help🙂 Almost everyone speaks English, of course in different levels, but every English speaking person will get by when they want to know directions or something, even in the remote areas of the country🙂

Filipinos begin to take out Christmas decors/ornaments from their storage late August to early September and start readying and trimming their houses, offices, malls what not for Christmas. Christmas carols fill the malls and other establishments beginning Sept 1. And this continues through the Epiphany on the 1st Sunday after New Yeat's day. Some even extends the spirit of Christmas up to the Feast of Sto. Niño(Infant Jesus) before taking down all the trimmings on the 3rd week of January😁

    "Tulong" - Help
    "Kumusta"- Hello
    "Salamat"- Thank you
    "Opo"- Yes
    "Hindi"- No
    "C.R."- Comfort room
"Po" can be added to the sentence as a sign of respect like "Hello po"
Anddd people here would most likely call Kano, tisoy and Joe 😂😂😂

The words with the repeated syllable 'ba' in the Tagalog language and also in the Filipino language are dependent on which syllable of the words has or takes the stress or emphasis and in which words ends with the glottal stop consonant or the glottal stop consonant sound (aka glottal stop, glottal consonant, glottal consonant sound, or glottal stop sound), which is the sound you make or produce in the middle of or between the syllables 'uh' and 'oh' in the English-language word or expression of "uh-oh", and is represented by the hyphen in that word or expression, or that sudden or quick closing of the throat or vocal chords to pause the air coming out or going out from your lungs through your throat or vocal chords when you speak or especially when you sound or pronounce vowels or vowel sounds, and this sound, consonant, or consonant sound, or stop is also technically, linguistically, and physically sounded or pronounced, or made or produced every time before one sounds, pronounces, makes, or produces a vowel or vowel sound.
This glottal stop consonant sound is represented below by an apostrophe that follows the syllable where and when it is sounded, pronounced, made, or produced after that syllable in the syllabication and pronunciation guides within parentheses. The syllable with the stress or emphasis given to it is represented below by being written with all capital letters in the syllabication and pronunciation guides within the parentheses. Here are the words:
    baba / babà (BAH-bah') = chin
baba / babâ (bah-BAH') = (command) go down, come down
    = (direction / orientation / relation /position / location) down
= (height) small, short, petite, tiny, little
    ba
= (grammatical question marking particle that turns a statement or declarative sentence into a question or an interrogative sentence, and/or also with additional emphasis on a word within the question or interrogative sentence or to the question or interrogative sentence as a whole, and/or for additional expression of strong or stronger emotions, feelings, exclamation, or interjection while questioning)
bababa / bababâ (bah-bah-BAH') = (future action) will go down, will come down
= (future action) will be going down, will be coming down
Bababa ba? / Bababâ ba? (bah-bah-BAH' ba?) = Is this/that going or coming down?
= Are these/those going or coming down?
Bababa. / Bababâ. (bah-bah-BAH') = It/This/That is going or coming down.
= They/These/Those are going or coming down.
The Filipino and Tagalog for "Really?", as in questioning with a state of disbelief or in a state of needing a confirmation, evidence, or proof, is "Talaga?" or "Talaga?" (ttah-lah-GAH?), or "Talaga ba?" or "Talagá ba?" (ttah-lah-GAH ba?) and not just, only, or simply " 'Ba? " like in Geography Now's video. I never used nor heard or listened to any other Filipino here in the Philippines said or spoke just, only, or simply the word or syllable " 'Ba? ", as it is, to mean the question or expression "Really?" when I or they speak in Filipino or Tagalog.
    So, ...
There's a story or there is this story with a lot of versions or variations from person to person, but it goes like...
In the Philippines, a Filipino who speaks Filipino or Tagalog entered an elevator from a higher floor or storey with another Filipino who also speaks Filipino or Tagalog already inside it. The Filipino who enters asks to the other Filipino where the elevator is going and specifically if it is going down to the or one of the lower floor/s or storey/s, but a non-Filipino and non-Filipino-speaking or non-Tagalog-speaking person is also with them, and all he/she/they heard is the two Filipino-speaking or Tagalog-speaking Filipinos speaking a bunch of repeated syllables of 'ba', have a complete conversation, and seemingly understood each other well.
Filipino 1: (asking a question) Bababa ba? / Bababâ ba? (It it/this [elevator] going down?)
Filipino 2: (understood the question and then answered...) Bababa. / Bababâ. (It/This [elevator] is going down.)
Filipino 1: (understood the asnwer well)
Filipinos 1 and 2: (had a complete conversation and understood each other well)
Non-Filipino: (internal monologue) (shocked, surprised, confused, or amazed) What did just happen between them?

I'm a native south Texan, retired USAF combat vet, who now lives in the Philippines. I actually live in what is called Oriental Mindoro. You have to take a ferry from the Main Island (Luzon) to get here. Most of these things they are talking about are now "common" to me. Especially the food. GOOD stuff, overall. In my area, the majority can speak "ok to good" English, although there are also many who can't, along with many who feel embarrassed to talk to an English speaking person. The majority I deal with daily, speak what we would call "broken English", which is no different than my "broken Tagalog". In both cases, Filipino's understand a LOT more than they can speak, which is exactly the same for me. But, basic communication is not really any problem at all. To be truthful, there are some foods I consider the best there is anywhere. But, there are also some that I do not like in the least. Abd, the big one, being from Texas, I do not usually order anything with beef in it, as their cows are nowhere NEAR the quality of ours in the States. Not true in every case, but overall, yes. I eat a TON of "baboy" (pork), which is the staple food, and "manuk" (chicken). I really like both a lot. I could say much more, but this is too long already.

The specific group of steamed rice cakes with their cooking, regional, provincial, local, clan, family, or household variations of styles, additional ingredients, techniques, processes, methods, and recipes, or the more general name or term for these and other native Filipino delicacies of steamed and baked goods, mostly sweet or eaten sweet and are snacks or desserts, are named "puto" (pú-to) in Filipino and/or in Tagalog, and in most of the other languages of, in, and from the Philippines, or variantly spelled as "putu" or "poto" also in Filipino and/or in a few to some of the other languages of, in, and from the Philippines, with their different pronunciations of having or not having the glottal stop consonant at the end of the word and/or which syllable of the word takes the stress or emphasis in those other languages.
Although the Philippines was colonized and occupied by Spain or the Spanish Empire, through or via the Viceroyalty of New Spain in present-day Mexico or not and directly from Spain, and introduced the Spanish language and/or some to a lot more Spanish words into the Philippine archipelago or islands, to our ancestors, and in and to our native, indigenous or autochthonous, and ethnic or ethnolinguistic languages for 300 to 333 years, we didn't change the name or term for these foods, even though it is spelled or written down and pronounced the same as the Spanish word "p*to".
On the other hand, only the Spanish female or feminine counterpart or version of "p*to", which is "p*ta", entered our languages with the same spelling and pronunciation, and with the same or almost entirely the same as the meanings and definitions as in or from the Spanish language.
"P*ta" means the same or almost entirely the same meanings and definitions in Spanish or a few to some other foreign languages closely-related, linguistically-related, or influenced by the Spanish language, and also in most, if not all, of the languages of, in, and from the Philippines, but the word "p*to" doesn't mean the same in these languages, except for a few to some of the other languages of, in, and from the Philippines that have the spelling variations of "poto" or "putu" and not "puto" in their languages for the food, and then maybe also already or just later have, treat, or consider the word and with the spelling of "p*to" the same as in Spanish, with the same or almost entirely the same meanings and definitions as in Spanish.

That's why Filipino-Tagalog is one of the hardest languages to learn since you can use so many alternative words. Plus there's also influence by dialects from different parts of the Philippines

    • @bokchoy9632
      @bokchoy9632 6 месяцев назад

nope. it's not a hard language. you know what's hard? Chinese! the writing system is hard with those thousands of characters you need to memorize. English is harder than Tagalog too cus the pronunciation is different from writing. Tagalog is easy to learn.
