I am German and I am always appreciative to Filipinos I meet in Germany since I have learned this Filipino's sad reality many years ago. So whenever you see Filipinos in your country, they are there to give themselves, their time, their endless care, love and kindness to that country that should have been for their families. So be nice to the Filipinos in your areas. EDIT And here is China bullying the Filipinos, they have forgotten that thousands of Chinese have recieved these from them. 😢😢

Fun fact: Jesus birth in flesh, if you follow the counting in the Bible, should be around last week of September or early October. The December one was made to coincide with the Roman pagan god Sol Invictus ("Invincible Sun" or "Unconquered Sun"). No one can go against the Roman emperors back then.

The country is not sending OFWs , they are leaving the country because of the economy. They are sacrificing themselves facing culture shocks, abuse, unfair wages for some, and many have been raped and murdered but OFWs close their eyes and still leave the country to uplift their families. And they do it for years on end. You can never fathom how much these people sacrificed to help each member of their family. They are alone for many years in a foreign country facing loneliness at the least. Thank you OFWs for your service.

Didnt click for me before until now-its what happened with British Jamaica. Used to be that the UK would Only trade with Commonwealth countries-in this case, Jamaica had bananas. Then the World Bank came along and forced Jamaica to compete with every other tropical produce nation. Clinton even had a speech on it. Since then, Jamaica has had to work hard to restabilize
Nurses and general practice MDs are like a dime a dozen now in the Philippines, bc the economy has long since been globalized

“Probably the most giving people in the planet” made me teary eyed. Every Filipino born in their home culture are naturally hospitable, kind and giving regardless of their financial status, emotional yet resilient . And you know what, it’s the culture of being easily satisfied and making others happy and the “bahala na” or the que sera sera attitude that makes them resilient to any challenges. Give them karaoke, a local bottle of gin, beer or rum and problem forgotten, life’s outlook changed.

The thing about Filipino Christmas is that while most Americans see it as a gift giving holiday where you (sometimes are forced to) meet family. We see it as a celebration of our faith, our family, a celebration for love, and for hope (the hope part being the new years). The long season is a reminder that we are abundantly blessed, no matter how difficult life gets, because we have God and our family and with these two, we will always have love and hope.

Usually, there's no choice but leave the family, The Country to have a better life, but the truth is Philippines is one of the richest Country, the most problem is corruption, Thanks and God bless

Anthony Bourdain had been to the Philippines 3X or could be more. From videos on YT ARE 3. They also have Pilipina nanny for his daughter. He had good experiences with their nanny and her family. That’s how his curiosity about the Philippines and Pilipinos got perked and started journeys in the Philippines.

Filipinos work hard from jan to september and we saved for the christmas season "ber" months (sep to dec) streets starts getting crowded bec some stalls near the palengke (street market) are starting to offer christmas trinkets, cute stuff, and everything puts SALE on their product the usual travel time is now even more worst thats during end of the week but during week days traffic are so usual when its before office hours and after office hours. Luckily after pandemic we now have shopee and lazada to where we can bought things online if its were back during 90' or up to early 2015 the traffic goes up to 4 hours everyday but we have cope to that situation whether your in your own car or commuters we have some pika foods, water, little towel and pamaypay or hand fan we have it in our bag bec filipinos are diligent we anticipated everything. Christmas and New Year are important to us its kinda long break that makes relatives get together celebrate the season.
